  1. 2011 Match of the Year

I enjoy the few Japanese matches I watch but it's so damn difficult to keep up to date with and actually go out of my way to watch that I just usually don't do it. The same reason I didn't watch much ROH TV.
  2. GPWT Round 1: Bret Hart (5) -vs- Curt Hennig (11)

I voted with Mikey.... I'll explain why later but I challenge someone, anyone to give me 4 different good reasons as to why I'm wrong first. And "Bret Hart is a better wrestler." isn't a good enough reason.
  3. GPWT Round 1: The Undertaker (7) -vs- Andre the Giant (10)

To me, this is, if nothing else, the most noteworthy of the first round match-ups. It's a battle of the WWE's Greatest Giants. The past -vs- the....also sorta past but hey, it's OK cause he's a Deadman. I understand that, in his prime, Andre was very quick and agile, even able to throw a...
  4. GPWT Round 1: Ricky Steamboat (8) -vs- The Rock (9)

Yeah, I kinda have to agree with you. But you can also consider the intangibles. For instance, for his entire career, Steamboat portrayed a classic white meat babyface whereas The Rock not only couldn't succeed in that role, he was literally hated in it. Rock had crowds chanting "Die Rocky...
  5. GPWT Round 1 - Ric Flair (1) -vs- Ted DiBiase (16)

The great thing about a public poll is you can see who voted for who - Mike Chaos! I'm not saying you're wrong or anything here but care to explain why you chose DiBiase over Flair?
  6. GPWT Round 1 - Ric Flair (1) -vs- Ted DiBiase (16)

Against just about anyone else in this tournament, I'd say DiBiase would've faired much better here. But the fact is he was put up against, quite honestly, the best wrestler of the last 20-30 years. Flair could do anything and everything that is considered important in wrestling, from putting...
  7. HOF 2011

It was reported in this week's Observer that names currently being tossed around for this year with an Atlanta connection include Michael Hayes, Jake Roberts, and Abdullah the Butcher with Triple H being a big supporter of Abdullah. The Butcher in the Hall of Fame would be....interesting. I'd...
  8. IWF Debate League Card 1 OFFICIAL SIGN-UP

3 more actually, sir. Unless I missed someone?
  9. vip member

I think LHR is just keeping things going so she can research for Pt. 2 of the "How to Guide." ;-P [/INDENT]
  10. Who is the new they??

Personally, I don't consider Bischoff a reliable source. How long ago was it that he was quoted as saying that ReAction was doing great and exceeding expectations on Spike and then, a few days later, it was announced that the show was being cancelled?
  11. HOF 2011

Hulk Hogan is in the game Savage is hocking, he's actually on the cover. Do you think WWE would sign off on that? WWE may have control over some aspects of the video game license, and since the SvR series is the modern game they probably would be able to veto something like that, but, from the...
  12. Quote on Rumble Change

OK, I'll admit, that was off. He's no top worker, but I will say he's a better than average, consistent worker. He puts on pretty damn good TV matches just about every week on Superstars, whenever he makes an appearence that is. Top worker, you're right no. But he's definately a solid hand...
  13. Quote on Rumble Change

I didn't say he was THE most popular, I said he was ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR. Look at the crowd reactions the guy gets. Ever since he was the big heel on ECW then got drafted to RAW, the guy has been insanely popular with live crowds. I don't get it either but that doesn't change the fact that...
  14. Greatest Professional Wrestler of All Time Master Thread

Just wanted to bump this back to the top so others see if first. All the threads have been created for Round 1, remember to include your opinion AND cast your votes. I realize some of these first round matches are pretty weak but you have to get through this to get to the good stuff.
