WWE Monday Night Raw
November 2nd, 2009
Worchester, Massachusetts

The show gets a cold opening this week. Instead of kicking off inside the arena for the usual hullabaloo, we instead open inside of the office of the Raw General Manager. Dressed in a professional suit and tie, RAW GENERAL MANAGER MIKE ADAMLE sits behind his desk. He shuffles some paper on his desk and then clears his throat before speaking.

Mike Adamle: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Monday Night Raw… We’ve got a stacked show for you all tonight, so I’ll keep this brief. I have an announcement to make for the upcoming Survivor Series. At Homecoming last week, there was the type of altercation that could shake the foundations of the entirety of Monday Night Raw. Coming off last week’s altercation, I’ve booked a match for Survivor Series. The Raw Survivor Series Elimination match will be a five versus five with Team John Cena facing Team Vladimir Koslov.

The announcement gets a HUGE positive reception from the fans, as we aren’t all that far from Cena’s hometown. Getting the reaction he wanted, Adamle smiles, before we now head to ringside to continue with the show…

After the opening match, we head to the commentary station where MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER went over the rest of tonight’s card. The card includes Chris Jericho and Ted DiBiase vs. John Cena and Rey Mysterio, CM Punk defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against ECW’s Jack Swagger, and the main event of D Generation X vs. WWE Champion Randy Orton and Vladimir Koslov…

Before heading to a break, we transition to a locker room in the back, where WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION CM PUNK is performing some stretching, preparing for his title defense later tonight. After a few moments, Punk stands upright, fists clenched as JOHN CENA walks into the room. Cena looks down at Punk’s fists and smirks at his hubris before speaking.

John Cena: I’m not here for a fight, Punk, but I have been searching up and down this arena looking for you. I know you’ve got a big match tonight, but I’ve got something to ask you. I want you; will you be on my team for Survivor Series?

You can see Punk mulling it over right there in front of Cena.

CM Punk: Before I make my decision, I’ve got a question of my own for you. Are you going to ask your new pal John Morrison to be on the team? I need to know this because I hate Morrison.

Cena looks a little uncomfortable for a second but shrugs it off.

John Cena: I haven’t decided who else I want to ask; you were the first person that came to mind… But regardless of who else fills the team, I’m asking you as a favor between friends.

Punk cocks his head, genuine confusion showing from his facial expression.

CM Punk: I didn’t realize we were friends, John, but having a favor in my back pocket sounds like a good idea to me. I’ll do it, I’ll join the team, and when Morrison lets the team down, which he undoubtedly will, then the two of us will carry the team anyway.

Cena is a little taken aback at the confidence/arrogance from Punk there. The IC Champ doesn’t notice though, returning to stretching, as Cena leaves the locker room…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Match Two

Chris Jericho and Ted DiBiase w/Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena and Rey Mysterio

This was a really fun match. Cena and Rey apparently make quite the team, dominating early on, as they manage to blend their power and speed. Based on their long term rival and just how awesome their chemistry is, anytime Mysterio and Jericho get in together, the match rules. Still, the faces continued to dominate with Cena working on Jericho, until Cena bounces off the ropes to build some momentum… BUT CODY TRIPS CENA FROM THE FLOOR!!!

Cena falls face first and quickly gets up, rubbing at his jaw… WHEN JERICHO RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A BIG DOUBLE BACK ELBOW TO THE FACE!!!

And now, with the turning point of the match, Jericho and DiBiase are able to isolate Cena from his corner. They beat on him at will, and of course, with Cody at ringside to distract the referee, they cheat plenty as well. The heat period doesn’t last so long early in the match though, as Cena manages to turn the tables on DiBiase. ‘The Million Dollar Man’ landed some right hands, before whipping Cena into the ropes, but Cena returned and ran through DiBiase with a Clothesline!

The amount of effort Cena put into that Clothesline meant he fell forward. With both men down on the canvas, Cena begins to crawl across the ring… HOT TAG TO MYSTERIO!!!

NO!!! JERICHO COMES IN ILLEGALLY AND GRABS CENA’S FOOT… DRAGGING HIM AWAY FROM THE CORNER!!!

Frustrated at the tactics from their opponents, Mysterio notices DiBiase getting back up… SPRINGBOARD CROSSBODY FROM MYSTERIO TAKES OUT BOTH JERICHO AND DIBIASE!!!

Whilst Cena remains down, his foot now out of the grasp of Jericho, both the heels work back to their feet. Adjusting his mask ever so slightly, Rey runs the ropes to pick up the pace… REY CATCHES BOTH OPPONENTS WITH A FLYING HEADSCISSORS/ARM DRAG COMBINATION!!!

In a bit of trouble, both Jericho and DiBiase roll underneath the bottom rope and to the outside. They look set to regroup, but Mysterio wants to keep the momentum going. Mysterio bounces off the ropes to build some speed… BUT CODY NOW TRIPS MYSTERIO FROM OUTSIDE THE RING!!!

Much like Cena earlier, Mysterio falls forward, but this time, Cody drags Mysterio out of the ring and to the floor. Rhodes looks set to do some illegal damage to Rey, when Cody gets spun around and nailed with a right hand…

BY JOHN MORRISON!!!

Cody is forced to forget all about Mysterio, as suddenly, he finds himself in a brawl at ringside with JoMo. They continue to have a heated brawl, travelling all the way up the ramp, and through the curtain to the backstage area. With the outside interference element of the match hopefully taken care of, we cut to commercials.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Back from the break, and Cena is somehow still being isolated by Jericho and DiBiase. With the match now two on two and no more interference though, Cena is able to fight back. He starts catching DiBiase with right hands, landing a series of them, causing DiBiase to back against the ropes. Cena takes a few steps back before charging forward… CENA CLOTHESLINES DIBIASE OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Absolutely exhausted, Cena now collapses to the canvas, struggling. He slowly crawls towards his corner, the path clear with DiBiase on the outside… CENA FINALLY GETS THE TAG TO MYSTERIO!!!

BUT THE REFEREE IMMEDIATELY INTERVENES WHEN MYSTERIO RUNS IN…

BECAUSE JERICHO ENTERED THE RING ILLEGALLY RIGHT BEFORE CENA MAKE THE TAG… DISTRACTING THE REFEREE!!!

The referee never saw the tag! As the referee admonishes Mysterio and ushers him back to his corner, Jericho drags Cena back to the heels side of the ring. DiBiase reenters the ring now and alongside Jericho, begins stomping the life out of Cena. They keep the double team mauling going, before dragging Cena up and sending him bouncing off the ropes. When Cena comes back… DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE FROM JERICHO AND DIBIASE!!!

NO!!! CENA DUCKS…

AND THEN SHOVES JERICHO HARD, CAUSING HIM TO COLLIDE WITH DIBIASE!!!

Cena then somehow stumbles across the ring… MYSTERIO FINALLY GETS THE HOT TAG!!!

Jericho works back to his feet, trying to shake out the cobwebs… MYSTERIO ENTERS THE RING WITH A SPRINGBOARD SEATED SENTON TO JERICHO!!!

As Mysterio gets back to his feet, DiBiase charges at him, but Rey gets a Dropkick to the knee. The shot causes DiBiase to lose his footing and fall forward… DIBIASE ACCIDENTALLY HEADBUTTS JERICHO IN THE NUTS!!!

An embarrassed DiBiase tries to scramble to his feet as quickly as possible, making to his knees… ROUNDHOUSE KICK FROM MYSTERIO!!!

REY PINS DIBIASE…1…2…NO!!! TED GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Getting back to his feet, Rey heads to the apron before climbing up to the top rope. Remaining perched on top, Mysterio watches intently, until it’s Jericho who gets to his feet first, so Rey takes flight… FLYING HURRICANRANA!!!

NO!!! JERICHO REVERSES IT INTO A POWERBOMB!!!

Jericho takes a step back… SO DIBIASE CAN COVER REY…1…2…NO!!! MYSTERIO GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Mysterio shows resilience but is in trouble, as DiBiase quickly brings Rey back up… MILLION DOLLAR SWEEPSTAKES!!!

NO!!! CENA RUNS THROUGH JERICHO AND DIBIASE WITH A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

Knowing he’s not the legal man, Cena focuses on Jericho first, grabbing him and throwing him over the top rope and to the outside. After taking care of that business, Cena turns around to DiBiase throwing a right hand. Cena ducks… AND NAILS TED WITH A PROTO BOMB!!!

Cena stands tall, getting a huge ovation from his home state, before bouncing off the ropes and dusting off that shoulder… FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!!

Getting a huge pop from the fans, Cena takes a step back and watches as DiBiase stumbles to his feet, when Rey Dropkicks him in the back, causing DiBiase to fall with his upper body draped over the middle rope. Mysterio runs off the ropes, dialing it up… 619!!!

DiBiase stumbled but remains on his feet, as Mysterio remains on the apron… SPRINGBOARD…

NO!!! JERICHO COMES FROM NOWHERE AND PUSHES REY’S LEGS BACK, CAUSING HIM TO GET HUNG UP ON THE TOP ROPE!!!

Jericho stands on the apron now, a devious smirk on his face, until an annoyed Cena runs at him… JERICHO DROPS DOWN AND PULLS DOWN THE TOP ROPE… LOW BRIDGING CENA OUT TO THE FLOOR!!!

Jericho steps into the ring now, finding the damaged Mysterio still down on the canvas. Mouthing off as only he can, Jericho drags Rey into the corner, before landing a few right hands. He then hoists Mysterio up onto the top rope. As this is happening, DiBiase manages to battle back to his feet… WHEN CENA DROPS HIM A FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

Jericho doesn’t notice as he continues hammering away at Rey, softening him up for a high risk move… But then Jericho is interrupted as Cena comes from behind, and takes Jericho off the top rope, holding him in an Electric Chair position. CENA THEN FALLS BACK… HITTING THE ELECTRIC CHAIR DROP…

SENDING JERICHO FALLING ON TOP OF DIBIASE!!!

With both the heels stacked on top of each other, Mysterio has recovered on the top rope… FLYING SPLASH CONNECTS!!!

Mysterio rolls off of Jericho, selling the impacts, allowing Jericho to roll off of the squashed DiBiase… REY THEN HOOKS DIBIASE’S LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: John Cena and Rey Mysterio @ 16:47

The pop is tremendous once the result is finalized, with Cena and Mysterio sharing a celebratory hug inside of the ring. The two men continue to celebrate their hard fought victory, whilst Jericho storms up the ramp and to the back. DiBiase is left behind inside of the ring as Jericho leaves, clearly unhappy with the result…

Now we cut to inside the locker room of D GENERATION X, where the two DX members, and joint number one contenders for the WWE Championship, SHAWN MICHAELS and TRIPLE H prepare for their match tonight. As usual, they are donned in DX green, but there’s less fun and more heaviness in both men’s eyes tonight.

Triple H: Listen, Shawn, obviously I love DX and I love you like a brother, but the WWE Championship is why I do this. At Survivor Series, I want to make it crystal clear. You’ll still be my brother afterwards, but it will be every man for himself.

Hunter looks right into Shawn’s eyes, he’s not being aggressive, actually quite earnest. Shawn nods his head, seemingly agreeing.

Shawn Michaels: I’m glad you said something, Hunter, I agree with you one hundred percent, and I know we’d be cool again once I win the title.

Shawn smirks, but the smirk is quickly removed as H laughs out loud at the notion of Michaels winning the title at Survivor Series.

Triple H: Good one, Shawn, that’s hysterical but here’s what’ll actually happen. I’ll be fine shaking hands with you after I win the title over both you and Orton.

Both men look serious now, not arguing, but their want for the WWE Title makes things complicated. They go back to lacing their boots, that uneasiness, that heaviness still lingering in the air…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break and we are backstage, where JOHN CENA is all smiles. He pats REY MYSTERIO on the back, pleased by their victory, when the camera pans out to reveal JOHN MORRISON approaching them. Cena shakes Morrison’s hand, knowing he played apart in the victory tonight also. Morrison and Rey also shake hands, and everybody’s happy when Cena awkwardly clears his throat.

John Cena: Ah, look guys, I hate to be the one to get all serious suddenly, but I’ve got to do this now. Firstly, John, thanks for the assist out there, we couldn’t have done that without you. Secondly, Rey, it was an absolute pleasure teaming with you, and I don’t want this to be the only time that happens. I guess I’m asking both of you to be on my Survivor Series team.

Rey doesn’t even need to think about it.

Rey Mysterio: Sure man, I’m in. I’ve got you.

Cena and Mysterio share another handshake, whilst Morrison ponders on it for another moment or two.

John Morrison: You know what? I’m in too.

Cena smiles, happy with both men’s decisions.

John Cena: Okay, amazing, thank you both. That’s four down and now I just need to find another.

Both Morrison and Mysterio (assumedly under his mask) look curious.

John Morrison: Just so we know who we’re working with here, who’s your other guy?

Cena’s expression softens; it’s almost like he knows this is going to be a touchy subject.

John Cena: It’s CM Punk… I asked Punk earlier.

All eyes are on Morrison as he nods his head, not causing a commotion, but it’s easy to see by the change in his expression that he’s a little displeased. The others don’t seem to notice though, and on that note, we head to ringside for the next match…

A little later on in the night, our cameras follow the hulking back of VLADIMIR KOSLOV walking through the backstage area, until he finds and enters the LEGACY locker room. All of Legacy are in there, WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON, MR. KENNEDY, CODY RHODES and TED DIBIASE, and as usual, amongst their company, albeit disappointed with earlier tonight is CHRIS JERICHO. Everybody tenses up as Koslov walks in without knocking, but Orton keeps his cool.

Randy Orton: Thanks for joining us, Vladimir. Now that we’re all here, I wanted to discuss business important to all of us.

The entire room has their gaze fixed on Orton, interested in what he has to say.

Randy Orton: We all know that in tonight’s main event, Vladimir and I are teaming to take on DX. Since you’re taking care of a problem for me and assisting me tonight, Vladimir, I want to do the same for you. I would like to offer you the four in front of you as your Survivor Series team.

The remainder of Legacy and Jericho all stand, seemingly knowing this was coming. Koslov doesn’t reaction initially, so Orton points at Jericho.

Randy Orton: This man, Chris Jericho, he was the first ever Undisputed Champion. To his left, Mr. Kennedy is the brightest young star in the WWE, and as for Cody and Ted, well Priceless held the tag titles longer than anyone in two decades.

With the selling of the team done, Orton remains silent, watching Koslov intently, allowing him time to make his decision. Koslov sizes them up, looking each man up and down, his face showing no inclination as to how he feels.

Vladimir Koslov: Okay. I accept.

Without another word, Koslov turns and leaves the locker room. This business is done and Orton looks satisfied with how that panned out, as the show cuts to a break.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Match Four
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

CM Punk (c) defends against Jack Swagger (ECW) w/Elijah Burke

They start things out on the mat, but unlike Punk’s usual title defenses, he’s unable to control things with his basic Side Headlock tonight. Instead, the bigger, more powerful, more technically skilled Swagger uses his amateur wrestling background to repeatedly dominate Punk on the mat. The IC Champ tries to use the Side Headlock to keep Swagger grounded and not allow him to put together chains, but it’s unsuccessful.

Swagger continues to use his power and size to bully Punk around the ring, really taking control. Needing to change things up, Punk breaks the wrestling chain and starts sticking and moving some more, focusing on kicking at the legs of the challenger. Initially Swagger tries to walk through them, but as Punk continues to land, Swagger starts to limp ever so slightly.

Seeing that this is working, Punk looks to land another leg kick… No! Swagger catches it… SO PUNK CATCHES SWAGGER WITH AN ENZUIGURI!!!

Not enjoying the feeling of Punk’s boot to the back of his head, Swagger rolls outside of the ring to regroup. He doesn’t really get a moment to do so, as Punk immediately runs across the ring… BASEBALL SLIDE DROPKICK KNOCKS DOWN SWAGGER!!!

Punk’s body doesn’t completely leave the ring, so he crawls back in. The champ watches carefully, until Swagger works back to his feet, so Punk bounces off the ropes and sprints towards him… TOPE SUICIDA TAKES OUT SWAGGER!!!

Much to the delight of the fans, Punk is on fire as he gets up and raises his hands in the air. As Punk works up the fans, Swagger grabs at his left knee, complaining of an injury. Concerned, the referee exits the ring to do an assessment on Swagger, who is literally screaming in agony. With the referee distracted… BURKE COMES FROM BEHIND AND THROWS PUNK INTO THE RINGPOST!!!

The blatant cheating gets heat from the crowd, as Punk immediately holds his face. Swagger now motions to the referee that he’s okay, albeit he does remain down. With both men down and Burke having jogged far away from Punk, so the referee isn’t suspicious, we cut to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

As we come back from the break, Punk is leaning against the turnbuckles in the corner of the ring. Swagger comes charging in after him with a full head of steam… Corner Clothesline! No, Punk dodges the attack, escaping the corner as Swagger goes chest first into the turnbuckles. Swagger grabs at his sternum and stumbles backwards out of the corner, as Punk steps through the ropes and heads to the apron.

PUNK SPRINGBOARDS…

NO!!! ELIJAH BURKE GRABS PUNK’S FOOT FROM OUTSIDE OF THE RING!!!

BUT PUNK MANAGES TO KICK HIM AWAY…

AND THEN NAIL SWAGGER WITH THE SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE!!!

PUNK HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! SWAGGER GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The IC Champ gets back to his feet, pulling Swagger up with him, only to start decimating Swagger’s mid-section with knees. Punk then takes a step back to create some distance and throws a kick, but Swagger captures the leg and uses it to pull Punk into a CAPTURE SUPLEX!!!

The big throw does some damage to Punk, as now Swagger is able to work over the back and mid-section of Punk. As this is happening, on commentary they talk about the crazy schedule Punk has kept as champion, and the fact that he’ll be champion for three months if he wins tonight’s match. Things are looking dark for Punk though, as Swagger continues his assault, and Burke interferes on the outside when necessary.

As Burke kept getting involved, even if it was just distracting the ref so Swagger could cheat… PAUL LONDON ran down to the ring and fought Burke to the back. The loss of his backup distracted and upset Swagger, meaning he takes to long to attempt a CORNER CLOTHESLINE… PUNK MOVES OUT OF THE WAY!!!

With Swagger now in the corner, Punk runs to the opposite corner, before coming back… BIG CORNER KNEE CONNECTS!!!

FOLLOWED BY THE BULLDOG OUT OF THE CORNER!!!

Both men remain down after that, the referee beginning his count. Both men get up slowly, around the count of six, but when they meet in the center of the ring, Punk tees off with some more of his hard kicks. As Punk looks to be taking over, DOLPH ZIGGLER RUNS DOWN AND CLIMBS ONTO THE APRON!!!

Punk sees him immediately and decks Ziggler with a right hand, knocking him off the apron. When Punk turns back to face his opponent, the recovered Swagger runs through the champ with a Clothesline! Ziggler is right back up, applauding Swagger, when another ECW man, KOFI KINGSTON RUNS DOWN AND THROWS ZIGGLER INTO THE RINGPOST!!!

Inside the ring, SWAGGER HAS PUNK SET UP FOR THE OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE!!!

NO!!! HE’S DISTRACTED BY KOFI TAKING CARE OF ZIGGLER… SO PUNK MANAGES TO SWIVEL OUT BEHIND SWAGGER!!!

A panicked Swagger immediately turns to face Punk… BUT COPS A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!!!

Swagger’s dazed but remains on his feet, so Punk pops Swagger up onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

PUNK GETS THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: CM Punk @ 17:12

After yet another big title defense, Punk gets given the title by the referee and celebrates to the cheers of the crowd. As this is happening, Kofi and Ziggler brawl through the crowd, providing adequate hype for some ECW stuff in this universe.

Punk can’t help but watch on, a bemused look on his face… WHEN PUNK GETS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND!!!

BY MR. KENNEDY!!!

Kennedy pummels Punk and beats him down, before picking him up and throwing him outside of the ring. Ignoring the heat from the fans, Kennedy follows Punk to the outside, before grabbing him… AND KENNEDY IRISH WHIPS PUNK INTO THE STEEL RING STEPS!!!

The impact of the collision between Punk and stairs causes the top half of the steps to dislodge and fall off. Kennedy sees this and his eyes glint with an idea. He grabs Punk and drags him onto the bottom platform of the ring steps… KENNEDY DRILLS PUNK WITH A MIC CHECK ON THE BOTTOM OF THE STEEL STEPS!!!

Holy crap! Punk is motionless after the blow, in a lot of trouble. Meanwhile, favoring his back ever so slightly, Kennedy gets back up and raises his hand in celebration, being met with more boos from the fans.

The final shot is of Kennedy standing over Punk as cut to the next scene…

Backstage, walking down a hallway are both RANDY ORTON and VLADIMIR KOSLOV. As they walk side by side, Orton turns to Koslov.

Randy Orton: Vladimir, do you remember the plan?

Koslov simply nods, continuing down the hallway as the show cuts to the final commercial break of the night…

Before the main event, we get a video package…

Match Five
D Generation X vs. Randy Orton and Vladimir Koslov

There’s no wasted motion from DX here, as they start things off with a sprint like mentality. They go at both Orton and the undefeated monster with as much vim and vigour as they have. Whilst the referee is trying his hardest to gain some order, DX have a successful start. TRIPLE H MANAGES TO HIT ORTON WITH THE KNEE FACEBUSTER!!!

Orton remained on his feet after the move, albeit spaghetti legged, so H grabbed him and threw him outside of the ring. Michaels was doing his best to try and stick and move on Koslov, but to little affect. With Orton disposed of, H joins the fight and in a two on one situation, DX start to get on top of Koslov. They hammer away at him, until Orton sneaks in the ring… AND CATCHES MICHAELS WITH THE INVERTED CHINLOCK BACKBREAKER!!!

Back to a one on one situation, Koslov immediately overpowers Triple H, throwing him across the ring with a SIDE BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!!

The move drives all of the air out of the body of Triple H, causing him to roll underneath the bottom rope and to the outside. This allows arguably the top two heels on the roster to isolate Michaels now, focusing on the head and neck area of HBK. To their credit, the heels dominate Michaels on merit, as they don’t cheat, they are just super brutal with their torturous offense.

