I remember when he came out last month, that crowd was silent. Some claim it was due to the entrance theme they gave him, but I'm not so sure. I don't believe he's as over to the NXT crowd as Trick is.
I never said that, I'm saying he shouldn't have the top prize on NXT this soon, I just can't buy it. NA title? Sure, but Trick is very over, he should still be the top dog. Getting a catchphrase over is Babyface 101, yeet?
The story just isn't good enough IMO, I'm more interested in Drew vs Punk, and I don't think a non title match should be overshadowing one of you co-main events in terms of interest. Gunther is just there to take the belt off, it could be anyone in his spot.
He should've been at least IC champ, and as someone who was in the IWC then, I wasn't the only one who thought so. People were not digging Curtis Axel at the time.
So then what's he even doing in NXT to begin with? They should be making room for those who need development to have these runs, not ones who apparently have everything they need to be on the main roster.
I think it's beyond annoying, let's just let everyone cut the line because they're an indy darling who was in TNA and AEW, he's not even an AJ Styles who was world champion before coming to WWE.
The latter. Although my problem here is them proclaiming it's the Trick Williams era and then he loses the belt in 2 and a half months, kind of a short "era".
I don't think that speaks very well to their confidence in other guys already in NXT, a few years ago, there would be plenty of guys they would consider putting the belt on before a guy who just got there.