In his typical methodical fashion, Orton is especially brutal, landing brutal stomp after stomp right on top of Michaels’ head. Eventually, Orton drags Michaels up and lands some more right hands, before sending him off the ropes… BUT MICHAELS COMES BACK WITH THE FLYING FOREARM!!!

Understanding the urgency of things, both men immediately start crawling to their respective corners, and both Triple H and Koslov get tagged in. H uses his speed advantage and freshness to beat Koslov to the punch… BEFORE RUNNING THROUGH KOSLOV WITH A CLOTHESLINE… BUT KOSLOV DOESN’T BUDGE!!!

H takes a few steps back and runs at Koslov… SECOND CLOTHESLINE STAGGERS KOSLOV BUT HE REMAINS ON HIS FEET!!!

H looks shocked but this time goes all the way and bounces off the ropes, Koslov swings for a Clotheslines…No! Triple H ducks, bounces off the opposite side ropes… AND FINALLY THE THIRD CLOTHESLINE TAKES KOSLOV OFF HIS FEET!!!

Panicking at the big man going down, Orton gets into the ring illegally… RUNNING STRAIGHT INTO A HIGH KNEE FROM TRIPS!!!

As H turns to face Koslov, he’s back at his feet and runs with a Clothesline… NO!!! TRIPLE H DUCKS AND KOSLOV ACCIDENTALLY CLOTHESLINES ORTON!!!

Koslov pauses, in shock… WHEN MICHAELS COMES OFF THE TOP WITH A FLYING DOUBLE AXE HANDLE!!!

Koslov staggers backwards, but again remains on his feet, but then DX link hands… AND THEY RUN THROUGH KOSLOV WITH A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

With Koslov down, Orton staggered to his feet, only for Trips to meet him with a few right hands. ‘The Game’ then whips Orton into the ropes, and when he returns… TRIPS CATCHES HIM WITH A DOUBLE A SPINEBUSTER!!!

DX are looking good here, working as a unit, as Shawn was already waiting on the top rope… FLYING ELBOW DROP TO ORTON!!!

DX get the fans going, looking to celebrate, until Michaels notices that Koslov has gotten back up. HBK runs over to him, but Koslov catches him… OVERHEAD BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX SENDS MICHAELS FLYING OVER THE TOP ROPE AND OUT TO THE FLOOR!!!

Wow! A brutal landing from Michaels who can’t do anything except hold his problematic back on the cold concrete. Now wanting to focus on Triple H, the eager Koslov runs at him, but the veteran catches Koslov with a kick to the gut… PEDIGREE!!!

NO!!! KOSLOV POWERS OUT WITH A BACK BODY DROP!!!

Grabbing at his back, H gets up pretty quickly, when Koslov hits a Lariat!!! No… H ducks and begins teeing off on the immovable object with right hands. Koslov is staggered but refuses to go down, so like earlier, H looks to bounce off the ropes to build some momentum… ORTON GRABS TRIPLE H’S FOOT FROM THE OUTSIDE, STOPPING HIM FROM RUNNING!!!

H hurriedly kicks Orton away, freeing himself, BUT WALKED INTO THE HEADBUTT TO THE CHEST FROM KOSLOV!!!

Hunter falls down as if he’s been shot, clutching at his chest. With one of his challengers for Survivor Series down, Orton immediately gets onto the apron and offers his hand for the tag. Koslov sees it and obliges, tagging in Orton, who stalks H, waiting for him to eventually get back up… RKO!!!

ORTON HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Randy Orton and Vladimir Koslov @ 7:30

The fans give some heat for the result, but whilst the match is over, the action is not. Feeling confident after the victory, Orton barked orders over at Koslov, “GET MICHAELS AND BRING HIM IN HERE”!

Koslov is surprisingly an obedient solider, grabbing Michaels through the ropes and pulling him back inside of the ring. Once Shawn is back inside, both men stomp all over him, again focusing on his back…

UNTIL JOHN CENA, JOHN MORRISON AND REY MYSTERIO SLIDE INSIDE THE RING!!!

Before they can get in, Orton immediately bails but Koslov doesn’t. He stays to fight as Morrison and Mysterio engage him in a two on one. Cena looks set to join in as well… BUT CENA GETS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND!!!

BY CHRIS JERICHO, CODY RHODES AND TED DIBIASE!!!

They beatdown Cena, but then along with Koslov, they overwhelm Morrison and Mysterio as well. The heels have the numbers advantage and maintain control, with Orton instructing from the outside, “TAKE THEM AWAY, WE’VE GOT TO FINISH MICHAELS”!

As per Orton’s request, that’s exactly what happens. Priceless and Jericho brawl with Cena, Mysterio and Morrison. Initially the heels have control, but the faces fight back and their chaotic brawl disappears through the curtain and to the back.

Inside of the ring, Koslov stills stands, dragging Michaels up… KOSLOV DRILLS MICHAELS WITH AN STO!!!

Now that the danger has passed, the WWE Champion is back inside the ring. Orton looks down at Michaels, before dragging him up and throwing him outside of the ring. Standing tall, Orton looks set to own the ring with Koslov by his side, when he notices Triple H making it to all fours on the opposite of the ring.

Suddenly, something within Orton changes. His eyes go wide as he backs into his owner corner of the ring. He begins tapping his foot on the mat, ready to charge at Triple H WITH THE PUNT!!!

WHEN…

***I WALK ALONE***

HOLY SHIT!!! The fans lose their minds as Orton looks worried, stopping on the spot. The champs fears come to fruition as BATISTA RUNS DOWN THE RAMP AND SLIDES INTO THE RING!!!

The pop is huge for Batista, who has not been since Summerslam back in August. Koslov runs at Batista and looks for a Clothesline… No… Batista ducks under it… AND PRESSES FORWARD… RUNNING THROUGH ORTON WITH A SPEAR!!!

Koslov looks to approach Batista again, but now Big Dave runs through Koslov with a Clothesline! Unlike earlier, Koslov immediately drops down, but he gets back up quickly… FOR BATISTA TO MANHANDLE HIM WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!!

We haven’t seen anybody treat the undefeated Koslov like this before! Batista stomps around the ring, looking at the crowd, before giving the thumbs up, and then the thumbs down.

It’s pandemonium inside the arena, but the ovation changes to heat. Batista looks to land the Powerbomb on Orton, but the champ grabs his title and quickly flees up the ramp.

Koslov manages to leave the ring as well, but the look of concern on Orton’s face is clear to see. Meanwhile, inside the ring, ‘The Animal’ continues to get cheered, and he signals for the WWE Title to be around his waist.

The final image of the show is Batista, standing tall, having made his triumphant return…

News And Notes

There has been word leaked that the November 16th episode of Raw emanating from Madison Square Garden will have a huge name in the pro wrestling industry involved. It’s likely the person will act as a one night only on screen authority figure. Negotiations on a hand shake agreement for the one night only appearance have yet to be finalized, however the WWE are hoping to be in a position to make the announcement on this week’s edition of Raw.

Speaking of this week’s edition of Raw, it’s the annual Raw trip to the United Kingdom. It’s likely the show will be written with certain characters, maybe playing roles they wouldn’t normally, in the aim to get a certain response from the crowd.

November 9th, 2009
Liverpool, United Kingdom
Echo Arena

The show opens up in the expected ceremonious fashion, opening video package, opening pyro, and the Brits are making a hell of a lot of noise. Excitement is in the air, as the smoke from the pyro rises throughout the arena, and the cameras pan through the audience, focusing on a bunch of people with bad dental and soccer team jerseys. Anyway, the noise is deafening because the one thing UK fans know how to do is make some noise. It continues until the camera focuses on ringside, where RAW GENERAL MANAGER MIKE ADAMLE is standing in the ring to start the show. Wearing a standard looking black business suit, Adamle smiles as he puts the mic in his hand to work.

Mike Adamle: Liverpool… Welcome to Monday Night Raw!!! Now as you all know, the WWE has been touring Europe over the past four days, and the trip has been a success in every possible way. I’m sure we’ll be back next year, but I want to promise you all, we’re going to put on an all time episode of Raw tonight to end the tour with a bang.

Big pop from the fans which brings a smile to the GM’S face. Once the crowd hushes, Adamle looks set to continue speaking when…

***VOICES***

A LOUD pop quickly disintegrates into venomous heat as the WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON saunters through the curtain, the rest of LEGACY behind either shoulder. That’s CODY RHODES, MR. KENNEDY and TED DIBIASE bringing up the rear. Adamle looks surprised by the interruption, but as Orton gets into the ring, he looks Adamle up and down, a perplexed look on his own face.

Randy Orton: Ugh, honestly, you make me sick. Instead of deliberating and making the right decisions, you come out here and try and please these people and be everybody’s favorite. Stop pandering to these people, that’s not your job… But let me tell you what I’ve noticed over the last few days travelling through Europe and especially the UK. I’ve realized why the WWE hardly comes overseas because it’s atrocious over here.

Orton’s voice and face are laced with disdain and contempt. The fans shower him mercilessly with heat, as Legacy snickers at his remarks in the background. Adamle shakes his head in disagreement as well but before either can speak anymore…

***BREAK IT DOWN***

Arguably the most enthusiastic pop since their return hits as D GENERATION X make their entrance as the arena is bathed in green light. Despite both facing Orton for the WWE Title at Survivor Series, SHAWN MICHAELS and TRIPLE H are both on the same page, enjoying themselves as they interact with the crowd on their way down the ramp. The two multiple time World Champs pull mics out of their pockets, assessing who they’ve just stepped into the ring.

Triple H: We were sitting in the back watching the show on a monitor, and we couldn’t help but interrupt. This show needed an infusion of DX real quick because quite frankly, it was at risk of becoming boring in quite a hurry. Mike Adamle, being that you’re our boss, and that you’re dressed like a funeral, you’re safe…

Laughter from the crowd as Adamle looks slightly relieved.

Shawn Michaels: As for our WWE Champion Randy Orton, we have a simple request. When you make your grand entrance, listening to the voices and all that fun stuff, can you walk a little faster? You’re so slow, so methodical as that dweeb Michael Cole would say, that we all aged two years and started reconsidering our life choices by the time you got to the ring.

Pop for the fans, but Orton is clearly agitated.

Triple H: Your harem around you can take the same advice too…

Now the rest of Legacy aren’t happy either.

Shawn Michaels: Oh, you’re all mad? Well, it’s a good thing, we don’t give a damn. You see, you might walk around here like you’re all important, but we’re D Generation X. We were the original big, bad gang in WWE.

Both members of DX wear big smirks on their faces, reliving the glory days.

Triple H: We heard what you said about the tour too, Randy, and honestly, we disagree. Europe wasn’t that bad so far at all, but we know what’s got your knickers in a knot. You’re just throwing a hissy fit because there’s no way you can beat both of us, and you will most likely lose your title at the Survivor Series.

The fans agree, Orton does not, and the tension builds. Legacy look to be getting a bit twitchy, ready to fight, but before all hell can break loose…

***REGALITY***

The entire arena starts shaking due to the noise, and even though he’s normally a heel, in his home country, WILLIAM REGAL is greeted as a hero. Regal keeps one hand tucked behind his back, gentleman like, pompously waving, before wiping his feet on the apron and getting inside the nearly full ring. Regal gets a mic from a ringside crew member but has to wait for a “REGAL” chant from the fans to die down before he can speak.

William Regal: I’ll start with DX. You said the United Kingdom is not bad and whilst I appreciate the sentiment from you two buffoons, I know better than to believe it. Not only are you 40 year olds pretending to be 25, but there’s also more than that. You’re both also incredibly disingenuous.

The fans can’t get enough of Regal, continuing to cheer as he pauses for a bear or two.

William Regal: We’re in my home country and if anyone will defend this land, it’s not going to be DX. It’s me, and to really wave the flag here tonight, Randy Orton, I’m challenging you to a match tonight!

Approval rings true throughout the rafters, but Orton scoffs at the challenge.

Randy Orton: No, I refuse. In case you haven’t heard, I’ve got an unfair two against one title defense in under two weeks’ time, I need to protect myself for the Survivor Series.

Boos as basically everybody inside the arena except for Legacy roll their eyes at Orton’s response.

Triple H: Whoa, hold on a second. Speaking of unfair, if me and Shawn have to team with Cena tonight against Jericho and Priceless, Orton should be in action as well. And I agree with Regal’s challenge, Orton should have to wrestle the guy with the biggest nose in the WWE.

Regal touches his nose, while Michaels comically keeps looking towards and then back at H, squinting to really zoom in on their facial features.

Shawn Michaels: I hate to break it to you, Hunter, but I’m pretty sure Regal has the second biggest nose in the WWE.

Triple H can’t help but laugh, touching at his own nose, but it seems all the joking and interruptions has inspired something.

Mike Adamle: Alright, enough of this. We need to move on with the show, and I just happen to have an idea.

All eyes are on the GM now; everybody is listening intently.

Mike Adamle: We already had a match involving William Regal which was supposed to commence the in ring action tonight. It was supposed to be Regal teaming with ECW’s Dolph Ziggler versus Paul London and ECW’s Low Ki next, but I’ve decided to make a change. As everybody has pointed out in the last few minutes, we hardly come to the UK, so we need to make the most of our time here. The United Kingdom deserves a title match, so the previously scheduled tag team match is now a Fatal Four Way. Not only that, but the winner will challenge Orton for the WWE Championship in the main event!

An affirmative response comes from the fans and Regal nods his head. Adamle instructs them to do so, and all the wrestlers start leaving the ring, except for the excited Regal. Adamle nods his head at Regal, wishing him luck before leaving the ring also…

We then quickly head down to commentary where MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER remind us that outside of the opener, and the main event WWE Championship match, we’ve still got other matches on a stacked card, including Chris Jericho and Priceless versus D Generation X and John Cena in a Six Man Tag Team Match. They then send us to the break, promising that the opening match will get going when we return…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Match One

Fatal Four Way
Number One Contenders Match for WWE Championship
Dolph Ziggler (ECW)
vs. Low Ki (ECW) vs. Paul London vs. William Regal

It’s a four way including some of the quicker men in the company, so this one is pretty much constant, entertaining action right from the start. Even though it’s every man for himself, there are moment’s where the original scheduled tag team match feels at play. Regal and Ziggler start up a loose of alliance of sorts, leading to Ziggler getting cheered by this partisan crowd, whilst Low Ki and London are forced to work together to survive.

Anytime we end up with just Low Ki and Regal in the ring, they engage in these horrifyingly violent strike battles. As the carnage and chaos continued, we got to a situation where Ki won a strike exchange with Regal, sending the hometown hero tumbling to the outside. Frustrated, Regal slaps the thin protective mats covering the concrete floor before hurrying to his feet… FLIPPING SENTON FROM LONDON TAKES OUT REGAL ON THE FLOOR!!!

Meanwhile, inside of the ring, Low Ki has the advantage on Ziggler… LANDING THE TIDAL KRUSH!!!

‘The Warrior’ isn’t finished, dragging the dazed Ziggler back to his feet, and hoists him high in the air… KI KRUSHER!!!

NO!!! ZIGGLER GETS OUT BEHIND KI, LANDING ON HIS FEET!!!

Ki turns as quickly as he can to face Ziggler but gets met with a kick to the gut. As Ki bends down, gasping for air… FAMEASSER FROM DOLPH!!!

ZIGGLER HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! LONDON DIVES OVER TO BREAK UP THE COUNT!!!

After clobbering Dolph to break up the count, London hammers away with some more right hands, keeping him at bay. As Ziggler backs into a corner, London places Ziggler in a seated position on the top rope. London lands a few more rights for good measure before climbing up to the top rope… LONDON LANDS A FRANKENSTEINER OFF THE TOP!!!

Only knowing one way, London scrambles back to his feet, looking for more high risk. This time he’s perched on top, watching the unmoving Ziggler… 450 SPLASH!!!

NO!!! REGAL TAKES OUT LONDON’S LEGS, CROTCHING HIM ON THE TOP ROPE BEFORE HE CAN LEAP OFF!!!

Having cleverly done that from the apron, Regal now steps through the ropes and back inside the ring… ONLY TO BE MET WITH A KOPPOU KICK FROM LOW KI!!!

Regal stumbled backwards, collapsing into the corner, owning Ki’s complete attention… WHEN ZIGGLER COMES FROM NOWHERE WITH THE PEACE ZIG!!!

DOLPH HOOKS KI’S LEG…1…2…NO!!! LONDON COMES OFF THE TOP WITH A 450 SPLASH TO BREAK UP THE COUNT!!!

The fans cheer loudly for the big time spot, but as London struggles to his feet, holding his mid-section… REGAL RUNS THROUGH LONDON WITH THE KNEE TREMBLER!!!

REGAL PINS LONDON…1…2… LOW KI JUST MANAGES TO CRAWL OVER AND SHOVE REGAL OFF THE COUNT!!!

A furious scowl comes over Regal’s face, as he looks and sees the battered Low Ki remaining down. It almost looks like Ki exerted his last bit of energy to break up the count. Sensing this, Regal drags Ki up to his feet, and there’s no resistance… REGAL PLEX CONNECTS!!!

REGAL PINS LOW KI…1…2…3!!!

Winner: William Regal @ 5:52

The crowd goes nuts as their hometown hero predictably wins this one. Regal gets back to his feet and celebrates, whilst the commentary team talk about how this is Low Ki from ECW’s first pinfall loss in the WWE.

We don’t care about that right now though, as Regal continues to enjoy the ovation, motioning that the WWE Championship would be around his waist by the end of the night…

In what we can only assume is the LEGACY locker room in the back, non-Legacy member but longtime associate of the group, CHRIS JERICHO, stands by with CODY RHODES and TED DIBIASE.

Chris Jericho: I don’t know where Randy is right now and I don’t care. Tonight’s another big night for the three of us. We need to function as a singular unit to offset the tension between DX and Cena.

Both Cody and Ted nod, affirming Jericho’s strategy.

Cody Rhodes: Agreed.

Ted DiBiase: Let’s do it.

The trio continue to chat, although now we lose the audio, as the camera slowly backs away and the show cuts to a break.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Back from the break, we needed some more pay per view hype…

***I WALK ALONE***

For the second week in a row, it’s the LOUDEST pop of the night, as the man who hasn’t been in action since Summerslam, BATISTA steps through the curtain. As always, Big Dave is dressed to the nines, light grey suit, light tinted shades, looking like a million bucks. He’s all smiles this week, slapping hands with fans before getting inside the ring and getting a mic. As he paces the ring, he’s forced to wait for the “BA-TIS-TA” chants to halt so he can be heard.

Batista: I know you Liverpool hooligans didn’t come here to listen to me talk all night, so I’ll make this short and sweet. You see, when Randy Orton punted me in the skull at Summerslam, he made a dire mistake. He didn’t finish the job. He cost me two and a half months of my career and a good amount of money, but he didn’t finish the job.

Fans cheer for ‘The Animal’ who continues to pace, wearing a smirk, but there’s intensity behind it.

Batista: But now I’m back and I’ve got two goals to complete. Goal number one, I’ve come back to HURT Randy Orton, and goal number two, I’ve come back to take the WWE Title.

Another nice pop for Big Dave.

Batista: I admit it’s crappy timing for me because I understand that a title match has been made for Survivor Series. But I couldn’t sit at the house any longer, it was driving me crazy, so after Survivor Series, listen closely, Randy, I’ll be achieving both my goals.

He takes his shades off, showing the fire in his eyes.

Batista: I didn’t come back just to kill time though, so I’ve decided to make some plans for myself at Survivor Series. I won’t be left off the card in my hometown, not a chance… What I’m saying is you can consider me the fifth man on Cena’s team.

Just like that, to cheers from the fans, without any further fanfare, ‘Tista drops the mic and exits the ring as his music plays. This of course leaves our commentary team to hype up the fact that Batista is on team Cena at Survivor Series. Our commentary duo then recaps and sends us to our next video package, a replay of the attack by Mr. Kennedy on CM Punk last week…

***

***

Once the video package is completed, we return to the announce desk.

Michael Cole: As we all just saw, such a disgusting display from Mr. Kennedy last week, and something really has to be done about this at this point. These two have been at each other’s throats for months.

Jerry Lawler: We’ll get a momentary reprieve this week because due to the attack, CM Punk isn’t here in the UK this week. It has been confirmed that the WWE Intercontinental Champion will return in Madison Square Garden next week.

Michael Cole: Speaking of next week, we’re still waiting on the announcement tonight from Raw General Manager Mike Adamle, confirming who the guest host of Raw will be next week. That and so much more when we return on Monday Night Raw!

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
A little later in the night we’re at the interview set where the vivacious KELLY KELLY is standing by.

Kelly Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time… JOHN CENA!!!

The UK fans get loud inside the arena as the camera pans out to reveal JOHN CENA. Already in his jean shorts, Cena looks ready for business, shooting KK a polite smile.

Kelly Kelly: Thanks for giving us this time so close to your match, John. I have to ask, considering your past matches and rivalries with both members of DX, Shawn Michaels and Triple H, how do you expect to coexist in your match tonight against Chris Jericho and Priceless?

There is genuine concern on the face of the innocent Kelly X2. Cena nods, smirking ever so slightly, he expected a question such as this.

John Cena: Maybe it’s what happens in the United Kingdom stays in the United Kingdom, Kelly, I don’t know. All I know is I sat down face to face with my tag partners earlier tonight, and me and DX have agreed to try and put the past behind us for tonight. We need to coexist to survive, and as far as I’m concerned, my unfinished business against Legacy and Jericho outweighs my issues with Triple H and my longstanding rivalry with Shawn.

Kelly thanks Cena for his time, before sending us to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Later on in the night, standing backstage by the interview set, chewing his gum as obnoxiously as possible is none other than MR. KENNEDY. The platinum blonde smirks into the camera, enjoying the rabid heat from the UK fans inside the arena.

Mr. Kennedy: You all saw the footage earlier tonight of the glorious beating I put on CM Punk last week. Well, because of what I did last week, poor little CM Punk has a boo boo. The precious Intercontinental Champion isn’t even here tonight. Punk, you’re safe this week because you didn’t want to get on a plane, but when you come back, know what’s coming for you. I’m coming after that title that should be mine….

Kennedy continues to chomp on his gum, a little more serious now, and with his warning issued, we cut to another break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, we head inside a locker room where we see WILLIAM REGAL pacing back and forth, preparing for battle. We then transition to an image of RANDY ORTON, in his own locker room, basically doing the same thing…

A video package then takes over the broadcast…

***

A video package plays, showing footage of the RANDY ORTON vs. WILLIAM REGAL match from April 2008. It shows how tough of a battle it was, with Orton barely defeating Regal in the end…

Match Four
Chris Jericho and Priceless vs. D Generation X and John Cena

There’s no feeling out process with this one, instead it’s fast paced, balls to the wall action right from the beginning. Much like Cena mentioned earlier, there is no tension between Cena and DX, and they manage to clean house, removing their opponents from the ring in the early stages. Annoyed at being discarded so easily, Cody Rhodes hastily re-entered the ring, unintentionally nominating himself as the legal man for his team.

He also unintentionally signed up to be isolated by the veterans on the face team. They even ignore the rules, all stepping in to pinball Cody around the ring with right hands. At the referee’s request, Cena and Shawn Michaels step onto the apron, leaving Triple H to deal with Cody. H continued to dominate until he sent Cody crashing into the corner. Trips followed in after Cody, running, but Cody gets a boot to the jaw of H!

The impact of the blow causes Hunter to drop to one knee, as Cody climbs to the top rope very quickly. Once H gets back to his feet… MISSILE DROPKICK!!!

It’s an impressive move from Cody, but feeling the effects of the match so far, he doesn’t go for the pin. Instead, he makes the tag to Ted DiBiase, who begins to work on H. Now we officially enter the heat period of the match, with the heel trio having their way with ‘The Game’. The Priceless members aren’t afraid to cheat to gain the advantage, whereas Jericho was just more overall brutal with his offense.

Things continue to go this way until the tide turns when DiBiase intends to whip Triple H into the ropes. H reverses, sending Ted in instead, and when Ted comes back… H CATCHES HIM WITH DOUBLE A SPINEBUSTER!!!

Both men immediately start crawling across the ring, to their respective corners. DiBiase gets their first, making the tag to Jericho, whilst H tags in Cena. Cena just starts running through Jericho with Clotheslines, until Priceless try to get involved, but Cena cleans house, taking care of them as well. Taking care of Jericho and DiBiase some more, Cena doesn’t notice Cody sneak from behind… Right hand! No, Cena ducks… AND DRILLS CODY WITH THE PROTO BOMB!!!

We all know the drill from here, Cena bounces off the ropes, dusts off the shoulder… FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!!

Surprisingly, since the little amount of time inside the ring, Cena makes the tag to HBK. Shawn doesn’t step through the ropes though, instead he climbs to the top… FLYING ELBOW DROP LANDS ON CODY!!!

Michaels bounces right back to his feet, wanting the crowd’s opinion as he starts thinking about tuning up the band. Cody is slowly rising… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! BEFORE SHAWN CAN TAKE OFF… HE’S CLOBBERED FROM THE APRON BY DIBIASE!!!

Before DiBiase can do to much more damage, Triple H runs around the ring and pulls DiBiase off the apron. They start trading right hands on the floor… WHEN JERICHO TAKES THEM BOTH OUT WITH A SPRINGBOARD TRIANGLE PLANCHA!!!

As the three men remain down on the outside, inside of the ring, Cody looked to pick Shawn up off the canvas, but Shawn explodes. He shrugs Cody off out of nowhere and pushes him backwards, and then takes a step forward himself… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! CODY DUCKS…

SWEET CHIN MUSIC CONNECTS WITH CENA!!!

NO!!! SHAWN BARELY STOPS IN TIME…

BUT THEN CODY DROPKICKS SHAWN IN THE BACK, SENDING HIM CRASHING INTO CENA!!!

Both Shawn and Cena collapse to the canvas, but Cody is quick to bring the legal man back up… CROSS RHODES TO SHAWN!!!

CODY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! CENA DIVES TO MAKE THE SAVE!!!

Taking a sigh of relief, Cena gets back up after breaking the count… JERICHO TAKES OUT CENA WITH A MISSILE DROPKICK OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

With Cena momentarily out of the picture, Jericho helps Cody to his feet, and they both focus in on Michaels. They land some punches, before sending him into the ropes… JERICHO AND CODY LINK HANDS… DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! SHAWN LEAPS THROUGH THE AIR AND TAKES OUT CODY WITH A FLYING FOREARM!!!

Michaels lands on his back but doesn’t move straight away, despite the fans cheering him on. Shawn doesn’t have the energy to kip up either, so as he remains on the canvas, Jericho runs the ropes… LIONSAULT!!!

NO!!! SHAWN ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY SO JERICHO CRASHES AND BURNS!!!

Gasping for air, Jericho gets up relatively quickly, albeit holding his midsection… CENA RUNS THROUGH JERICHO WITH A FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK!!!

On the outside of the ring, DiBiase is in control of H, NAILING HIM WITH A DDT ON THE OUTISDE OF THE RING!!!

Finishing that battle, DiBiase climbs onto the apron, looking to get back into the ring, but Cena drops him with a right hand, knocking him back off the apron. Cena then stalks Jericho inside the ring, watching him until… FU!!!

BUT CENA DOESN’T FINISH THE MOVE, KEEPING JERICHO ON HIS SHOULDERS AS VLADIMIR KOSLOV STEPS ONTO THE ENTRANCE RAMP!!!

The distraction is enough for Jericho to rake at Cena’s eyes, allowing him to slide off Cena’s back. With Cena temporarily blinded, rubbing at his eyes, Jericho grabs him from behind and throws him out of the ring. The timing is perfect as soon as Cena goes out, Michaels kips up. Jericho runs at his longtime rival, but Michaels sidesteps him and sent Jericho crashing into the corner.

As Jericho stumbles backwards out of the corner… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! JERICHO DUCKED AND SHAWN ACCIDENTALLY HIT TRIPLE H WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

Triple H had just worked his way back up, but it’s safe to say not anymore. Michaels is in complete shock, frozen still, rubbing his hands through his hair. He knows he’s just nailed his best friend, and as the shock wears off, Shawn turns… INTO A CODEBREAKER!!!

JERICHO HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Chris Jericho and Priceless @ 9:34

The heat is loud as Jericho quickly scurries from the ring, joining Cody and DiBiase on the outside. The referee raises their hands as the heels start celebrating their way up the ramp, not wanting any further part of their opponents.

Meanwhile, at the top of the ramp, Koslov leaves. It’s hard to tell if he’s happy because his facial expression is as stoic as ever.

Once the heels have all disappeared through the curtain, Cena gets to his feet inside the ring. Cena looks pissed, knowing being distracted by Koslov cost him the match tonight. As Cena continues to look irritated, we cut away…

Still preparing for the main event, RANDY ORTON sits, watching the TV monitor where the match just finished. Orton nods his head positively, feeling content, before getting back up to prepare further…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Back from the break, the stunning KELLY KELLY is at the interview set.

Kelly Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time, he is the Raw General Manager… MIKE ADAMLE!!!

The cameras pan out to reveal MIKE ADAMLE, who looks in good spirits, sharing a smile with Kelly.

Kelly Kelly: Thanks for your time, sir. The question on everybody’s mind is who will be the host for Raw next week in Madison Square Garden?

Kelly looks on eagerly, as all Adamle can do is chuckle to himself.

Mike Adamle: You know what they say, Kelly, patience is a virtue. I’ve been ordered to announce it after the main event. Sorry, Kelly, but everyone will know then.

Kelly sighs, disappointed in not getting her scoop before she sends us back to ringside…

A few segments later our cameras pick up footage inside of the D GENERATION X locker room. There’s an awkward silence between SHAWN MICHAELS and TRIPLE H, neither man saying much as Hunter holds an ice pack to his jaw. After a few moments, Shawn lets out a huge, nervous sigh.

Shawn Michaels: Look Hunter, I’m sor-…

Trips waves his hands in the air, motioning for his best friend to stop speaking.

Triple H: You don’t need to worry, Shawn. I understand it was a rare mistake from you. I trust you and I forgive you. Plus, you know, I kind of need you so I can in the WWE Championship. If we don’t stick together, it might not go well for us individually. Orton and his people could easily take one of us not only out of the title match, but they could possibly take us out of the WWE.

Shawn doesn’t look that much more relieved after this, with Hunter clearly having ulterior motives, and that’s how the segment comes to a close. Trips icing his jaw, with Shawn watching him closely, unsure what to think…

We now cut to a hallway where we see an open locker room door, and after taking a huge, deep breath, WILLIAM REGAL steps through the door. Before he starts making the walk towards the gorilla position, he gets patted on the back from his tag team partner, FINLAY.

Finlay: You’ve got this, lad. This is what we’ve worked years for. Blood, sweat, tears, bar fights, brawls and everything else in between. All for one of us to have this moment… You’ve got this, Regal.

Regal closes his eyes, silently nodding, appreciating the words of encouragement, before beginning the trip towards the entrance on his own…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
It’s almost main event time, but when we return, we’re in the back once again. An exhausted JOHN CENA is walking through the back, when he stops in his tracks, smirking. The camera pans out to reveal he’s smirking at BATISTA, who adjusts his suit jacket, looking calm, cool and collected.

John Cena: Big Dave, I’m happy I ran into you. Regarding Survivor Series, thanks for being on the team, you’re a hell of an edition, but a word of advice if I may? In the future, you should ask the team captain before you declare yourself on the team.

There’s a hint of arrogance about Big Dave here, he rolls his eyes, clearly not caring.

Batista: Okay, Cena. I thought I was doing you a favour, but whatever, sorry I guess. You made the right decision though. You would have to be pretty brainless to not allow the top guy in the WWE on your team.

Cena’s facial expression changes, playfully rolling his eyes, but ‘Tista simply turns and walks off, done with this conversation…

Now we’re at ringside, it’s main event time and WILLIAM REGAL gets a tremendous reaction as he makes his way to the ring for the second time tonight. Once Regal wipes his feet on the apron and steps into the sacred squared circle, he waits…

***VOICES***

A visceral amount of heat fills the arena as RANDY ORTON steps through the curtain, closely followed by MR. KENNEDY. Shining bright under the lights, Orton walks methodically down the ramp, only stopping when the referee leans through the ropes… AND HE EJECTS MR. KENNEDY FROM RINGSIDE!!!

Orton and Kennedy are furious, but the referee’s decision is final. It looks like tonight’s main event will be a fair fight after all…

Match Five
WWE Championship Match

Randy Orton (c) defends against William Regal

As expected, the crowd is SUPER into this and Regal here. The toll of the bell is barely heard due to the crowd noise, and then the two men finally lock up. They go straight down to the mat, locked in a chain wrestling battle, with Orton picking up the initial advantage. Orton looks to use Headlocks and Hammer Locks to wear Regal down. It’s all basic stuff and Orton gets really cocky, smirking at Regal.

It’s clear Orton isn’t treating Regal as a huge threat, when Regal turns the tables and starts stretching Orton out on the mat. Suddenly, Orton isn’t so confident as all he can do is get to the ropes to force a break. After the clean break, they look to tie up again, when Orton throws a right hand instead. The blow catches Regal off guard and allows him to start teeing off on Regal with punches and kicks.

All these do though is kick Regal into gear, as he starts brutalising Orton with forearms to the bridge of the nose. Orton puts his guard up high, desperate to cover up, but the veteran starts landing knees to the gut, followed by several big European Uppercuts. The fifth hard Uppercut sends Orton down to the canvas, and instead of getting back to his feet, the WWE Champion bails underneath the bottom rope for a breather,

Whilst the fans urge Orton to not be a pussy and get back inside, Regal maintains his composure. Impressively, he doesn’t even join Orton on the outside, instead waiting for him to return to the ring. Once Orton is back in, Regal picks up where he left off, hammering away, until Orton rakes the eyes out of desperation. This allows Orton to immediately start beating down Regal, focusing on his head and neck area.

Orton is vicious but he doesn’t cheat, trusting his own ability. Regal battles back to his feet but Orton tries to use his height advantage for some leverage… STANDING ORTON LOCK APPLIED!!!

NO!!! REGAL MANAGES TO PUSH ORTON’S ARM OFF!!!

The Brit then gets behind Orton… HIGH ANGLE BACK SUPLEX!!!

The first big move of the match lands, and Orton immediately rolls to the outside, rubbing the back of his head. Orton backs away from the ring, towards the foot of the entrance ramp, whilst Regal once again just remains in the ring. Orton looks surprised at how he’s being treated so far, and the look of utter shock continues as we cut to our final break.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, both competitors are duking it out in the centre of the ring. Regal starts to get the advantage again with his sharp forearms, until Orton AGAIN goes for the eyes. Regal rubs at his eyes, temporarily blinded… ALLOWING ORTON TO TAKE HIS HEAD OFF WITH A BIG CLOTHESLINE!!!

This time it feels different. The blow allows the WWE Champion to implement his methodical pace, dissecting Regal’s head and neck. Orton’s not afraid to cheat this time either, which gets the fans even further behind their hometown hero. With the volume from the crowd amping up, Regal begins to fight back, until he bounces off the ropes to build momentum… RUNNING STRAIGHT INTO A DROPKICK FROM ORTON!!!

On instinct, as soon as Regal’s back hits the canvas, he sits up, only for Orton to immediately apply the dreaded ORTON LOCK!!!

Orton really arches his back, trying to apply as much pressure as possible. The hold is applied but Regal, ever the veteran, doesn’t stop moving, constantly trying to find an escape route. When all else fails, Regal just starts throwing punches up at Orton, until Orton cleverly trapped Regal’s arm between his legs, like you would when applying a Crossface.

Finally, with no fight left in him, Regal begins to fade until there’s nothing left. The referee picks Regal’s arm up, checking for signs of life… IT DROPS ONCE…

REGAL’S ARM DROPS A SECOND TIME…

BUT REGAL KEEPS HIS ARM UP ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT!!!

It’s not over yet! Regal sits back up and pulls and twists at Orton’s fingers, doing all he can to break the grip, but he can’t. The champion refuses to let go, AND THE ORTON LOCK REMAINS SYNCHED IN!!!

Fading for a second time, Regal offers no resistance, AS ORTON DRAGS REGAL FLAT TO THE CANVAS… HIS SHOULDERS ON THE MAT…1…2…NO!!! REGAL JUST GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The arena begins shaking now, the fans desperate to get Regal back into the match. Again, he struggles to break the hold, but he shows the pain tolerance he’s developed over a long career. He swivels along the canvas, and just when it seems all hope is lost… REGAL MANAGES TO GET A FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE!!!

The referee demands that Orton break the hold, but the champ keeps it on until the count of four. Orton is annoyed at his submission not finishing the match, slowly dragging Regal up and just picking his spots with hard right hands. With Regal dazed, Orton whips him into the corner, before charging in after him, but Regal sticks his boot right into Orton’s gut.

Orton bends down, gasping for air, allowing Regal to line up a ripping European Uppercut! It knocks Orton down, but he’s straight back up, however now the Brit tees off with repeated left hands… FOLLOWED BY A GUTWRENCH SUPLEX!!!

Regal is back in it now, as he drags Orton right back up… REGAL PLEX!!!

NO!!! ORTON THROWS PANICKED ELBOWS TO BREAK FREE!!!

Regal attempts to shake out the cobwebs, BUT ORTON CATCHES HIM WITH A DDT!!!

There’s almost a look of disbelief on the face of Orton, as he looks down at the fallen Regal. Shaking his head, Orton slowly climbs onto the apron and begins ascending to the top rope. It looks like Orton might be busting the old flying Crossbody out of his repertoire, but Regal meets him with some left hands, crotching Orton on the top rope.

Regal softens Orton up enough to climb up after him, and hook him up… REGAL LANDS AN EPIC BUTTERFLY SUPERPLEX!!!

The pop is massive, the fans can’t believe it, AS REGAL DRAPES AN ARM OVER ORTON’S CHEST…1…2…NO!!! ORTON ROLLS A SHOULDER OFF THE MAT!!!

This time both men remain down, feeling the impact of the high risk move. An exhausted Regal is up first, but with the crowd behind him, he drags Orton up… HITTING ANOTHER BUTTERFLY SUPLEX!!!

There’s no thought of a pin this time, instead the Brit drags the helpless Orton to his feet. Somehow, albeit spaghetti legged, the champ remains standing, as Regal tees off with European Uppercut after European Uppercut! The shots continue until Regal bounces off the ropes, drilling Orton with a running knee to the gut. Not overly familiar with the babyface reaction, Regal poses to the fans, enjoying the moment… ALLOWING ORTON TO PUSH HIM HARD IN THE BACK…

SENDING REGAL COLLIDING AND KNOCKING HEADS WITH THE REFEREE!!!

Both Regal and the referee are down now, the referee obviously in worse shape. Orton is down to, but on his knees and smiling at the carnage he just caused. Without even getting back to his feet, Orton rolls underneath the bottom rope AND GRABS THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP FROM THE TIMEKEEPER’S TABLE!!! Orton slides back into the ring, where Regal is working to his feet… ORTON RUNS THROUGH REGAL WITH A TITLE SHOT TO THE SKULL!!!

That one’s for you, Jam. Orton quickly throws the title to the outside, ditching the evidence, BEFORE PINNING REGAL…

AND OF COURSE, THE REFEREE RECOVERS…1…2…NO!!! REGAL JUST POPS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The audience erupts at the incredible heart shown by Regal, whilst Orton is fuming. He jumps up and gets in the referee’s face, arguing with him but it doesn’t change the result. Orton now drops to the canvas, driving his elbows and forearms into the canvas, coiled like a ‘Viper’, so when Regal gets up… RKO!!!

NO!!! REGAL SHOVES ORTON AWAY!!!

Orton hurriedly turns back towards Regal, but Regal meets him with a knee to the midsection… FOLLOWED BY A TIGER BOMB!!!

REGAL KEEPS ORTON STACKED FOR THE COVER…1…2…NO!!! ORTON KICKS OUT!!!

A real sense of urgency about him now, Regal is up and pulls Orton to his feet as well… REGAL PLEX!!!

NO!!! ORTON GRABS THE TOP ROPE TO BLOCK THE HOLD!!!

Regal explodes with hammer fists, hacking at Orton’s arm until he’s forced to relinquish the top rope… NOW REGAL LANDS THE REGAL PLEX!!!

All it takes is one moment for Regal to remain on his back, trying to suck in some oxygen. In that moment, Orton refuses to stay on his back, rolling underneath the bottom rope and to the outside, despite Regal’s best efforts to stop him. Frustrated but realising he needs to stay on the champ, Regal goes out after Orton, urgently rolling him back inside of the ring.

Before Regal can slide inside the ring after Orton… HE’S GRABBED FROM BEHIND BY CODY RHODES!!!

Regal drops Cody with a European Uppercut! He then gets spun around by TED DIBIASE, but Ted gets nailed with a European Uppercut as well! After taking care of Priceless, Regal climbs onto the apron, only for Orton to pounce and hang Regal throat first over the top rope. Regal falls to his knees, remaining on the apron, and Orton grabs a hold of his head, pulling him through the middle rope… ELEVATED DDT!!!

Orton drags the fallen carcass of Regal back to the centre of the ring… AND ORTON HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! REGAL SOMEHOW GETS HIS SHOULDER UP AGAIN!!!

The frustration is building within Orton this time, as he doesn’t focus on the referee. He wastes no time pulling Regal back up… RKO!!!

NO!!! REGAL SHOVES ORTON AWAY AGAIN…

AND BEFORE ORTON CAN TURN BACK TO FACE REGAL… REGAL THROWS HIM WITH A HALF NELSON SUPLEX!!!

Instead of covering the WWE Champion, Regal grabs Orton’s foot and moves him away from the ropes and into the centre of the ring. REGAL APPLIES THE REGAL STRETCH!!!

Orton’s trapped in the centre of the ring, screaming in pain, he has nowhere to go. Regal pulls back and forth, almost in a rocking motion, applying as much pressure as humanly possible. The fans are going bonkers, ready for this major upset… WHEN CODY RHODES LEAPS ONTO THE APRON!!!

Cody starts yelling out things, but Regal ignores him, keeping the hold locked in. The referee eventually notices Rhodes though, and heads over to admonish him. With the referee distracted, Regal lets go of the hold and charges at Cody, shoulder barging him and knocking him off the apron. Regal turns to another side of the ring and sees Ted halfway into the ring… REGAL TAKES DIBIASE’S HEAD OFF WITH THE KNEE TREMBLER!!!

Ted collapses onto the apron, potentially unconscious. Regal has taken out Priceless and just needs to finish the job, turning back to face Orton…

RIGHT INTO AN RKO!!!

ORTON HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Randy Orton @ 21:00

The air is removed from the arena quickly, suddenly you can hear a pin drop, as Orton slowly struggles to his feet. The heat kicks in as Orton gets up and is given the WWE Championship he just controversially retained. Struggling to maintain his feet, Orton is forced to use Cody Rhodes as a crutch, a telltale sign of the war he just went through.

DiBiase joins the duo in the ring for the celebration, and then MR. KENNEDY and CHRIS JERICHO make their way down, all smiles. As the five men all look to stand tall, perhaps a preview of Survivor Series… WHEN KENNEDY AND JERICHO ARE BOWLED OVER FROM BEHIND!!!

BY BATISTA!!!

The fans cheer loudly as ‘The Animal’ has come through the crowd to get him some. All the heels are in a panic, with Orton frozen in shock, as ‘Tista runs off the ropes… BATISTA RUNS THROUGH ORTON WITH A SPEAR!!!

Ignoring the others, Batista mounts Orton and begins hammering away with right hands, extracting revenge for Summerslam. The rest of Legacy and Jericho recover though, and they’re able to rip Batista off of the WWE Champion, and then begin mauling him.

The numbers advantage is to much for even Batista to handle… WHEN D GENERATION X AND JOHN CENA SPRINT DOWN THE RAMP AND SLIDE INTO THE RING!!!

It’s pandemonium inside the arena now, as SHAWN MICHAELS IMMEDIATELY MEETS KENNEDY WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

After backing him against the ropes with repeated right hands, TRIPLE H CLOTHESLINES JERICHO OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Now Priceless and DX are left to engage in a two on two brawl on one side of the ring. Sensing his chance, Orton looks to escape underneath the bottom rope, but Cena managed to grab him. Cena drags Orton back to the centre of the ring, and now it’s his turn to mount Orton and land right hands.

The only reason Cena stops is because Jericho drags him off, allowing Orton to bail out of the ring with his title. Seeing their fearless leader do so, the rest of Legacy extract themselves from the brawl and leave the ring, with Jericho also doing the same.

Boos ring out loudly as Orton and co start backing up the ramp, Orton holding up the title to rub it in some more. DX, Cena and a recovered Batista all stare at the WWE Title, hunger in their eyes.

***TO BE LOVED***

Everybody’s heads jerk towards the curtain where MIKE ADAMLE has appeared. With a smirk on his face, Adamle wastes no time in speaking.

Mike Adamle: It’s no surprise by now since it has already been announced, but I’m on vacation next week and a guest host will take over Raw.

This gets a good pop; the fans are excited to know who it is.

Mike Adamle: I’ve finally been given the all clear by the Board of Directors to make this announcement. The host in mind should be very interesting for several people in the ring. Ladies and gentlemen, NEXT WEEK’S GUEST HOST WILL BE THE ROCK!!!

HOLY SHIT!!! He’s not here tonight but the pop is huge anyway. Orton and his cronies on the outside are less than impressed, and even the babyfaces in the ring seem unsettled. Adamle enjoys the reaction, the fans starting up a “ROCKY” chant as the show comes to a close…

The DX banter is always fun, and it was a great way to start off the show. The way you portray Randy Orton is so great here, too.

Giving Regal his flowers in the UK is a great touch, but what I really love about this is that you somehow managed to find a way to sneak in a Low Ki match in a WWE 2009 thread- that's where all the props should be given lol

Batista back just adds another huge star into the title picture. So much going on at once, it's chaotic but all makes perfect sense, reminds me a lot of peak Attitude era booking. Great job finding enough time to give everyone a clear direction while still having everything feel so chaotic and can't miss.

And then you throw The Rock into the fold! Awesome stuff. I had about 20 minutes to kill this afternoon, and I'm damn glad I spent it reading this. Great work as always. Survivor Series is shaping up to be huge.

Thanks for the comments as always, BT. Got on a roll with this one and didn't feel like waiting to post. I really leaned into the fantasy aspect of fantasy booking on this show so hope everybody can forgive me as a one off. Please no predictions for Survivor Series until I post a predictions contest with bonus questions, which will most likely be posted not long after this.

WWE Monday Night Raw
November 16th, 2009
New York City, New York
Madison Square Garden

Marking the occasion of being back at Madison Square Garden, along with the opening video and pyro, there’s a special look at some of the epic moments in WWE history that took place at MSG. As the cameras pan around the arena, the fans are full of excitement. The smoke slowly rises to the ceiling, a “ROCKY” chant already booming through the arena, because the fans understand, there is only one way this show can truly begin tonight…

***IF YA SMELL***

The arena ERUPTS with a once in a lifetime ovation. The noise is deafening, the arena is shaking, anybody walking outside the arena might think there’s an earthquake occurring, but there’s not. Instead, for the first time in five years, THE ROCK has stepped into a WWE arena. ‘The People’s Champion’ stops at the top of the ramp, observing the crowd and the raucous ovation, before walking down the ramp like only he can. Once inside the ring, The Rock gets a mic, but he can’t speak for quite a while, those booming “ROCKY” chants not relenting. He then steps into a pose, tilting the mic up high, preparing to speak, causing the fans to hush just enough for him to speak.

The Rock: Finally… THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO NEW YORK CITY!!!

Epic pop but The Rock isn’t finished, remaining in the same stance.

The Rock: Finally… THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO THE SACRED PLACE WHERE HE MADE HIS WWE DEBUT THIRTEEN YEARS AGO… FINALLY… THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO MADISON SQUARE GARDEN!!!

Another big pop as Rocky puts a hand on his chest, showing his appreciation to the reaction.

The Rock: And last but certainly not least… Finally… THE ROCK HAS COME BACK… home!

Yep, you guessed it, more loud cheers, and another “ROCKY” chant as now tonight’s GM begins walking around the ring as he speaks.

The Rock: Now we all know why The Rock’s here tonight. The Raw General Manager… Mike Adamle, that jabroni decided he wanted a week off, but he needed to find a suitable replacement. He along with the Board of Directors searched high and wide trying to find somebody to take that spot, when they realized there’s only one man who could be the guest host for Raw tonight, and that man was the jabroni beatin… pie eatin…trail blazin… eye brow raisin… no GM on Raw, who’s gonna’ save it… THE MOST ELECTRIFYING MAN IN SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT… THE ROCK!!!

Pop. A big one. Rock nods his head, continuing to pace, taking a moment to wipe some sweat from his forehead.

The Rock: The Rock wanted to have a little fun with you all to start the show, I appreciate and love the reaction from you all, but tonight’s not about The Rock. Tonight’s about the men and women in the back ready to bust their asses for each and every one of you fans. Tonight’s matches are set to steal the show; we’ve got William Regal and Finlay defending their World Tag Team Championships against ECW wrestlers Kofi Kingston and Low Ki. That’s not all, no, no, no, a man The Rock never got in the ring with, Rey Mysterio will face the undefeated Vladimir Koslov.

The fans applaud both the match announcements so far.

The Rock: Or how abo-…

***VOICES***

The Rock looks shocked at the interruption, and the fans are salty too, as the entire conglomerate of LEGACY heads towards the ring. Of course, the WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON leads the way, but he’s closely followed by the rest of the group, CODY RHODES, MR. KENNEDY and TED DIBIASE. Alongside them is their non Legacy member associate, CHRIS JERICHO. Tonight’s guest host shows no fear as the heels enter the ring. Surprisingly, Orton stands back, looking unimpressed with The Rock, and it’s Jericho who steps towards Rock, mic in hands.

Chris Jericho: Look at the Hollywood superstar, The Rock, gracing us with his presence in a WWE ring. Ever since you ran your mouth at last year’s Hall Of Fame ceremony, I’ve waited for this day.

Before Jericho can say anything else, Rock puts a hand up In his face to interrupt. Jericho gets irritated and swats Rock’s hand away, but it’s too late.

The Rock: Oh, you mean when The Rock talked about your haircut… Yeah, The Rock remembers that, well let The Rock tell you this. It’s still a stupid haircut that makes you look like a backstreet boy!

Jericho is disrespected again by The Rock and is irritated. He stomps his feet when Orton steps forward, going nose to nose with The Rock. The tension builds immediately, the fans buzzing in anticipation as Orton speaks.

Randy Orton: You WILL respect us…

Rock tilts his head to the side, sizing Orton up, almost looking confused.

The Rock: Of course, man, The Rock respects you and appreciates your work, but The Rock does have a question. You see, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The Rock’s back home in the WWE and he still sees the people’s ramp, he still sees the people’s ring, and he damn sure still sees the people, but there’s one thing The Rock’s got to know… When in the blue hell did Lex Luthor win the WWE Title?

Orton’s jaw clenches ever so slightly as the fans mark out. It’s more the rest of Legacy who start yelling at the Rock, drawing Rock’s attention.

The Rock: Whoa, whoa, whoa. You three jabronis are going to yell at The Rock without even having the common decency to introduce yourselves

Off mic, all three begin telling The Rock who they are.

The Rock: IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOUR NAMES ARE!!!

More cheers from the fans as Rocky has officially pissed off everybody else in the ring. Suddenly, Legacy and Jericho begin surrounding The Rock, closing in when…

***BREAK IT DOWN***

Legacy immediately takes a step back from The Rock, not wanting to cause a scene with the numbers being less in their favor. D GENERATION, SHAWN MICHAELS and TRIPLE H get a good reception from the crowd, but don’t overly acknowledge the fans. Due to the urgent nature of what’s happening in the ring, they just hurry down and slide in.

Shawn Michaels: We just wanted to come out here and say it’s great to have The Rock back, even if it Is for one night only. And we’re not about to let you five nimrods ruin it.

A nice pop for Michaels, who passes his mic over to ‘The Game’.

Triple H: Hell, I don’t even like The Rock, but I’d still take out you five and tell you all to suck it before fighting with him for the billionth time.

A mention of the past is interesting, as suddenly the mood changes. The Rock and Triple H end up going face to face and Rocky takes off his shades. In both men’s eyes, shadows of hatred flash, as Orton watches on.

Randy Orton: Isn’t this interesting. Think about all the bad things you two have done to each other, including tearing each other to shreds over the WWE Intercontinental Championship in this very building eleven years ago. For old times sake, maybe that rivalry should be renewed tonight.

It’s not often Orton gets a pop, but he does get one here. Rocky and Hunter continue to stare each other down, but before any violence can break out…

***THE TIME IS NOW***

It’s about to get even more crowded in the ring, as JOHN CENA comes down to a big pop. Cena runs down the ramp like only he can, slapping some hands with the fans, before sliding in and getting right down to business. The first thing he does is step in between Triple H and The Rock, immediately deescalating that situation. He then offers his hand to The Rock.

John Cena: In case you’ve forgotten, I’m John Cena. It’s our privilege to have you here tonight.

The Rock does the right thing and shakes Cena’s hand. Orton chuckles at this.

Randy Orton: Rock, it’s funny to me, it shows just how far you’ve fallen. You’re shaking hands with Cena; this is the guy the WWE tried to replace you with.

Whoa. Big mixed reaction for that one. Cena shakes his head, more at the audacity of Orton than denial, whilst The Rock gets right up in Orton’s face now.

The Rock: There are two things you need to do for The Rock right now, and that is KNOW YOUR ROLE… AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!!

Another nice pop, but Orton immediately yells over it.

Randy Orton: NO, no. There’s one thing you need to do for the WWE Champion right now. You need to man up, because I’m challenging you to a match tonight!

MASSIVE pop for the suggestion from the champ. The Rock smirks to himself, before shaking his head.

The Rock: Let me get this straight, you actually THINK you want to go one on one with ‘The Great One’? Maybe one day kid, but I’m not here for that tonight. I’m out here to have some fun, entertain the millions… AND MILLIONS of The Rock’s fans, but my in ring days are behind me. The Rock will put you in a match ton-…

BOP!!! ORTON SMASHES HIS MICROPHONE INTO THE ROCK’S FACE!!!

Unsuspecting the shot, Rock falls to the canvas where Orton stands over him. DX and Cena look to intervene, whilst Legacy and Jericho look to protect Orton…

AND WE’VE GOT AN ALL IN BRAWL ON OUR HANDS!!!

Everybody swings at the opposition, and as the brawl happens, Orton gets distracted fighting Cena and DX, allowing The Rock to recover. Rock rejoins the brawl and whilst the faces hold their own, their still down one man…

***THIS FIRE BURNS***

Another HUMUNGOUS pop emanates from the crowd, as the WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION CM PUNK makes his return. Punk runs down the ramp, without his title, sliding straight into the ring…

PUNK IMMEDIATELY SPEAR TACKLES MR. KENNEDY DOWN TO THE CANVAS!!!

The odds are even now and the dynamic immediately changes, with the faces taking complete control. With basic brawling punches and clotheslines, including Rock’s epic spit punch to Orton, the faces manage to drive the heels from the ring.

The fans are marking out like crazy. Heels are furious on the outside as the faces stand tall, begging for Orton and co to return. They don’t though so the stand in GM for the night picks up the mic that was previously driven into his skull.

The Rock: The Rock’s had a change of heart. The people sound excited at the action, and if that’s what the people want, then damn it, ‘The People’s Champion’ we’ll deliver. The Rock will give it to you tonight. Tonight’s main event will be Chris Jericho and Legacy versus CM Punk, D Generation X, John Cena and The Rock in a ten man tag team match!!! And we will lay the smackdown on all your candy asses!!! IF YA SMEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLL… WHAT THE ROCK… IS COOKING!!!

HOLY SHIT! What a match, what an announcement, what a hot start to the show. The fans continue cheering loudly, as Rock drops his mic. The opposing sides trade trash talk ahead of the main event later tonight, before the show cuts to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

A few matches into the show, we cut inside the locker room of D GENERATION X where SHAWN MICHAELS and TRIPLE H are both now in their gear ahead of the main event. Whilst Hunter tapes his fists, he doesn’t seem to notice that Michaels is sitting on a chair, an uneasy look on his face. Shawn sucks in a deep breath and then speaks.

Shawn Michaels: I know I tried to talk about this last week, but it’s still not sitting right with me, Hunter. I’m sorry for the Sweet Chin Music last week.

Trips only then looks up, and notices Shawn is having a hard time. He waves it off.

Triple H: Don’t sweat it, Shawn, it’s all good. It was just a mistake. It hurt, but that’s okay, besides, let’s just write it off as you got the first shot in. We’re probably going to hit each other at some point in the title match in six days anyway. I promise, it’s all good.

Finally, Shawn looks a little more relaxed about the situation, so the two men continue to get ready…

Later on in the night, we head to the LEGACY locker room, where RANDY ORTON stands in front of CHRIS JERICHO, CODY RHODES, MR. KENNEDY and TED DIBIASE. They all listen to the WWE Champion intently.

Randy Orton: If we play our cards right tonight, Survivor Series can be a really easy night for us. We need this. For guys like you, Cody, Ted, Ken, this is everything. This is a chance to make your names part of history.

Orton pauses to let those words sink in, as the trio mentioned nod, images of glory flashing across their eyes.

Randy Orton: As for you Jericho, you’re already in the history books but this is different. This is something you have wanted ever since 2002. You were the first ever WWE Undisputed Champion of the world, you’ve beaten The Rock many a time, but it doesn’t matter. You’re still seen by The Rock as a joke and a guy who can’t win the big one.

Jericho snarls, Orton deliberately bringing up some scars that irk Jericho.

Chris Jericho: I’ll prove to The Rock, I’ll prove to the people, and I’ll prove to anybody in this room who doubts me. I CAN win the big one.

Jericho remains ultra serious, as he pokes the WWE Title on Orton’s shoulder to further emphasize his point. The champ just stares at Jericho, concerned, briefly, before looking to continue with the rest of the group.

Cody Rhodes: So, uh, Randy, what’s the goal out there?

Now Randy smirks whilst the rest of his team looks confused.

Randy Orton: The goal is to win. Anything on top of that, you don’t need to worry about it.

It’s clear everybody in the room is intrigued by what Orton means by that, but that’s all we get as the segment comes to a close…

After squashing Rey Mysterio in 5 minutes, VLADIMIR KOSLOV celebrated in his usual emotionless fashion, simply enjoying hurting people. ‘The Moscow Mauler’ looked unstoppable again tonight, standing tall, before our cameras cut to show an interested JOHN CENA, watching on a TV monitor in the back…

We then cut to the interview set, where standing on his own, looking frustrated is JOHN MORRISON.

John Morrison: I’m not even going to try and hide the way I feel right now. I’m disappointed that I’m not in the big main event tonight. I can’t help but be annoyed that I’m on the sidelines well clearly that grungy asshole took advantage of this kind of opportunity to team with the biggest star in WWE in the last twenty years.

There’s a bitterness written into JoMo’s expression, but then he takes a deep breath. Suddenly, the bitterness is replaced by determination.

John Morrison: So, tonight’s a bit of a reset for me. It’s okay though because I’ve still got my opportunity at Survivor Series this Sunday. I will be the sole survivor, and I’ll show everyone in the WWE not to forget about me.

With that, Morrison turns to walk out of shot, clearly quite a bit happening in his brain at the moment…

We cut to later on in the night, it’s almost main event time now, but before we get there, a video package plays…

WWE SURVIVOR SERIES

NOVEMBER 22ND, 2009

Match Five
CM Punk, D Generation X, John Cena and The Rock vs. Chris Jericho, Mr. Kennedy, Priceless and Randy Orton

Much like earlier in the night, the crowd is all over this one, insanely hot as the bell rings. The Rock opts to surprisingly start for his team, whilst the heels send in Cody Rhodes. Losing all sense of composure, Cody looks to make an impact, charging at The Rock, but Rocky meets him with those patented right hands. Rock lands shot after shot, backing Cody up, and then the spit punch sends Cody flying over the top rope and to the outside!!!

Moving back to the center of the ring, Rock then locked eyes with Orton. ‘The People’s Champion’ walks right up to Orton, sticks his hand in his face, and hits him with the ‘Just Bring It’ motion. Much to the dismay of the fans though, Orton refuses to get in with The Rock. Continuing on with his picking and choosing attitude, Orton also refuses to get in the ring throughout the match when a fired up Cena is the legal man.

When Punk gets tagged in, and then dropped by Cody, Orton does indeed enter the match legally. Punk immediately clicked into gear though and before Orton could lay a hand on him, Punk hit several big kicks to the body and head of Orton. With the WWE Champion staggered, Punk whipped him into the corner, before charging in after him… CORNER HIGH KNEE!!!

NO!!! ORTON GETS BOTH ARMS UP IN A CLOSED GUARD TO BLOCK IT!!!

AND THEN JERICHO COMES FROM NOWHERE TO HANG PUNK UP THROAT FIRST ON THE TOP ROPE!!!

The fans aren’t happy but it’s smart strategy from Jericho, as now the heel team begin to isolate Punk, and slowly dissect him. They work over the head and neck of Punk, which commentary mention is an Orton theme, as the Punt, RKO and Orton Lock all focus on that area.

As the beatdown continues, when Jericho is in, he’s quick to mock The Rock, constantly yelling, “JUST BRING IT YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH”!!! Intelligent tag strategy is shown from Orton as well, constantly getting in and literally SPITTING AT THE DX MEMBERS!!!

This brings Shawn and Triple H to attempt to enter the ring illegally, causing the referee to intervene. Then with the referee distracted, different members of Legacy enter the ring to help with double or triple team on Punk. Commentary mentions that this might not be Orton’s best way to endear himself with his opponents this Sunday at Survivor Series.

Eventually, we end up with Orton and Punk inside the ring once again. Orton lands a few right hands to Punk, before whipping him into the corner. Randy charges in after Punk, but Punk turns his elbow, ramming a Back Elbow into Orton’s jaw. The WWE Champion staggers towards the center of the ring, clutching his jaw… SPRINGBOARD CROSSBODY FROM PUNK!!!

The fans pop as Punk finally makes his move, before monkey rolling across the ring and tagging in Triple H! Hunter goes to town on Orton with punches and Clotheslines, getting some revenge for the earlier spits. Legacy and Jericho try and get involved but the fresh Triple H keeps them at bay with right hands and Clotheslines as well.

Once Triple H has dropped everybody, he notices Orton leaning against the top rope… H runs at him… H CLOTHESLINES ORTON OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

H stands in the middle of the ring, raising his arms in the air, getting a big pop, when suddenly he’s attacked from behind by Priceless. They drop him and start stomping on him, until Cena and The Rock intervene. Cena unloads with punches on DiBiase, whilst Rocky beats on Cody, before throwing Cody over the top rope and to the outside…

CENA THEN THROWS DIABIASE OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE…

CAUSING DIBIASE TO LAND ON CODY!!!

Kennedy drops down to the floor as well, trying to help Orton recover with Priceless down. With Kennedy and Orton grouped together, Michaels makes his way around the ring apron, to his on the side of the ring where Orton and Kennedy stand… ASAI MOONSAULT FROM MICHAELS TAKES OUT ORTON AND KENNEDY!!!

The fans pop loudly for the incredible move, and with the faces in complete control, we cut to a break.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

When we return from the break, the two legal men inside the ring are Triple H and Ted DiBiase. DiBiase manages to reverse an Irish Whip, sending H off the ropes, but DiBiase ducks her head to soon… H CATCHES HIM WITH A KNEE FACEBUSTER!!!

Ted immediately drops to the mat, and Triple H quickly crawls across the ring, tagging in Michaels. Shawn gets in and starts beating up DiBiase, until once again, the rest of the heel team tries to get involved illegally. Being the fresher man, Michaels is on fire early, until Jericho and Kennedy corner him against the ropes. Jericho and Kennedy charge at Michaels… MICHAELS PULLS DOWN THE TOP ROPE... LOW BRIDGING BOTH MEN OVER THE TOP AND OT THE OUTSIDE!!!

Noticing that DiBiase is getting back up, Michaels run at him… FLYING FOREARM CONNECTS!!!

As Michaels works to his feet, Orton picks his spot, charging in to attack Michaels from behind… THE ROCK INTERCEPTS ORTON WITH A SAMOAN DROP!!!

Shawn gives Rocky a grateful nod, before dragging DiBiase up and dropping him back down with a Scoop Slam. HBK heads to the apron and ascends to the top rope… FLYING ELBOW CONNECTS!!!

The fans are cheering Michaels on as there’s no thought of a tag. Instead, Michaels begins tuning up the band, waiting for DiBiase to get up… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! CODY RUNS AT SHAWN… BUT SHAWN SIDESTEPS HIM AND THROWS HIM THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Full of adrenaline, Cody scrambles back up quickly… MICHAELS TAKES HIM OUT WITH A PLANCHA!!!

After grabbing at his body momentarily after the bump, Michaels works back to his feet… BUT KENNEDY RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A KNEE LIFT!!!

It’s a big blow and Michaels goes down. The ref does his best to hold the face team at bay, as Kennedy and Cody work together to pick up the dead weight of Michaels, rolling him back inside of the ring. Despite being the most experienced man in the match, Michaels now falls victim to a heat period, being isolated by his opposition.

Once again, the heels focus on the head and neck of one of their opponents, as the commentary put over the whiplash the Knee Lift gave to Michaels. They keep beating on Michaels for a while, until we end up with two thirds of our Survivor Series WWE Championship match in the ring. With Michaels being held in the heel teams’ corner by Jericho… ORTON RUNS IN FOR A CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! MICHAELS BREAKS FREE AND MOVES… SO ORTON CLOTHESLINES JERICHO INSTEAD!!!

Jericho falls down, and Orton freezes, in complete shock. On the other hand, Michaels scurries across the ring and makes the tag to Cena! Cena gets in but before he can go at Orton, the rest of Legacy come in. Cena cleans house, getting rid of them all, but during this time, Orton was able to bail to the outside. Standing tall, Cena yells at Orton, “IF YOU WANT SOME, COME GET SOME”!!!

Orton shakes his head, refusing, and the fans don’t respect the cowardly act. Orton doesn’t notice CM Punk coming from the side though, grabbing a hold of Orton and sliding him into the ring. Cena looks almost relieved that he’s finally going to get his hands on Orton, as Orton begs for mercy on his hands and knees. Cena shakes his head, ready to attack… WHEN JERICHO NAILS CENA IN THE BACK WITH A MISSILE DROPKICK!!!

As Cena falls forward onto his knees, Orton uses the opportunity to tag himself out of the match. From here, Cena is in trouble and starts getting isolated as Raw cuts to it’s final commercial break of the night…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

The final break is over, and Cena is still getting isolated, and with Cena beaten down and in a world of trouble, Orton FINALLY gets tagged in. Orton applies the ORTONLOCK, really using leverage like only he can. Cena’s shoulders and neck are so thick though, that he’s able to begin battling out, leading to Orton throwing Cena down to the canvas and quickly tagging back out.

Kennedy comes in off the tag and peppers Cena with right hands. Cena stops backing down though and starts teeing off with some rights of his own, turning the tide. Kennedy starts staggering backwards, so Cena bounces off the ropes to build some momentum… KENNEDY CATCHES CENA WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!!

KENNEDY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! CENA SHOOTS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Shaking his head at the resilience of Cena, Kennedy then heads over to his team’s corner and tags in Cody. Cody gets in and showing the tutelage from the WWE Champion… CODY LOCKS IN HIS OWN VERSION OF THE ORTONLOCK!!!

Cody keeps the pressure on, arching his body, but he can’t quite keep Cena down the way Orton probably could. Cena fights out of it and shrugs Cody off of him once he reaches his feet. Cena blocks a right from Cody and tees off with a few of his own. With Cody staggered, Cena bounces off the ropes… FLYING SHOULDERBLOCK!!!

NO!!! CODY DUCKS AND CENA CRASHES AND BURNS!!!

As Cena struggles back to his feet, Cody tags in DiBiase and they meet in the center of the ring. Ted and Cena get into a slugfest, trading right hands, until Cena starts to get the advantage. He hits right hand after right hand, before running off the ropes… THIS TIME THE FLYING SHOULDERBLOCK FROM CENA CONNECTS!!!

After landing a big move, Cena remains down, as does Ted. Cena starts crawling towards his team’s corner, when Jericho comes in illegally and grabs Cena’s leg. Jericho starts yanking Cena away from the babyface corner… WHEN PUNK TAKES OUT JERICHO WITH A SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

The move gets an epic pop as Cena is free to try and make the tag once again. On the opposite side of the ring, DiBiase rolls over and tags Orton, and then Cena manages to tag The Rock! The crowd goes nuts as The Rock has right hands for everybody. He drops Orton, and takes down the rest of Legacy and Jericho, all with rights, until he sees Orton charging at him out of the corner of eyes… ROCK CATCHES ORTON WITH A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!!

As Rock scrambles to his feet, Kennedy runs at him, Rocky meets Kennedy with a kick to the stomach… FOLLOWED BY A DDT!!!

Now Rocky is approached by Cody but Rock lands a few rights, before sending Cody crashing into the corner. The Rock vacates the area as CM Punk runs towards Cody in the corner… CORNER HIGH KNEE LANDS…

PUNK BULLDOGS CODY OUT OF THE CORNER…

BUT TAKES OUT JERICHO WITH A CLOTHESLINE AT THE SAME TIME!!!

The fans cheer the creativity from Punk, but Punk gets grabbed from behind by DiBiase… MILLION DOLLAR SWEEPSTAKES!!!

‘The Million Dollar Man’ gets back up to his feet… H RUNS THROUGH DIBAISE WITH THE HARLEY RACE HIGH KNEE!!!

As Trips gets back to his feet, Orton grabs him from behind… INVERTED HEADLOCK BACKBREAKER!!!

All hell has broken loose here but Orton gets up, feeling like he’s, the last man standing. Instead, The Rock greets Orton with rights, until Orton drops to the canvas and rolls underneath the bottom rope. Rock looks frustrated at the cowardly tactics from the champ but can’t worry about it for long as he’s grabbed from behind by Cody… DEAD END RHODES!!!

It lands! Cody steps away from The Rock, as Orton slides back in... RANDY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! MICHAELS DIVES ACROSS THE RING TO BREAK UP THE COUNT!!!

Michaels struggles back to his feet, but a furious Cody is up quickly. Red faced and angry, Cody charges at Michaels… RIGHT INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

Shawn looks to turn back towards the center… JERICHO NAILS MICHAELS WITH THE CODEBREAKER!!!

Jericho then notices Rocky getting back to his feet and can’t help himself. Jericho lands a right hand, followed by another, and another, Jericho spits on his hand to mock Rock’s punch combo… No! Rock ducks the last shot, gets a Double Legged Takedown on Jericho… AND ROCK LOCKS IN THE SHARPSHOOTER!!!

Rock sits down on it, applying as much pressure as possible, and Jericho screams in agony. A panicked Kennedy gets in and runs at The Rock to break it up… TRIPLE H INTERVENES AND DRILLS KENNEDY WITH A DOUBLE A SPINEBUSTER!!!

Seeing this from the outside, DiBiase grabs a hold of H’s legs and drags him outside of the ring. Before H can react, DIBIASE SENDS TRIPS CRASHING INTO THE STEEL STEPS!!!

With Triple H down and out on the outside, inside of the ring, Orton slides in and stalks The Rock. Rocky struggles to his feet, the years out of the business catching up to him… AND HE TURNS RIGHT INTO THE RKO!!!

ORTON WITH THE COVER…1…2…NO!!!

CENA PULLS ORTON OFF… AND STRAIGHT INTO THE STFU!!!

The fans mark out for Cena finally getting his hands on Orton. Cena pulls back with all his strength, wanting to break Orton… WHEN JERICHO BREAKS UP THE SUBMISSION WITH A LIONSAULT ACROSS CENA’S BACK!!!

On the outside of the ring, DiBiase is looking to apply more damage to H, but Trips reverses… SENDING DIBIASE FACE FIRST INTO THE RING POST!!!

Seeing something that interests him inside the ring, ‘The Game’ slides in, noticing Jericho standing on his lonesome. H spins Jericho around and kicks him in the gut… PEDIGREE!!!

NO!!! JERICHO POWERS OUT WITH A BACK BODY DROP!!!

Jericho slowly turns to face Michaels, who has just gotten up himself… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! JERICHO DUCKS…

AND THIS WEEK MICHAELS PUTS ON THE BRAKES… STOPPING BEFORE KICKING TRIPLE H IN THE CHIN!!!

BUT THEN ORTON SHOVES TRIPLE H FROM BEHIND… CAUSING HIM TO COLLIDE WITH SHAWN…

AND SHAWN STAGGERS INTO JERICHO, WHO TAKES HIM DOWN AND LOCKS IN THE WALLS OF JERICHO!!!

As Jericho sits on the hold, Orton picks up Triple H with disdain and throws him out of the ring. With Orton distracted with discarding H, it opens up a pathway for PUNK TO BREAK UP THE WALLS WITH A STEP UP ENZUIGURI ON JERICHO!!!

A furious Orton ran at Punk out of anger, but Punk used his momentum to place him on his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

Not for the first time in this BTB, Punk gets the better of Orton. Somehow, the WWE Champion remains on his feet, but he collapses into the corner, where DiBiase tags himself in. DiBiase almost is a carbon copy of Orton, running at Punk, and now Punk gets DiBiase on his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! DIBIASE DIGS HIS FINGERS INTO PUNK’S EYES!!!

With Punk temporarily blinded, DiBiase is able to slide off of his back, and he shoves Punk forward… INTO A MIC CHECK FROM KENNEDY!!!

Smirking at getting one up on his long time rival, Kennedy gets to his feet… ONLY TO GET NAILED WITH A LEAPING LARIAT FROM THE ROCK!!!

Now DiBiase runs at The Rock… ROCK CATCHES HIM WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!!

Cena manages to battle back to his feet now, and he sees Kennedy down in the middle of the ring. Cena bounces off the ropes, dusts off his shoulder… FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!!

With a smirk, The Rock shakes his head, looks at Cena and tells him to “WATCH THIS”! The crowd goes BANANAS as Rocky throws an elbow pad into the crowd, bounces off both sets off ropes… BEFORE DROPPING THE PEOPLE’S ELBOW ON DIBIASE!!!

Rock and Cena share a smile and a fist bump when Cody runs at them… CENA CATCHES CODY WITH THE FU!!!

The Rock now waits for DiBiase to get back up, primed, in perfect position… ROCK BOTTOM!!!

THE ROCK GETS THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winners: CM Punk, D Generation X, John Cena and The Rock @ 29:05

A loud pop greets the result as the ultimate babyface team has won here tonight. Rock, Cena, Punk and Michaels celebrate amongst each other, until a furious Triple H reentered the ring. Unhappy with his collision with his DX buddy, a furious H confronts Shawn… AND TRIPLE H SHOVES MICHAELS HARD IN THE CHEST!!!

Michaels tried to put his hands up innocently, explaining it was an accident. Hunter remained in his face, furious, until Shawn had enough… AND SHAWN PUSHES TRIPLE H BACK!!!

The push sends H stumbling backwards, and he bumps into The Rock’s back inadvertently. The Rock turns to see H staring at him and thinking he got hit from behind… ROCK DRILLS TRIPLE H WITH A ROCK BOTTOM!!!

It’s all falling apart for the super team, as Rock stands over his longtime rival. Shawn isn’t happy with Rock now, but before anything else can go down, ORTON, JERICHO AND KENNEDY ATTACK ROCK AND SHAWN FROM BEHIND!!!

The boos immediately pick up as Cena and Punk then get attacked as well, but provide a bit of a better fight due to being aware… UNTIL PUNK GETS DROPPED OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A HEADBUTT TO THE CHEST…

FROM VLADIMIR KOSLOV!!!

As usual, Legacy and Orton have a back up plan. With Punk down, the brawl still continues, The Rock recovering enough to dominate Kennedy with punches, eventually hitting his spit punch combo, which sends Kennedy to the outside.

Jericho bails due to Michaels lighting up with right hands… THEN SHAWN LANDS ON JERICHO ON THE OUTSIDE WITH A SLOPPY PLANCHA!!!

Koslov stands tall in the middle of the ring, looking for his next victim… WHEN CENA SPEAR TACKLES KOSLOV… AND BOTH MEN GO TUMBLING THROUGH THE ROPES AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

We’re finally getting more Cena and Koslov as the two trade right hands, neither backing down. The brawl is intense, nobody gains the upper hand, and they eventually fight up the ramp, disappearing through the curtain.

Back inside of the ring, Michaels slid in, noticing Cody getting to his feet after being dropped previously… SHAWN DRILLS CODY WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

BUT THEN TURNS STRAIGHT INTO AN RKO FROM ORTON!!!

At the same time, The Rock staggers back to his feet, and Jericho runs at him… Rock catches Jericho… ROCK BOTTOM!!!

NO!!! ORTON BREAKS IT UP WITH A TITLE SHOT TO THE BACK OF THE ROCK’S HEAD!!!

The Rock falls face first to the canvas, knocked loopy after the title shot. Jericho looks at Orton thankfully, before noticing Orton has moved to a corner of the ring, almost in a trance.

Jericho keeps a look out as Orton charges across the ring… ORTON PUNTS THE ROCK RIGHT IN THE SKULL!!!

A stunned silence fills the arena now as Rock remains motionless, face down on the mat. The cameras focus in on the face of Orton, and there’s a hint of surprise on his face, which then quickly switches to pure euphoria.

The heat starts to pick up now as Orton exits the ring and backs up the ramp, holding onto his cherished WWE Title. Whilst Orton is pleased with himself, the carnage has dissipated around ringside and the final shot is of The Rock, remaining motionless on the mat…

My bar has been set so low with the last round of predictions, either I repeat and continue my losing streak or break through :)

WWE Championship;
Triple Threat Match:
Randy Orton (c) vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H
I can't see Randy losing the title here. You've teased enough of HBK/HHH misfiring over the past few shows, it only makes sense for one of them to turn- and I think while the logical and safe turn will always be HHH in this type of scenario, give us the "what if?" of Shawn turning and giving us one last ridiculous heel run.

Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match:
Team Cena (John Cena, Batista, CM Punk, John Morrison and Rey Mysterio) vs. Team Koslov (Vladimir Koslov, Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Mr. Kennedy and Ted DiBiase)
Wanted to state real quick that I seriously think Low Ki ends up in an IC title feud at some point, and if we took things even further, ECW Stoj would have Dibiase get taken out earlier in the night and replaced with a debuting Homicide :lol The faces have more to lose than the heels. I can see a type of scenario where Cena and Batista are the final two, only for Batista to take out Cena. And now I've almost talked myself into picking the heel team haha. I'm sticking with the faces, but I expect tons of fuckery and am really looking forward to how this all plays out.

Bonus Questions
Who will drop the fall in the WWE Championship Triple Threat Match? HHH after HBK turns on him
Who will be eliminated first in the Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match? Ted Dibiase
Who will score the most eliminations in the Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match? Batista
Who will be the survivor/survivors in the Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match? Cena and Batista

Really looking forward to this one man. You're on fire right now with the project. Excited to see how wrong I am again on all of this...

Thanks for those who left predictions. Also, first time writing a traditional Survivor Series Elimination match so that's another one off the bucket list...

WWE Survivor Series
November 22nd, 2009
Washington, D.C.
Verizon Centre

After the opening match of Survivor Series, we cut to the back where SHAWN MICHAELS stands by the interview set. Gone is the uneasiness of his last few weeks, instead replaced by a look of steely focus as he stares into the camera, wrestling gear already on.

Shawn Michaels: The last two weeks have been a bit of a roller coaster ride for old HBK, but I’m putting that to the side tonight. You see, what happened on Raw between me and Triple H was a misunderstanding and I’m sorry for my part in it. I really am, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is every man for himself. At this age, this could be my last show, and I need to win the WWE Championship one last time.

Short and sweet from the focused Michaels, who looks set to accomplish his goals tonight…

After the next match, we end up in the locker room of LEGACY, and it’s quite the full room tonight. The WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON stands at the front of the room, looking at other Legacy members, CODY RHODES, MR. KENNEDY and TED DIBIASE, as well as associates, CHRIS JERICHO and VLADIMIR KOSLOV. Everybody is in their gear, listening to what Orton has to say.

Randy Orton: Winning a Survivor Series Elimination match can do wonders for your career, believe me, I know. You’ve put yourself into this situation, now you’ve just to finish the job. Tonight’s about domination and victory.

Orton pauses, locking eyes with each man, ensuring they understand. Once he gets to Koslov, his expression softens, but his stare lingers. Koslov looks as stoic as ever.

Randy Orton: As for you, Vladimir, your undefeated run has proven to all of us what you can do. If you have the chance to destroy or cripple John Cena tonight, you should take it. Nothing else matters, that’s your goal above all else.

Koslov gives a subtle nod to affirm his understanding which pleases Orton. With that, the motivational speech is over, and everyone in the room goes back to getting ready for their respective matches…

After the next match, we are back at the interview set, where much like his DX comrade earlier, TRIPLE H stands alone. Wearing the focused scowl of a man determined to become champion, H begins to speak.

Triple H: What happened on Raw between me and Shawn, a little push and shove, that was a little, friendly spat. It was no big deal but honestly, maybe it’s better like this. I’m DX for life, and Shawn will always be my best friend, but at least we both know for sure that tonight it really is every man for themselves.

Hunter takes a breath, furrowing his brow further.

Triple H: Make no mistakes about it, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’d cave my grandmothers skull in with a sledgehammer to become champion, so imagine what I’ll do to my best friend and a guy who turned his back on me. By the end of tonight, I will be the WWE Champion.

One last scowl is given to the camera before Triple H turns away, ready for his complicated title opportunity later tonight…

The night continues with another match occurring, before we now see the group of wrestlers known as TEAM CENA tonight. Obviously JOHN CENA is front and centre, and to his left are BATISTA and CM PUNK, whilst to his right are REY MYSTERIO and JOHN MORRISON. What’s interesting here is that there’s no surprise that Morrison and Punk are standing as far away from each other as possible.

John Cena: Tonight, we go to work. Hustle, loyalty respect is our foundation as a team and we promise victory. And on a personal level, I’m finally going to get my hands on Koslov in a match.

Cena’s jaw clenches like only his can, intensity rising at the thought of Koslov. Big Dave raises his eyebrows at Cena’s words though.

Batista: I get it, you lost the match so you can’t get a shot, but I’ll be using this match tonight to get a title shot.

Standing next to ‘Tista, Punk looks at him and smirks.

CM Punk: So will I.

Now Batista smirks, the two staring into each other’s eyes, both refusing to blink. Then, from the other side of Cena…

Rey Mysterio: Me too!

John Morrison: Ditto.

Suddenly, there’s some real tension amongst the team, everybody stating their true intentions. Looking a little concerned, Cena steps in.

John Cena: Alright, let’s just keep it calm. Fact is we all want a title shot, that shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody. If we all survive tonight, we should all be in line.

Batista scoffs.

Batista: All of us except for you. You’re barred from title shots.

Surprisingly, Cena doesn’t seem mad at this, nodding in agreement.

John Cena: You’re right, but the Rumble is only two months away. I win that and I get my shot, and another two months is nothing when I’ve already had to wait four months.

That’s all we hear as now our camera’s cut back to ringside, although it’s likely the intriguing team meeting between Team Cena is still in progress…

We’re another match into the show, our featured matches are about to begin, but before that, we’re backstage where RANDY ORTON is now standing alone in the back.

Randy Orton: Now that I’ve helped my associates get ready for their match, I can focus on my title defence tonight. I have complete confidence that I will retain my WWE Championship tonight because I am the top wrestler not just on Raw, no, but in all the WWE. People might not like it, but it’s the truth and tonight, I guarantee that won’t change.

Orton taps the WWE Title around his waist to further emphasise his point.

Randy Orton: Unforgiven proved that Triple H cannot beat me. No Mercy proved that the facts are that Shawn Michaels’ time is past him. I am the present, I am the superstar of now, and it’s why at the end of the night, I will still be WWE Champion.

Full of confidence and aura, Orton continues to stare into the camera, as we head to ringside for the next match…

Match Six
Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match
Team Cena (John Cena, Batista, CM Punk, John Morrison and Rey Mysterio) vs. Team Koslov (Vladimir Koslov, Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes, Mr. Kennedy and Ted DiBiase)

The two men elected to start things off from each team were CM Punk and Chris Jericho. Having just recently clashed over the IC Title, the two are familiar with each other. They have some smooth mat wrestling sequences to start the match, with the two trading the advantage consistently. After reaching stalemate after stalemate, Punk backs to his corner to take a deep breath when Batista slaps him on the back, tagging himself in.

Punk isn’t overly happy with the tag, but Batista pays him no attention. Instead, the hometown hero runs through Jericho with a Clothesline! The rest of the heel team try to get involved, minus Koslov, but Batista cleans house, clearing out the ring. After letting out a primal roar, getting a mega ovation from the fans, Batista tags in Rey Mysterio.

Whereas Batista used brute strength to dominate, Mysterio uses speed. He has similar success immediately, until he gets into a two on one scenario. Rey peppers both Cody and DiBiase with leg kicks, keeping them off balance. Mysterio then bounces off the ropes to build momentum… RUNNING STRAIGHT INTO A DOUBLE BACK ELBOW FROM PRICELESS!!!

This allows the heel team to now isolate Mysterio from his team, and dominate the smallest man in the match. The beatdown on Rey is brutal, and at one point, Cody stands over Rey, and gets the attention of Cena. Cody then bounces off the ropes, dusts off the shoulder… CODY HITS A FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!!

Maintaining his composure, Cena shrugs it off whilst Cody wears a shit eating grin. Cody continues to dominate Mysterio, until he tags in Jericho, who keeps it up as well. Eventually, Jericho drags Rey up and lands a few right hands, before sending him bouncing off the ropes… BUT REY COMES BACK WITH A FLYING HEADSCISSORS!!!

A big pop comes from the crowd as both men start crawling towards their corners. Jericho gets to his first, tagging in DiBiase, and then Rey makes the hot tag to Batista. Batista gets in and starts cleaning house again, immediately running through DiBiase with a Clothesline! Kennedy approaches Batista, but Batista manhandles him and throws him into the corner of the ring.

Instead of following up, Batista runs across the ring and knocks Koslov off the apron. Kennedy comes stumbling out of the corner… BATISTA RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A SPEAR!!!

Cody runs at Batista, but gets caught… SPINEBUSTER FROM BATISTA…

BUT HE SLAMS CODY DOWN ONTO THE PRONE BODY OF KENNEDY!!!

The Washington D.C. fans are loving the work of their guy, as DiBiase then runs at Batista… DIBIASE GETS A SPINEBUSTER AS WELL!!!

As Batista gets back to his feet, looking for his next victim, Jericho attacks him from behind. Jericho lands clubbing blows to the gigantic back of Batista… UNTIL MORRISON TAKES OUT JERICHO WITH A FLYING DROPKICK OFF THE TOP!!!

Jericho rolls out to the floor after the attack, and Morrison struggles to his feet, suffering a somewhat rough landing. Cena and Punk both enter the ring, not getting involved but just keeping an active watch, as Batista shakes off Jericho’s attack and focuses on DiBiase. ‘The Animal’ drags him into position… BATISTA BOMB!!!

BATISTA KEEPS HIM STACKED FOR THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #1: Ted DiBiase @ 8:32

The faces have no time to celebrate their early numbers advantage (5-4), as before Batista can even get to his feet… KOSLOV RUNS THROUGH BOTH CENA AND PUNK WITH A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

Standing tall, Koslov turns to see Morrison running at him… KOSLOV SIDESTEPS MORRISON AND SENDS HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Suddenly, the fans begin to cheer like crazy, as Koslov returns to the centre of the ring, and goes face to face with Batista. The hometown hero runs his mouth, yapping away, whilst Koslov remains as silent as ever, AND THEN BOTH MEN EXPLODE!!! They trade right hands, neither willing to back down. They are big punches, the crowd making noises with each one… UNTIL KOSLOV SNATCHES BATISTA OUT OF NOWHERE AND HITS A SIDE BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!!

The air is driven out of the arena as Batista goes down, but Koslov is unable to capitalise. As he gets back to his feet, Cena confronts him and begins hammering away with right hands. The blows rock Koslov, but he remains standing, when CM Punk begins teeing off with body and leg kicks to Koslov at the same time. Being the beast that he is, Koslov still refuses to go down.

Cena continues with the right hands, whilst Punk takes a few steps back… PUNK NAILS KOSLOV WITH A ROLLING SOLE BUTT!!!

That leaves ‘The Moscow Mauler’ reeling but still on his feet, so Cena bounces off the ropes… JUMPING SHOULDERBLOCK FINALLY KNOCKS KOSLOV DOWN!!!

The image of the immovable object crumbling to the canvas gets an epic pop from the crowd. Cena gets back to his feet, looking to pump up the crowd further, when he’s tripped from the outside and dragged out of the ring by Cody. They start teeing off on the outside, distracting Punk… ALLOWING KENNEDY TO COME FROM BEHIND AND NAIL A LOW BLOW!!!

Punk falls to his knees, in agony, grabbing at his nuts, as Batista runs through Kennedy with a Clothesline! Before Batista can drag Kennedy back up, Jericho attacks Batista and hammers away with rights and lefts. Batista simple absorbs the blows, before shoving Jericho away. Jericho stumbles backwards and then gets grabbed by Batista and whipped into the ropes.

Jericho clings onto the ropes so he doesn’t return, just as Batista ducked his head for a Back Body Drop… KENNEDY CLOCKS BATISTA WITH A KNEE LIFT!!!

Batista staggers right into a CODEBREAKER FROM JERICHO!!!

Somehow, even with Jericho flat on his back, Batista remains standing, although stumbling around the ring… WHEN KOSLOV HEADBUTT’S A GOD DAMN HOLE IN HIS CHEST!!!

KOSLOV HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #2: Batista @ 10:46

Holy shit! The fans start booing up a storm, unhappy with their hometown guy being eliminated so early on. Still out of it, Batista rolls to the outside and the action continues. Morrison pulls himself onto the apron, looking to step back into the ring, but before he can, Jericho charges at him and knocks him back down to the floor. Cena then slides back inside of the ring, and he bum rushes Koslov, tackling him and sending him crashing into the corner.

The two trade blows in the corner of the ring, audience buzzing in anticipation. Due to them being in the corner, the referee tries to get in between them and call for a break… BUT BOTH MEN SHOVE THE REFEREE AWAY AT THE SAME TIME!!!

The official staggers backwards in shock, as the hatred Cena and Koslov have been building for each other really shows. They continue to trade haymakers, nobody getting the advantage, until Cena gets clobbered across the back by Kennedy. Kennedy lands another couple of shots, impacting Cena… WHEN MYSTERIO TAKES OUT KENNEDY OUT OF NOWHERE WITH A FLYING HURRICANRANA!!!

Seeing Cena still fighting with Koslov and still breaking even, the heels panic. Jericho runs at them… CLOTHESLINE TO CENA!!!

NO!!! CENA DUCKS…

AND JERICHO ACCIDENTALLY CLOTHESLINES KOSLOV!!!

Being that he’s Koslov, he stumbles backwards, leaning against the turnbuckles but doesn’t lose his footing. Jericho freezes at accidentally hitting his team captain though… BEFORE TURNING RIGHT INTO AN FU!!!

Jericho is down and Cena gets back up… KOSLOV SPEAR TACKLES CENA… AND BOTH MEN FALL THROUGH THE MIDDLE ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

They fall to the floor, landing with a splat, but it doesn’t stop their disdain for each other. The referee implores them to get back into the ring, threatening to start his count, but they pay him no attention. Instead, Cena and Koslov continue to throw big punchers at each other. The fans are at a fever pitch, enjoying the brawl, until the ring announcer is instructed by the referee to make the announcement… BOTH CENA AND KOSLOV HAVE BEEN COUNTED OUT!!!

Elimination #3 and #4: John Cena and Vladimir Koslov @ 12:00

Both captains are eliminated much earlier than expected, and there’s almost a gasp of shock that reverberates throughout the crowd. Cena and Koslov don’t even notice that they have been eliminated, continuing to brawl on the floor, as a barrage of referees run out to try and separate them. The ref’s fail miserably, but eventually the hate fuelled fight goes over the barricade, through the crowd and out of sight.

Meanwhile, inside of the ring, Jericho is struggling to his feet, indicating he’ll be the legal man for the heels… AND MYSTERIO CATCHES HIM WITH A SPRINGBOARD SEATED SENTON!!!

REY STAYS SITTING ON JERICHO’S UPPER BODY FOR THE COVER…1…2…NO!!! CODY DIVES IN AND BREAKS UP THE COUNT!!!

The shot Cody landed to break up the count hit Rey in the back of the head and really rocked him. Despite the referee’s pleas, Cody then drags Rey up by the mask… CROSS RHODES!!!

Having done the damage, Cody then sprints across the ring, landing a running forearm which knocks Punk off the apron. He looks to then land a right hand to Morrison as well, but Morrison blocks it, grabs a hold of Cody, and drags him over the top rope and onto the apron. Morrison then lands a few right hands, eventually knocking Cody down to the floor with Punk.

Despite not being tagged in, Morrison now enters the ring, but he has no interest in the action inside of the ring. Instead, Morrison runs the ropes, building momentum… CORKSCREW PLANCHA TAKES OUT BOTH CODY AND PUNK ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

The move gets a big pop as all three men remain down on the outside. Inside the ring, Jericho is back up and notices that Rey is down, so Jericho runs towards the ropes… LIONSAULT!!!

NO!!! JERICHO CRASHES AND BURNS AS MYSTERIO ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Jericho gets back up, holding his mid-section, but Rey darts behind him and Dropkicks him in the back. Jericho falls forward, landing with his upper body draped over the middle rope, allowing Rey to dial it up… 619!!!

Rey stays on the apron, watching, as Jericho refuses to stay down, stirring and then slowly getting up. Once Jericho battles back to his feet… REY SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE ROPES!!!

NO!!! KENNEDY GETS ON THE APRON AND SHOVES REY OFF THE ROPES AND BACK INTO THE RING!!!

REY AWKWARDLY FLIES THROUGH THE AIR…

AND JERICHO CATCHES HIM WITH AN EPIC CODEBREAKER IN MID AIR!!!

JERICHO MAKES THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #5: Rey Mysterio @ 13:39

Ever the sportsman, Rey rolls out uneventfully after being eliminated, and Morrison slides on in from the outside. It’s a 3 (Cody, Jericho, Kennedy) to 2 (Morrison, Punk) advantage now for the heels, so Morrison tries to go on the attack immediately. He peppers Jericho with right hands, before whipping him into the corner. Morrison runs in after him… HITTING A BIG RUNNING DROPKICK IN THE CORNER!!!

As Jericho stumbles out of the corner, grabbing at his jaw, from the apron, Kennedy grabs at the hair of Morrison. JoMo shrugs him off, and drops Kennedy to the floor with a right hand, but then turns into a Clothesline from Jericho! With Morrison down, Jericho runs towards the ropes and leaps off them… LIONSAULT!!!

NO!!! PUNK GRABS JERICHO AS HE HITS THE MIDDLE ROPES…

AND PUNK HANGS JERICHO OVER THE TOP ROPE!!!

Jericho bounces off the ropes, falling back down in the centre of the ring. Morrison quickly scrambles to his feet… STANDING SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!!

MORRISON STAYS ON TOP FOR THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! CODY PULLS MORRISON OFF OF JERICHO!!!

Before Cody can do anything to Morrison, PUNK SPRINGBOARDS OFF THE ROPES!!!

NO!!! CODY RUNS OVER AND PUSHES PUNK OFF THE SPRINGBOARD… SENDING HIM TUMBLING OVER THE TOP AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

It’s an awful landing for Punk on the outside, gaining groans from the fans. After admiring his handiwork, Cody turns INTO A STEP UP ENZUIGURI FROM MORRISON!!!

Cody rolls out, not being the legal man anyway, and now Morrison focuses on Jericho, slowly bringing him back up to his feet. Jericho was playing possum, he shrugs Morrison off, rakes the eyes… AND THEN NAILS THE CODEBREAKER!!!

JERICHO HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! MORRISON GETS A FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE!!!

Frustrated and in need of a rest, Jericho gets up and heads to his teams corner, tagging in Kennedy. Kennedy gets in, full of arrogance, somehow still obnoxiously chewing on his gum. He drags Morrison up and sends him off the ropes… CATCHING HIM WITH A SPINEBUSTER!!!

KENNEDY WITH THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! PUNK PULLS KENNEDY OFF OF MORRISON FROM THE FLOOR!!!

Whilst the pinfall is broken up, a sore Punk doesn’t realise that Cody has jumped off the apron. Cody hits Punk from the side, clobbering him with a right hand… BEFORE IRISH WHIPPING PUNK… SENDING HIM CRASHING INTO THE STEEL STEPS!!!

The noise echoes throughout the arena, and Punk is once again, in a lot of trouble. Inside the ring, Kennedy pulls Morrison up, cockily letting everybody know this is about to be the end of JoMo. KENNEDY HOOKS HIM UP FOR THE MIC CHECK!!!

NO!!! MORRISON SNEAKS AN INSIDE CRADLE OUT OF NOWHERE…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #6 Mr. Kennedy @ 16:10

Kennedy’s eyes go wide and he’s in complete shock, arguing with the referee as the fans mark out. We’re now level again at 2 (Morrison, Punk) – 2 (Cody, Jericho). Morrison remains on his hands and knees, having pulled that one out of nowhere, WHEN A FURIOUS KENNEDY RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH A KNEE LIFT!!!

Kennedy is furious as he spits out his gum, arrogance replaced by pure fury. Eventually he leaves the ring and stomps up the ramp, but whilst he’s eliminated, his tantrum has put his team in a very strong position. With Morrison struggling, Cody and Jericho take over, isolating and putting a beating on the man with the bedazzled abs. The focus is on Morrison’s mid-section, and Cody shows just how far he’s come, not afraid to cheat when required.

Eventually we get to a point where Jericho is laying in right hands on Morrison, before whipping him into the corner. Jericho charges in after him, but runs straight into a raised elbow to the jaw from Morrison! As Jericho drops to a knee in pain, Morrison monkey rolls across the ring and makes the hot tag to Punk! With Jericho still stumbling around… PUNK HITS A SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE TO ENTER THE RING!!!

Sensing trouble, Cody runs in and sprints at Punk… PUNK CATCHES HIM WITH A SNAP POWERSLAM!!!

Cody immediately scurries to the outside, remaining on his feet, rubbing his back… MORRISON COMES LEAPING OFF THE APRON WITH A FLYING KNEE TO CODY’S TEMPLE!!!

Inside the ring, Punk tees off on Jericho with a series of hard body kicks, sending Jericho back into the corner. After landing a few more, Punk heads to the opposite corner before running at Jericho… CORNER HIGH KNEE!!!

NO!!! JERICHO CATCHES PUNK COMING IN…

HOISTS HIM IN THE AIR…

AND DRILLS HIM WITH A POWERBOMB!!!

Without a moment of hesitation, Jericho keeps hold of the legs… TURNING PUNK OVER INTO THE WALLS OF JERICHO!!!

The hold is locked in and Jericho leans back, really applying the pressure. Punk can’t escape, screaming in pain, but he doesn’t raise his hand to tap either… WHEN A SPRINGBOARD ENZUIGURI FROM MORRISON BREAKS THE HOLD!!!

Jericho lets go of the hold as he falls flat on his face. Meanwhile, Morrison heads back to his teams corner, putting his arm out for a tag. Favouring his back, Punk quickly crawls over and makes the tag to Morrison. JoMo immediately starts climbing to the top rope, and then remains perched on top, waiting for Jericho to get to his feet. When Jericho gets up… FLYING DROPKICK FROM MORRISON!!!

NO!!! JERICHO SIDESTEPS MORRISON… WHO CRASHES AND BURNS!!!

Morrison is down in the centre of the ring, so Jericho immediately runs towards the ropes… FINALLY THE LIONSAULT CONNECTS!!!

JERICHO STAYS ON TOP FOR THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! PUNK SOMEHOW DIVES IN AND MAKES THE SAVE!!!

Exhausted but still pushing through, Punk drags Jericho to his feet, before placing him up on his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! CODY RAKES THE EYES OF PUNK OUT OF NOWHERE TO BREAK IT UP!!!

As Cody now focuses on Morrison, after swivelling off the blinded Punk’s back and landing on his feet… JERICHO GOES FOR THE CODEBREAKER!!!

NO!!! PUNK BLOCKS IT… REMAINING ON HIS FEET…

AND THEN USES JERICHO’S LEGS TO CATAPULT HIM INTO THE CORNER!!!

With Jericho in trouble, Punk runs into the corner after him… CORNER HIGH KNEE CONNECTS!!!

PUNKS COMES OUT WITH THE BULLDOG TO JERICHO!!!

NO!!! JERICHO SHOVES HIM OFF…

RIGHT INTO A CLOTHESLINE FROM CODY!!!

Morrison gets up just after this and runs at Cody, Clotheslining him over the top rope and to the outside! Punk battles to his feet after being rocked by the Clothesline from Cody, but Jericho’s waiting for him… CODEBREAKER!!!

NO!!! PUNK SIDESTEPS JERICHO!!!

Jericho somehow adjusts and lands on his feet, albeit off balanced. Punk shoves Jericho, WHO STUMBLES STRAIGHT INTO A KICK TO THE FACE FROM MORRISON!!!

Jericho crumbles to the canvas, but is surprisingly quick to make it to his feet… ONLY TO THEN GET HIT WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK FROM PUNK!!!

Before Jericho can collapse, Morrison grabs him around the neck… MOONLIGHT DRIVE!!!

MORRISON HOOKS THE LEG… AS PUNK STANDS GUARD…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #7: Chris Jericho @ 21:53

Jericho rolls out, having been eliminated after a tremendous effort, and now Cody is on his own against the unlikely duo of Morrison and Punk. As Morrison gets back to his feet and exchanges a look with Punk… CODY SHOVES PUNK FROM BEHIND… SENDING HIM CRASHING INTO MORRISON!!!

JoMo falls back into the corner, whilst a spaghetti legged Punk remains standing, until Cody grabs the Intercontinental Champion and throws him out of the ring. When Cody turns around to face Morrison, ‘The Shaman Of Sexy’ has staggered out of the corner… CODY GETS A SCHOOL BOY PIN…

AND HE HOLDS THE TIGHTS…1…2…NO!!! MORRISON JUST KICKS OUT!!!

Both men scramble to their feet, fuelled by adrenaline and at the same time, Punk has dragged his way back onto the apron. Morrison is a whisker quicker than Cody at getting to his feet… SPRINGBOARD ENZUIGURI FROM MORRISON!!!

NO!!! CODY DUCKS…

AND MORRISON ACCIDENTALLY KNOCKS PUNK OFF THE APRON WITH THE ENZUIGURI!!!

Groans come from the audience as that’s their second miscommunication in barely any time at all. Morrison is startled and it gives Cody the opening to stick a thumb in Morrison’s eye. As Morrison claws at his eye, temporarily blinded… CODY HITS THE DEAD END RHODES!!!

CODY WITH THE COVER…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #8: John Morrison @ 23:07

We’re down to the final two now. It’s Punk from Team Cena and Cody from Team Koslov. Rolling out of the ring after being eliminated, Morrison looks PISSED. He shakes his head, hands on his hips, before picking up his fallen teammate, and Morrison roughly rolls Punk back into the ring. As Morrison storms up the ramp, still irate, our commentary team can’t decide whether Morrison rolled Punk in to help or hinder him.

Either way, the annoyed Morrison disappears through the curtain, leaving the final two men inside of the ring. Cody is up and ready, dragging Punk to his feet… SILVER SPOON DDT!!!

CODY HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! PUNK GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Cody is frustrated at Punk’s resilience, rushing to his feet, only to begin stomping the life out of him. Cody stomps away, until he feels Punk is softened up to drag him back up… CROSS RHODES!!!

NO!!! PUNK SPINS OUT AND GETS BEHIND CODY!!!

Rhodes spins around in a panic to face Punk… PUNK MEETS HIM WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!!!

The blow sends Cody staggering backwards, until he trips through the middle rope and lands with a thud on the outside. Despite the exhaustion, Cody works to his feet relatively quickly… TOPE SUICIDA FROM PUNK TAKES CODY DOWN AGAIN!!!

It’s a big time pop from the fans, but both men remain down outside the ring. Wanting a definitive winner, the referee doesn’t count them out, letting them work to their feet. Obviously Punk is up first, and he hoists the dead weight of Cody up, struggling to drag him towards the ring. Eventually, Punk rolls Cody in, but instead of following in, Punk ascends up to the top rope.

‘The Straightedge Superstar’ waits for Cody to reach his feet, before leaping off the top… CROSSBODY CONNECTS!!!

BUT CODY ROLLS THROUGH, HOOKING BOTH LEGS…1…2…NO!!! PUNK JUST KICKS OUT!!!

Both men rush to their feet after the flash pin, but Punk’s up first and he’s able to land a STEP UP ENZUIGURI!!!

Punk wastes no time, bringing Cody right back to his feet, only to lift him up onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! CODY DESPERATELY STARTS THROWING ELBOWS TO THE TEMPLE OF PUNK!!!

The elbows soften up Punk enough for him to loosen his grip, and Cody manages to slide behind Punk, keeping a hold of Punk’s head and neck the entire time… CROSS RHODES!!!

CODY WITH THE COVER…1…2…NO!!! PUNK SOMEHOW GETS A SHOULDER UP YET AGAIN!!!

Cody takes a moment to argue with the ref, closing his eyes in despair, knowing this one will be continuing. Dragging Punk into a seated position… CODY APPLIES THE ORTON LOCK!!!

He yanks, and pulls at the hold, much like his mentor. Using all the leverage in the world, Cody looks to squeeze the life out of Punk, and it seems to be working as the IC Champ begins to fade. With Punk showing no signs of life, the ref begins his check, RAISING PUNK’S ARM UP ONCE… IT DROPS!!!

THE SECOND TIME… IT DROPS AGAIN!!!

THE REF CHECKS THE ARM FOR THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME…

NO!!! PUNK MANAGES TO KEEP HIS ARM UP!!!

The fans start going crazy as Punk shows signs of life, fighting hard just to make it to one knee. This gives him the space to start firing elbows to Cody’s stomach, which in turn allows Punk to work to his feet. As Punk shrugs himself free of Cody’s grip, Cody strikes with a knee to the gut… FOLLOWED BY A FISHERMAN’S SUPLEX!!!

CODY MAINTAINS THE BRIDGE…1…2…NO!!! PUNK ROLLS A SHOULDER OFF THE MAT!!!

This time when he gets back up, Cody stalks Punk, and as Punk gets back up, Cody grabs his head… CROSS RHODES!!!

NO!!! THIS TIME PUNK EXPLODES WITH RIGHT HANDS AND THEN KNEES TO CODY’S HEAD!!!

It’s enough to cause Cody to let go and back off, in need of shaking out the cobwebs. After relenting for a second, Cody runs at Punk to reapply the pressure… PUNK CATCHES HIM WITH A HUGE ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!!!

Cody stumbles backwards, only remaining on his feet thanks to the ropes. The ropes send Cody staggering back towards Punk… PUNK HITS ANOTHER ROUNDHOUSE KICK THIS TIME WITH THE LEFT LEG!!!

IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING IT WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK WITH THE RIGHT LEG!!!

Defying all the odds, despite being dazed, Cody is still standing, flailing his arms wildly, until Punk props him up onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

PUNK FALLS TO HIS KNEES AND HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Elimination #9: Cody Rhodes @ 27:45

Winners: Team Cena – John Cena, Batista, CM PUNK, John Morrison and Rey Mysterio @ 27:45

A tremendous pop greets the end of the match, as a spent CM Punk has his hand raised by the referee. Punk looks like he has been through hell, sweat dripping from everywhere, but he can’t help but smile. The ref then hands him his Intercontinental Title, which he raises above his head to more cheers.

The celebration continues for Punk, who then looks towards the hard camera, and signals that he wants the WWE Championship around his waist as well. Victorious, standing tall, Punk then slowly makes his way to the back, officially the sole survivor…

After a Smackdown backstage segment, it’s time for the Raw main event…

Match Seven
WWE Championship;
Triple Threat Match:

Randy Orton (c) vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H

Right from the get-go, this one is every man for himself. After the tension building between DX teammates, and the physical nature of their fight on Raw this past Monday, Michaels and Triple H are not interested in teaming together. Instead, it’s chaotic beginning with all three men going at each other. After being dropped by a Triple H right hand, Orton remains seated in the corner, rubbing at his jaw.

This means for the first time tonight we get Michaels and Triple H face to face, and they don’t hesitate to lock up. They start with a Collar and Elbow Tie Up, and split the victory on some basic wrestling exchanges in a very sportsmanlike fashion. After losing a second chain with a basic Hammer Lock, a frustrated Triple H socks Michaels in the jaw, and now we’ve got a fight on our hands.

The friends start brawling like it’s 2002, trading shots in the centre of the ring, and a smirking Orton just slithers out of the ring. With a smirk on his face, ignoring the insults from the fans, Orton is happy to let DX tear each other apart, until they notice. Suddenly, the brawl between H and Michaels stops, and with Orton jaw jacking with a fan, he doesn’t notice that they are coming at him from each side.

With nowhere to go, Orton gets grabbed by the best friends and they roll him into the ring. Following Orton in, DX take their time, pinballing Orton around the ring, really having their way. After Michaels drops Orton with a Knife Edged Chop, the champion bounces back to his feet. Orton leans against the ropes, rubbing his now red chest, when Shawn runs at him… BUT ORTON DROPS DOWN… LOW BRIDGING SHAWN OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

It’s a smart move from the champ, who has no time to admire his handiwork, because as soon as he stands back up… TRIPLE H RUNS THROUGH HIM WITH THE HARLEY RACE HIGH KNEE!!!

With Michaels landing awkwardly and remaining down on the outside, Triple H has Orton to himself for the first time since September. H pinballs Orton around the ring, beating him up with his taped up right fist. After peppering the champ with shots, H looks to whip Orton into the ropes, but Orton pivots, sending H into the ropes instead. Orton ducks his head, thinking Back Body Drop… no! H CATCHES HIM WITH THE KNEE FACEBUSTER!!!

Orton somehow remains on his feet, although clearly out of it, so ‘The Game’ runs through him with a hard Clothesline! Wanting to finish things early, Trips stands over the fallen Orton and gets him in position, hooking his arms… PEDIGREE!!!

NO!!! ORTON BREAKS FREE AND PUSHES TRIPLE H AWAY!!!

After taking a few steps backward due to the shove, Trips charges towards Orton, RIGHT INTO A STANDING DROPKICK!!!

Orton finally gets the advantage, but he doesn’t get a second to capitalize or enjoy it. Once he’s back up, Michaels enters the ring and starts trading right hands with Orton. HBK eventually gets the better of the exchange, backing Orton against the ropes with a blend of punches and chops. Shawn looks to whip Orton into the ropes, but Orton reverses, sending Shawn into the ropes instead…

MICHAELS COMES BACK WITH A FLYING FOREARM!!!

FOLLOWED BY THE KIP UP!!!

The fans start popping for Michaels, who’s feeling it here, when Triple H runs at him, but Michaels catches him with a Manhattan Drop! H remains on his feet, grabbing at his balls, allowing Michaels to land a hard right hand, and then drop him with a Clothesline! There’s no rest for the wicked as now Orton is back up, but Michaels catches him with the same combo, Manhattan Drop, right hand, Clothesline!

‘The Showstopper’ is feeling it now, as he notices Triple H pulling himself up using the ropes. Shawn meets his best friend as he gets to his feet and tees off with chops to the chest. The sound of flesh meeting echoes throughout the arena, until Shawn senses something… HE TURNS TO ORTON RUNNING AT HIM WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! MICHAELS DUCKS…

BUT ORTON FOLLOWS THROUGH AND CLOTHESLINES TRIPLE H OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Head on a swivel, Orton quickly turns back to face his other challenger, but Michaels greets him with a Scoop Slam. The champion is down in the centre of the ring, and it allows HBK to step onto the apron, and climb up to the top rope. After taking a moment to survey the crowd… MICHAELS COMES OFF THE TOP WITH THE FLYING ELBOW!!!

BUT HE CRASHES AND BURNS AS ORTON ROLLS OUT OF THE WAY!!!

Michaels immediately grabs at his arm after the rough landing, as Orton slowly works to his feet. Orton waits, primed, smashing the canvas like ‘The Viper’ that he is, and when Michaels gets to his feet… RKO!!!

NO!!! MICHAELS SHOVES ORTON AWAY!!!

AND ORTON STAGGERS FORWARDS… COLLIDING WITH TRIPLE H, WHO HAD JUST GOT BACK ONTO THE APRON!!!

As Triple H falls back to the floor, Orton, dazed and confused, staggers backwards… MICHAELS GETS AN O’CONNOR ROLL…1…2…NO!!! ORTON KICKS OUT!!!

Both men scramble back to their feet quickly, and Shawn goes for another Clothesline…No! Orton ducks under… AND HITS HIT INVERTED HEADLOCK BACKBREAKER!!!

Not for the first time tonight, Orton hits a big move and looks to have the advantage, only for his other challenger to intervene. As Orton gets to his feet, Trips is back in and meets him with right hands. The attack doesn’t relent with Orton backed into the ropes, before H whips him into the opposite ropes. When Orton comes back off the ropes, H CATCHES HIM WITH THE DOUBLE A SPINEBUSTER!!!

‘The Cerebral Assassin’ doesn’t even bother going for the pin, instead noticing that Michaels has made it back to his hands and knees. H helps him the rest of the way to his feet, only to then land a few rights, sending Michaels stumbling into the corner. Triple H softens him up with a few more shots, before hoisting Michaels up, placing him in a seated position on the top rope.

Not wasting anytime, H climbs up after Shawn and starts to lock him in a Front Facelock… SUPERPLEX!!!

NO!!! BEFORE TRIPLE H CAN HOOK MICHAELS, ORTON SHOVES HIM FROM BEHIND…

SENDING TRIPS OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE FLOOR!!!

It’s a nasty landing for H, taking one of his bigger bumps in a while. Orton now replaces Triple H, climbing up to the top to meet Michaels, but before Orton can even attempt setting up a move, Michaels explodes with right hands. HBK lands shot after shot, softening Orton up enough that Michaels can shove Orton off the top rope.

Orton lands with a splat on the canvas, remaining on his back in the middle of the ring. After composing himself, Michaels is able to adjust his positioning on the top rope, before leaping off… FLYING ELBOW DROP CONNECTS THIS TIME!!!

Surprisingly, there’s no pin attempt from Michaels, who bounces back to his feet. He shoots a quick look to the outside, making sure Trips is still down. Knowing he has time, Shawn heads to the corner of the ring, and much to the delight of the crowd, he starts tuning up the band. As Orton staggers up, Shawn moves forward… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! ORTON DROPS TO THE CANVAS LIKE HE’S BEEN SHOT TO AVOID THE MOVE!!!

Michaels looks shocked by the tactic, and the fans boo loudly, with Orton then immediately rolling underneath the bottom rope and to the outside. There’s no real reprieve though as Michaels charges towards Orton… BASEBALL SLIDE DROPKICK!!!

Conveniently, Orton falls to the floor, and is now right next to the fallen Triple H. Both men work to their feet on the outside, with Michaels stepping onto the apron and then climbing up to the top rope. The fans begin buzzing in anticipation, as Orton and Trips get to their feet… MICHAELS TAKES BOTH MEN OUT WITH A MOONSAULT OFF THE TOP ROPE!!!

An epic pop comes from the crowd, followed by a “holy shit” chant. Michaels is pulling out all the stops tonight! Despite being battered after the high spot, Michaels pushes himself to get to his feet, and then opts to focus on his best friend. Shawn struggles, but manages to lift the dead weight of Triple H up, and he rolls him back inside of the ring. Even after that effort, Michaels is laboured, slowly climbing onto the apron to follow his DX colleague into the ring… WHEN ORTON CATCHES MICHAELS WITH A LOW BLOW FROM BEHIND!!!

Michaels’ eyes close and his mouth goes wide, and he falls off the apron and to the floor, holding his privates the entire time. Paying him no attention, Orton turns his focus to Triple H, who is struggling to his feet inside of the ring. The WWE Champion slides into the ring after him, stalking him, and when H is up… RKO!!!

NO!!! H PUSHES ORTON OFF OF HIM!!!

Orton turns back around to face Trips, but is met with a kick to the gut. H shoves Orton’s head between his legs, and hooks the arms… PEDIGREE!!!

NO!!! ORTON TWISTS OUT…

AND THEN LANDS THE RKO!!!

ORTON HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! MICHAELS DIVES ON TOP TO BREAK UP THE COUNT!!!

Michaels lands a few clubbing blows to Orton’s back, before dragging him up, and trying to whip him into the corner… No! ORTON REVERSES, SENDING SHAWN HARD INTO THE CORNER… AND MICHAELS HITS THE UPSIDE DOWN FLAIR CORNER BUMP!!!

Somehow, using the ropes, Michaels pulls himself back up, leaning against the corner. Orton runs towards him for the Corner Clothesline…No! MICHAELS BACK BODY DROPS ORTON OVER THE TOP ROPE AND OUT TO THE FLOOR!!!

Now it’s Orton’s turn to take a vicious bump to the outside. With the WWE Champion out of the picture, Shawn remains in the corner, noticing that his best friend is still down. For the second time tonight, Shawn starts tuning up the band, and when H gets up… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! H DUCKS!!!

Trips immediately kicks Michaels in the gut, before shoving Michaels head between his legs… PEDIGREE!!!

NO!!! SHAWN GETS A DOUBLE LEGGED TAKEDOWN…

AND CATAPULTS TRIPLE H RIGHT INTO ORTON… WHO HAD JUST CLIMBED BACK ONTO THE APRON!!!

Orton crashes down to the floor, whilst H stumbles backwards… INTO A SCHOOL BOY FROM MICHAELS…1…2…NO!!! TRIPS KICKS OUT!!!

Both men get to their feet as quickly as they can, and Triple H surprisingly strikes first, with a kick to the gut. The quickness of Hunter even caught Shawn off guard, who bends down to grab at his mid-section… PEDIGREE!!!

TRIPLE H HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! MICHAELS SOMEHOW GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The reaction is mixed from the crowd, some pleased the match is continuing, whilst some want Triple H to be champion. The camera zooms in to show H’s face and he’s in absolute shock. On the outside, Orton is shown, slowly trying to work back to his feet. Inside of the ring, a surprised Trips drags Michaels into position again… PEDIGREE!!!

NO!!! SHAWN BACK BODY DROPS HIS WAY OUT OF IT!!!

Michaels falls to his knees, almost completely out of it, before somehow pushing himself back up. Triple H stumbles back to his feet as well… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! TRIPS CATCHES THE LEG!!!

Hunter spins Michaels around in a circle before nailing a Clothesline…No! Shawn ducks the Clothesline… BEFORE FINALLY CONNECTING WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

After landing the killer blow, Michaels collapses to the canvas from both exhaustion and pain. Trips doesn’t fall to the canvas, instead as he goes to fall backwards… ORTON CATCHES HIM WITH A SCHOOL BOY PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Randy Orton @ 14:02

The crowd reaction isn’t pleasant, disappointment seeping through, as Orton immediately slides out of the ring. Having escaped from harms way, Orton snatches the WWE Championship from the timekeeper’s table, and raises it high in the air. Despite the odds, Orton is still on top of the world. Orton celebrates around ringside and up the ramp, getting plenty of boos, but remaining WWE Champion.

Once Orton has made his way to the back, the focus switches to inside of the ring. Michaels has managed to get back to his feet, and he shakes his head, looking extremely disappointed in himself. Not long after, on the other side of the ring, Triple H gets up, wearing the exact same expression as Michaels.

Both men lock eyes and meet in the centre of the ring. Despite being bitterly disappointed, they share a hug, showing that DX and their friendship is still alive and well. They then exit the ring together, giving somewhat of a feel good ending to another successful Orton title defence…

Being that it’s a Smackdown main event tonight (let’s just say The Undertaker is returning or something), the final thing we are featuring is some hype for the next pay per view…

WWE Monday Night Raw
November 23rd, 2009
Hershey, Pennsylvania

Twenty four hours removed from Survivor Series, the show opens up with a video recap of the pay per view event. It shows all the highlights of the matches which impacted Raw. This includes Team Cena defeating Team Koslov when WWE Intercontinental Champion CM Punk outlasted Cody Rhodes to become the sole survivor, and Randy Orton sneaking a School Boy pin on Triple H to retain the WWE Championship in a Triple Threat match against both Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

Post the Survivor Series recap, the standard Raw opening video and theme plays, accompanied by an epic pyro display. With smoke quickly filling the arena, the cameras pan around the arena, showing the fans screaming in excitement, until…

***VOICES***

The familiar theme hits and savage heat quickly fills the arena as the conglomerate known as LEGACY step through the curtain. As always, they are led by the WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON, with the other members, CODY RHODES, MR. KENNEDY and TED DIBIASE remaining only one step behind. Wearing the WWE Championship proudly over his shoulder, Orton looks supremely confident, an aura about him, as he gets a microphone once they’re all inside the ring.

Randy Orton: Everybody thought I was going to come out here tonight without my WWE Championship, but everybody was wrong. Last night, Survivor Series, against both Shawn Michaels and Triple H in what was basically a two on one match, and I still couldn’t be beaten. I proved yet again that I am the best in the WWE last night by defeating D Generation X by myself. I proved that I am the best wrestler alive today one week ago on Raw when I punted The Rock in the skull. I sent him back to Hollywood, ending his career in the WWE once and for all.

The whole crew is smirking and celebrating Orton’s accomplishments in the last seven days, except for the fans, who boo vehemently.

Randy Orton: One thing I’ve learned during my time as WWE Champion is that there is no rest for the wicked. I’m standing here, basking in my dominance, but I know I need to have one eye on my next challenger. I’m not even sure there’s anybody left to face me, but I’m sure Mike Adam-…

***THIS FIRE BURNS***

An epic pop greets the first babyface sighting of the evening, as the WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION CM PUNK surprisingly interrupts Orton. Noticing the annoyance in Orton’s eyes, and the deep rooted hatred on Kennedy’s face, Punk opts to stay on the stage. He does shoot Orton a confused look as he begins to speak though.

CM Punk: First, fair is fair, I wanted to wish you congratulations on finally winning without interference. That was impressive, however why I’m really out here is because I don’t understand your confusion over your next challenger. Since I’m the one who actually survived the elimination match, beating all your buddies in the process, I think the next WWE Championship match to make is obvious. I should get a WWE Title match, and quite frankly, there’s no more reason for you to duck me like you’ve been doing.

The fans response says they’re in support of Punk’s idea. A flash of annoyance appears on Orton’s face, but he quickly regains his composure, laughing it off.

Randy Orton: You’re wrong, Punk. You haven’t proven anything to me.

Punk shakes his head in disbelief, a wry smile forming on his face.

CM Punk: I think you’re in denial, champ, because I’ve proven something to myself and all of these people. And deep down you know it too. The last three or four times we’ve been against each other in singles matches, you’ve lost. I’ve pinned you with the Go To Sleep each time.

The IC champ puts his hands together, indicating Orton going to sleep. A red faced Orton is furious.

Randy Orton: Spin it out however you want, the answer is still no. You will be getting NOTHING until you can defeat every single member of my elite group in singles matches.

Well, that certainly seems like a way forward. Punk nods, seemingly agreeing, but before anything else can be said…

***SEXY BOY***

Another big cheer comes from the fans, as Michaels’ memorable rendition of his own theme plays through the PA system. Shawn steps out onto the stage, next to Punk, simply shooting him a polite nod. Michaels isn’t dancing or jiving tonight, not in the mood as he directs his attention to Orton, who doesn’t look happy to see him either.

Shawn Michaels: Normally I’d agree with your compelling arguments, Punk, but not with how last night at Survivor Series went down. With all due respect to you, Punk, you need to get in line and wait your turn. Orton never pinned me last night and lucked into a pin on Triple H.

It’s a mixed reaction from the crowd, some favouring Punk, some favouring Michaels.

Shawn Michaels: It just so happens that the WWE’s next pay per view, Armageddon is in San Antonio, Texas. I don’t how many years I’ve got left in the tank so there’s no way I’m leaving that show in my hometown without the WWE Championship.

Inside the ring, Legacy watch intrigued as Punk isn’t happy with Michaels’ interruption or argument. The two bicker a little off mic, until…

***TO BE LOVED***

The Raw theme hits and it’s a lukewarm reaction for the returning General Manager of Raw, MIKE ADAMLE. He’s rather no nonsense as he steps onto the stage, straightens his suit and gets right to business.

Mike Adamle: Punk, Shawn, I have to give it to both of you, you both make good points.

Adamle pauses, everybody hanging on his next words.

Mike Adamle: But WWE Championship opportunities aren’t earned by winning debates, they are earned right there in that very ring. And quite frankly, there’s some other talent I’ve been super impressed with as well. Therefore tonight’s main event will be a Four Way match to determine the number one contender to the WWE Championship. It will be CM Punk versus Shawn Michaels versus John Morrison versus Vladimir Koslov!

Whoa. A huge main event has been announced. Orton looks in two minds by the decision, whilst both Punk and Michaels nod, eager to prove themselves. With the announcement made, amongst the fans cheers, Adamle’s music hits and he makes his way to the back…

With the segment over, we head to the commentary position where MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER hype the big time main event just announced. They also promote the other featured match tonight which will be a Six Man Tag Team Match. Bryan Danielson, John Cena and Rey Mysterio versus Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes and William Regal!!! After all the selling of what’s to come is out of the way, our commentary team send us to commercials.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, the lovely KELLY KELLY is smiling brightly at the interview set.

Kelly Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time… JOHN CENA!!!

Inside the arena, the crowd can be heard popping like crazy, as JOHN CENA steps into the screenshot. Wearing a smile, his custom jean shorts, and a ‘you can’t see me’ t-shirt and matching hat, Cena looks excited to be in Hershey tonight.

Kelly Kelly: John, my apologies but I have to ask. I know you’ve had a long time out of the WWE Championship picture now, and after hearing the four way announced for tonight’s main event, again a match not including you due to your contracted stipulation with Randy Orton, what are your thoughts?

Cena shrugs, his good mood not even faltering for a second.

John Cena: It is what it is, Kelly. I’m fine with it. It’s all good, it’s not like I have some great claim to being in that match anyway. I didn’t survive at the pay per view or anything.

‘The Champ’ without a title does look a little disappointed at himself for what happened last night.

Kelly Kelly: Speaking of last night at the Survivor Series, what’s going on between you and Vladimir Koslov right now?

Cena’s smile disappears and body stiffens at the mention of Koslov.

John Cena: All I know is that Koslov likes to run around and talk about how he wants some competition. I know he’s in the number one contender’s match tonight, despite having the same result as me at Survivor Series, but that’s here nor there. I’m right here like I always have been, and if Koslov wants competition, I’m not one to turn down a challenge. As the saying goes, Vladimir, if you want some, come get some.

Before Kelly can ask about the six man tonight, Cena storms off of screenshot, worked up at the mention of ‘The Moscow Mauler’. That leaves Kelly to send us back to ringside for the opening match of the night…

After defeating TED DIBIASE in the opening match of the night in a little under seven minutes, TRIPLE H celebrates his rebound victory. As he celebrates, getting loud cheers from the fans, he signals that he still wants that WWE Championship around his waist…

We then cut to a random area in the back, where CM PUNK is standing by, now in his wrestling gear.

CM Punk: Tonight isn’t going exactly as I had planned; I should already be the number one contender but that’s okay. One more hurdle is nothing when you think of the last nine months. I deserved a shot since last summer when I was supposed to be number one contender before Cena lost the title to Orton in that sham of a match.

Punk shakes his head for a moment before continuing.

CM Punk: Months and months have gone by since then, and I still haven’t had my shot. Orton’s been doing everything possible to dodge me, but that ends after tonight. The fact is, I am the best professional wrestler in the world. I’ve beaten everyone in my way, I’m the WWE Intercontinental Champion, and I will be the next WWE Champion.

The IC Champ says his bit before going back into preparation mode for the main event…

Skipping further into the show, we need to get that pay per view hype video package in…

A little later on in the night we join our sexy resident backstage interviewer, KELLY KELLY, at the interview set.

Kelly Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time… JOHN MORRISON!!!

Wearing his typical rounded shades, JOHN MORRISON steps onto the set. Whilst Kelly smiles, showing off her pearly whites, Morrison doesn’t look to be in an overly smiley mood.

Kelly Kelly: Thanks for joining me, John. I want to ask you about tonight’s number one contender match for an opportunity at the WWE Championship, but before I do that, I have to touch on last night. After being eliminated, you picked up your teammate, CM Punk and rolled him back inside of the ring to be at the mercy of a fresher opponent. Were you trying to help or hinder CM Punk last night?

JoMo remains stone faced, thinking over the question for a few moments before answering.

John Morrison: My mindset was all over the place after the disappointment of getting eliminated last night. I was worried the referee would count Punk out, since he became the legal man, so I was trying to help him, but I didn’t really consider the repercussions… But I don’t want to talk about Punk right now. I want to talk about me. The only reason I was eliminated last night is because me and Punk make an awful team considering we hate each other.

A wry smirk comes across Morrison’s face.

John Morrison: That unfortunate misalignment between us caused me to not be one of the surviving team members last night, and that hurts. But tonight, I get the chance for redemption. It’s just me, on my own, and the facts are that I was the last person to pin Randy Orton in a one on one match. And Randy knows, just like I know I could do it again.

Feeling a little more upbeat after getting some things off his chest, Morrison smiles and nods at Kelly, who sends the show to commercials…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Match Three

Bryan Danielson, John Cena and Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes and William Regal

Let’s be honest, this is six guys who are all awesome in their own right, so this match ruled right from the get-go. The intriguing pairing to kick off proceedings involved Danielson and Regal in an emotional student versus teacher battle. They locked up and went at it with some gruesome chain wrestling and mat work, both trying to out technique each other. It’s rather even until Danielson spins out of a Hammer Lock… AND DANIELSON GETS A BACK SLIDE PIN…1…2…NO!!! REGAL JUST MANAGES TO BREAK FREE!!!

Eyes wide in shock, Regal stays down, staring at his student, whilst Danielson motions with his thumb and index finger how close they were to an early finish. Regal doesn’t appreciate the smirk on Danielson’s face, rushing to his feet so they can do battle yet again. They continue to go back and forth, until Regal bounces Danielson off the ropes, and Cena blind tags himself in.

As Cena steps into the ring, Danielson slides out. Regal’s confused for a second before Cena starts lighting him up with right hands. Cena uses his power to dominate Regal, until the Brit gets a desperation thumb to the eye. The temporary blinding of Cena allows for Regal to take over, and now the heel team get the opportunity to briefly isolate Cena. It doesn’t last to long though as once Jericho gets in and sends Cena into the corner, he charges in after him, running straight into a back elbow to the jaw!

The blow causes Jericho to stagger backwards towards the centre of the ring. Cena bounces off the ropes to build momentum… FLYING SHOULDER BLOCK!!!

NO!!! JERICHO DUCKS AND CENA CRASHES TO THE CANVAS!!!

A smirking Jericho quickly heads over and tags Regal back in. Regal grabs the fallen Cena and drags him up to his feet… REGAL PLEX!!!

NO!!! CENA THROWS DESPERATION ELBOWS TO BREAK FREE!!!

Regal takes a few steps back to shake the cobwebs and then runs at Cena… CENA CATCHES HIM WITH A POWERSLAM!!!

With the fans urging Cena on, he crawls across the ring and tags in Mysterio! Rey comes in and immediately dominates Regal, keeping him off balance with his blend of quickness and high flying. Sensing things going pair shaped, Cody illegally steps into the ring… BUT DANIELSON MEETS HIM WITH A STEP UP GAMENGURI!!!

Rey ends up in a fist fight with Jericho, so Danielson grabs Regal and sends him into the corner. ‘The American Dragon’ charges in after Regal… CORNER FOREARM CONNECTS!!!

After dropping Jericho, Mysterio ascends to the top rope, to notice both Jericho and Cody getting back up… CROSSBODY OFF THE TOP TAKES OUT BOTH JERICHO AND CODY!!!

Not being the legal man, Cody immediately rolls underneath the bottom rope and to the outside, looking for a reprieve. Danielson watches and follows Cody, stepping onto the apron, and leaping off the apron… TAKING OUT CODY WITH A FLYING EUROPEAN UPPERCUT!!!

Back inside of the ring, a recovered yet flustered Regal runs at Mysterio, who drops to the canvas, pulling down the top rope at the same time… REGAL GETS LOW BRIDGED AND TUMBLES OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Rey isn’t alone inside the ring though, as Jericho is back up to his feet. Mysterio quickly adjusts his mask and runs at Jericho… FLYING HEADSCISSORS!!!

Both men bounce back to their feet quickly, but Jericho is frazzled, his back to Rey, and a Dropkick to the backs ends Jericho falling through the ropes and to the outside. Regal is back up on the floor, and he hurriedly assists Jericho in getting back to his feet… REY TAKES BOTH MEN DOWN WITH A SPRINGBOARD PLANCHA!!!

The move gets a big pop from the fans, the faces are in control, as Rey raises his hands in the air and we cut to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

We return from the break to see Mysterio and Regal are still the legal men. Regal is battling to his feet inside the ring, whilst Mysterio is perched on the top rope. When Regal gets up, Rey jumps off… SEATED SENTON!!!

REY REMAINS SITTING ON REGAL FOR THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! CODY CLOTHESLINES REY’S HEAD OFF TO BREAK THE PIN!!!

The fans don’t like it as Cody drags Mysterio towards his teams corner, before leaving the ring. The referee stops the faces from entering the ring, and this allows the heels to begin to isolate the masked man. As they dominate Rey, the heels aren’t afraid to play it dirty, although not everything is roses for them. Considering Regal is one half of the tag champs, and Cody wants those titles back, there are some tense tags between the two.

Still, they manage to keep it together and a change in the match actually comes when Jericho is in the ring with Mysterio. With Rey on his knees, Jericho arrogantly paint brushes the back of his head a few times… BEFORE GETTING REY UP FOR A POWERBOMB!!!

NO!!! JERICHO REVERSES INTO A HURRICANRANA!!!

Even after the big move, Rey’s slow to crawl towards his corner, whilst Jericho manages to tag in Cody rather quickly. Rhodes rushes in and grabs Rey’s ankle, doing all he can to prevent the tag. Showing off his balance, Rey hops up on one foot… AND NAILS CODY WITH AN ENZUIGURI!!!

Now Regal looks to run in illegally to stop the tag, but he’s too late, and Cena gets the hot tag. The former WWE Champion comes in like a house on fire, taking care of all three members of the opposition with punches and Clotheslines. After taking care of Regal and Jericho, Cena notices Cody attacking from the side. Cena ducks a Clothesline attempt… CENA NAILS THE PROTO BOMB!!!

As only he can, to the delight of the fans, Cena bounces off the ropes, dusts off that shoulder… FIVE KNUCKLE SHUFFLE!!!

With Cody remaining down, Cena notices Jericho using the ropes to pull himself up, so Cena sprints in that direction… CENA CLOTHESLINES JERICHO OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

By the time Cena turns back towards the centre of the ring, Cody has stumbled to his feet, so Cena snatches Cody up onto his shoulders… FU!!!

NO!!! REGAL COMES FROM NOWHERE WITH AN EYE RAKE TO STOP THE MOVE!!!

Not for the first time tonight, Cena is temporarily blinded, so he dumps Cody off of his shoulders. Cena stumbles backwards, rubbing at his eyes, but he just so ends up in his own corner so Danielson tags himself in! Danielson comes in and runs towards the centre… DOUBLE FLYING DROPKICK TAKES OUT BOTH CODY AND REGAL!!!

The fired up Danielson kips up to his feet, garnering a huge reaction from the crowd. Danielson stalks Cody, who gets up first… DANIELSON DROPS HIM WITH THE ROLLING ELBOW!!!

Regal looks to run over and attack Danielson from behind, but Danielson senses it and takes Regal down… APPLYING THE CATTLE MUTILATION!!!

The deadly submission hold is locked in, and Regal grits his teeth for a moment, before yelling in pain. Regal’s stuck in the hold, with seemingly no escape, when Jericho enters the ring and runs towards the ropes… LIONSAULT TO BREAK THE HOLD!!!

NO!!! AS JERICHO JUMPS ONTO THE ROPES… CENA PUSHES HIM FROM BEHIND… SENDING HIM CRASHING OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Cena follows Jericho out to continue to beat him, ensuring he can’t interrupt what’s happening inside the ring. Danielson holds onto the bridge, showing his incredible stamina, and Regal’s finally looks like he’s about to pass out, when Cody manages to break the hold. Cody drags Regal away and stomps all over Danielson, before dragging him to his feet… DEAD END RHODES!!!

NO!!! DANIELSON THROWS DESPERATION ELBOWS TO BREAK FREE!!!

As Cody stumbles away, Danielson whips him into the ropes, and when Cody comes back, Danielson catches him with a Drop Toe Hold! The veteran move causes Cody to fall forward, landing with his upper body draped over the middle rope. Of course this means Mysterio comes in illegally to dial it up… 619!!!

Cody falls onto his back on the canvas, dazed, as Rey’s on the apron… SPRINGBOARD SPLASH!!!

NO!!! AS REY GETS ON THE TOP ROPE… REGAL PUSHES REY OFF…

SENDING MYSTERIO TO LAND ON JERICHO AND CENA… TAKING OUT ALL THREE MEN ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

The fans gasp at the move, as inside the ring, Danielson realises he’s currently got Cody and Regal to deal with. Noticing Regal stepping through the middle rope to enter the ring, Danielson runs at him… DANIELSON HITS REGAL WITH A BIG JUMPING KNEE!!!

Regal falls into the corner, looking like he might be knocked loopy. The referee bends down into the corner to check on Regal, who’s eyes are rolling in the back of his head. With this distraction happening, Danielson turns back towards the centre of the ring… WHERE CODY SMASHES HIM IN THE SKULL WITH REGAL’S TAG TEAM TITLE!!!

Cody quickly discards the evidence, throwing it to the floor. Suddenly, Regal is fine, shooing the referee away, who turns to see CODY PINNING DANIELSON…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Chris Jericho, Cody Rhodes and William Regal @ 18:38

The fans give plenty of heat for the dastardly way in which Cody picked up the victory for his team. Obviously he doesn’t care, but he knows to get out of harms way, immediately rolling out of the ring.

Cody picks up the tag title he used during the match, and raises it above his head. His intentions are clear, as he then drops the belt, leaving Regal to fume inside of the ring…

The show cuts inside of a locker room and whilst we are still a little while from the main event, a focused SHAWN MICHAELS is going through the process of lacing up his boots. As he does this, his eyes suddenly dart to the entrance of the locker room, as TRIPLE H has walked in. Despite hugging during Survivor Series, after twenty four hours to mull over the events, there’s a certain uneasiness between the best friends.

Triple H: Look, Shawn. I’m sorry I didn’t catch you earlier tonight. You were getting yourself a title match, I was in the first match of the night, just two ships passing in the night you know? I just want you to know from my end that all the stuff from Survivor Series and the even the weeks leading up to it is all water under the bridge.

Trips looks relieved at getting that off his chest, and Michaels looks equally relieved to hear it.

Shawn Michaels: I couldn’t agree anymore, Hunter, and I’m sorry I didn’t say something sooner or try and find you. I got to be honest, I’ve been distracted. After failing at No Mercy and again at Survivor Series, I have to confess I’m getting kind of desperate about the WWE Championship. I can’t help but think that this entire comeback this fall needs to culminate with me winning the title.

H nods, understanding more than most. He’s spent most his career desperate to regain or retain World Titles.

Triple H: We both know you can do this, Shawn. And if anybody tries any funny stuff, I will have your back tonight.

The two share a crotch chop high five, all is well in the world again. H then pats Shawn on the back, as he sits back down to continue to lace his boots…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

After another segment, we head to the commentary station, where MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER have some news. As a result of the previous six man tag match, two match announcements have been made for next week’s Raw. In a match that won’t be featured, Bryan Danielson and Paul London will face Priceless in a number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championships match. The second match confirmed is that CM Punk will defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against William Regal!!!

Skipping ahead to the final segment before the main event, we head up inside one of the arena’s skybox, where suited up and looking like a million bucks is BATISTA. Wearing his shades inside as usual, Batista has a calm demeanour, sitting on one of the plush leather couches.

Batista: Last night at Survivor Series, in my hometown of all places, it was not a good night for me. Then coming here to Raw tonight, I was disappointed that I’m not in the number one contenders match. I can kind of understand Adamle’s logic though because if I were to win it, the main event of Armageddon would be pretty lacklustre. It would take me two minutes to beat Orton, and get the revenge I crave, and that would be terrible for pay per view buyers. I will earn a title shot one way or another, but considering I wasn’t included in the match tonight, there’s no hard feelings.

Erm, an interesting promo from Batista, as he sinks further into the couch, getting comfortable for the main event…

Match Five
Number One Contendership for the WWE Championship

CM Punk vs. John Morrison vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Vladimir Koslov

Considering his recent domination, and being the only heel in the match, Koslov is the target early. Much to the delight of the fans, all three babyfaces go at Koslov, with Punk having success repeatedly targeting the left knee of the big man. As Koslov stumbles after a hard leg kick from Punk, all three babyfaces simply maul him, whaling away with lefts and rights, doing their best to overwhelm him.

The rapid fire beating causes ‘The Moscow Mauler’ to drop to a knee, but then in a scary sight of strength… KOSLOV EXPLODES TO HIS FEET… THROWING ALL THREE MEN OFF OF HIM AT THE SAME TIME!!!

It’s an incredible feat of strength from Koslov, causing the fans to gasp in fear. From here, Koslov starts showing his usual dominance, throwing all three of his smaller opponents around. This continues until the experienced Michaels picks his shot, and manages to nail Koslov with a Chop Block on his already impacted left leg! Koslov staggers forward, lowering his head slightly to grab at his knee… WHEN PUNK DROPS HIM WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK RIGHT TO THE TEMPLE!!!

PUNK JUMPS ON KOSLOV FOR THE COVER…1…NO!!! MICHAELS IMMEDIATELY DRAGS PUNK OFF OF THE PIN!!!

NOW MICHAELS GOES FOR THE PIN…1…NO!!! KOSLOV KICKS OUT WITH AUTHORITY… SENDING MICHAELS FLYING ACROSS THE RING!!!

Koslov rushes back to his feet, looking furious, but Morrison is already perched on the top rope and jumps off… MISSILE DROPKICK CONNECTS!!!

This time Koslov stumbles backwards before tripping over the ropes and tumbling to the outside. He shows some impressive athleticism though, hooking his arm on the ropes to slow his fall, meaning Koslov lands on his feet on the outside. Seeing this, Punk sprints across the ring… PUNK NAILS KOSLOV WITH A BASEBALL SLIDE DROPKICK!!!

Almost like a terminator, Koslov stumbles back but then immediately moves forward again… BUT NOW MICHAELS AND MORRISON NAIL HIM WITH A DOUBLE BASEBALL SLIDE DROPKICK!!!

The double team move causes Koslov to stumble back further, with a stunned look on his face. INCREDIBLY, he does remain on his feet though. Seeing this, Michaels uses the top rope to throw himself to the outside… PLANCHA!!!

NO!!! KOSLOV CATCHES MICHAELS!!!

Michaels’ facial expression immediately changes to one of panic. He kicks and squirms but can’t break free… AS KOSLOV THROWS HIM ACROSS RINGSIDE WITH A FALLAWAY SLAM ON THE CONCRETE FLOOR!!!

Shawn’s in trouble after that, immediately groaning in agony and feeling for his troublesome back. Meanwhile, Koslov works back to his feet, only to be confronted and mauled with punches by both Punk and Morrison. The unlikely duo work together for the second night in a row, softening Koslov enough to drag him towards and roll him onto the announcer’s table.

Punk and Morrison climb up to greet Koslov and hook him with a Double Front Facelock… PUNK AND MORRISON SUPLEX KOSLOV THROUGH THE ANNOUNCER’S TABLE!!!

The fans pop like crazy as FINALLY, Koslov remains down. With Koslov down and Michaels down, despite feeling the big bump themselves, Punk and Morrison work themselves back inside of the ring. The two are no stranger to each other, and they go nose to nose, trading words, until they explode, starting to trade stiff forearms. Neither man is willing to back down and with the brawl continuing, we cut to our final break of the evening.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

When we return, the battle between Punk and Morrison is still ongoing, with Punk whipping Morrison into the corner. Punk runs in after Morrison… CORNER KNEE!!!

NO!!! MORRISON DUCKS UNDER AND CARRIES PUNK IN A SEATED POSITION ON HIS SHOULDERS…

INTO AN ELECTRIC CHAIR DROP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING!!!

It’s an impressive counter from Morrison, who stalks the IC Champ, waiting for Punk to get up. When he does, Morrison runs towards the ropes… SPRINGBOARD ENZUIGURI!!!

NO!!! PUNK DUCKS!!!

Morrison lands on his feet and turns into some hard body kicks from Punk. As Morrison grabs at his ribs… PUNK GOES UP HIGH WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK!!!

NO!!! MORRISON DUCKS…

AND THEN TAKES PUNK DOWN WITH AN STO OVER HIS KNEE!!!

Immediately, Morrison scrambles back to his feet… STANDING SHOOTING STAR PRESS!!!

MORRISON HOOKS PUNK’S LEG…1…2…NO!!! PUNK SHOOTS A SHOULDER OFF THE MAT!!!

Morrison shakes off the near fall and stomps on Punk a few times, before heading out onto the apron. JoMo climbs to the top rope, but before he can steady himself, Punk dives onto the ropes, causing Morrison to lose balance and get crotched on the top rope. Sensing an opportunity for something big, Punk climbs up on top with Morrison, immediately meeting him with hard right hands to keep him at bay.

Suddenly, Michaels comes from behind, and scoops up Punk onto his shoulders… CARRYING HIM TO THE CENTRE OF THE RING IN AN ELECTRIC CHAIR POSITION…

AND MORRISON LEAPS OFF THE TOP… DOOMSDAY CROSSBODY!!!

NO!!! PUNK ROLLS FORWARD INTO A VICTORY ROLL ON MICHAELS AS MORRISON CRASHES TO THE CANVAS…1…2…NO!!! MICHAELS JUST ESCAPES!!!

Both men scramble to their feet after the flash pin and trade right hands. Punk wins the exchange and then whips Michaels into the ropes… ONLY FOR MICHAELS TO COME BACK WITH THE FLYING FOREARM!!!

FOLLOWED BY THE KIP UP!!!

The fans start making some real noise now as Shawn is clearly feeling it. He starts teeing off with right hands on Punk, and Morrison cops them as well. He then runs through both men with Clotheslines, before nailing Morrison with a Scoop Slam! Michaels quickly heads to the apron and then climbs to the top rope, readying himself… FLYING ELBOW!!!

NO!!! BEFORE MICHAELS CAN JUMP, PUNK RIPS HIM OFF THE TURNBUCKLES AND ONTO HIS SHOULDERS…

GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! MICHAELS ELBOWS HIS WAY OUT OF IT!!!

Punk’s dazed from the elbows and forced to allow Shawn to wriggle free. Michaels lands on his feet and then takes Punk down with a Scoop Slam. With the Intercontinental Champion down, Michaels heads up to the top rope for the second time…FLYING ELBOW CONNECTS ON PUNK!!!

Bouncing back to his feet, Shawn gets the crowd into things, playing to them, before he starts tuning up the band. Just as Morrison starts to get to his feet, Michaels notices Koslov getting back on the apron and darts over to nail him with a Clothesline which sends him falling back to the floor. Koslov lands on his feet though… BUT THEN A CORKSCREW PLANCHA FROM MORRISON TAKES HIM OUT!!!

Inside the ring, Michaels is now stalking Punk, who battles back to his feet… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! PUNK SIDESTEPS IT…

ONLY TO GET BLINDSIDED WITH A SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE FROM MORRISON!!!

As Punk goes down, Shawn is almost in shock… AND MORRISON QUICKLY NAILS HIM WITH A SPINNING HEEL KICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD!!!

Michaels falls to the canvas, allowing JoMo to focus on Punk again. He drags Punk up and punches him in the face a few times, before attempting to whip him into the corner. Punk reverses, sending Morrison crashing into the corner instead. The IC Champ immediately charges in after Morrison… CORNER KNEE CONNECTS!!!

Punk wraps his arms around Morrison’s head and neck… BULLDOG OUT OF THE CORNER!!!

NO!!! MORRISON SHOVES PUNK OFF OF HIM…

RIGHT INTO A SIDE BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX FROM KOSLOV!!!

Koslov has recovered and has made an immediate impact. KOSLOV PINS PUNK…1…2… BOTH MORRISON AND MICHAELS DIVE ON TOP OF KOSLOV TO BREAK THE COUNT!!!

Irritated more than anything, Koslov gets back up but Morrison and Michaels work together, nailing him with right hands. They then whip him into the ropes, but when Koslov comes back off the ropes… KOSLOV RUNS THROUGH BOTH MEN WITH A DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE!!!

After taking both men down, Koslov turns to figure out which man to focus on… SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE FROM PUNK NAILS KOSLOV!!!

The big man staggers, flailing his arms to somehow maintain his balance and footing. Scrambling back to his feet, Morrison signals for Punk to back off, and Morrison bounces off the ropes… JUMPING KNEE STRIKE TO KOSLOV’S HEAD!!!

Once again, the big man is staggered but somehow still up, when the fans notice Michaels has climbed up to the top… MOONSAULT FROM MICHAELS TAKES KOSLOV DOWN FINALLY!!!

AND MICHAELS REMAINS ON KOSLOV FOR THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! PUNK AND MORRISON QUICKLY DRAG MICHAELS OFF THE PIN!!!

With the pin interrupted, Michaels doesn’t get up straight away, so Punk and Morrison yet again rekindle their rivalry. Morrison beats Punk to the punch, landing a few shots, before Morrison whips Punk into the corner, but Punk jumps towards the ropes… SPRINGBOARD CROSSBODY OFF THE MIDDLE ROPE!!!

NO!!! MORRISON DUCKS AND PUNK CRASHES AND BURNS!!!

Punk rushes back to his feet, favouring his mid-section… SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

NO!!! PUNK DUCKS…

AND MORRISON CATCHES SHAWN’S FOOT!!!

Morrison holds the foot, causing Michaels to jump around on one foot… ALLOWING PUNK TO DRILL MICHAELS WITH A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!!!

Michaels crumbles to the canvas as Koslov decides to roll underneath the bottom rope and to the outside for a breather. Realising Koslov has potentially never been this vulnerable, rivals Punk and Morrison share a nod, seemingly having a mutual understanding. Punk stands with his back to the ropes, and Morrison runs at him… PUNK BACK BODY DROPS MORRISON OVER THE TOP ROPE…

SENDING HIM CRASHING ONTO KOSLOV!!!

The big move gets an epic pop from the crowd, as Morrison looks to work to his feet. Incredible, Koslov is right back up with Morrison… BUT A TOPE SUICIDA FROM PUNK TAKES OUT BOTH MEN ON THE OUTSIDE!!!

Even with Koslov down, Punk knows who the smarter man to target is, hoisting the prone body of Morrison up, and rolling him back inside the ring. Once back inside himself, Punk drags Morrison to his feet and places him on his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! MORRISON SLIPS DOWN INTO A VICTORY ROLL…1…2…NO!!! PUNK JUST ESCAPES!!!

Both men scramble to their feet, although Morrison is a bit faster… ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD FROM MORRISON!!!

NO!!! PUNK DUCKS…

But then they both freeze mid sequence, as they notice Koslov entering the ring. Suddenly, Punk and Morrison are a duo again, pouncing on Koslov with kicks and knees. After feeling but absorbing the blows, Koslov tries to power through, shoving them both back… UNTIL THEY HIT A SUPERKICK (MORRISON)/ROUNDHOUSE KICK (PUNK) COMBINATION TO SANDWICH KOSLOV!!!

Not for the first time tonight, Koslov staggers backwards but remarkably maintains his footing… Until he staggers back one step to far, tripping over the middle rope and tumbling to the outside. With the monster conquered, at least for now, Morrison turns to reconvene his battle with Punk… AND PUNK CLOCKS HIM WITH A SPINNING BACKFIST!!!

Morrison is spaghetti legged, barely keeping his feet, when Punk hoists him onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

PUNK HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!!

THE REFEREE GETS PULLED OUT OF THE RING!!!

BY MR. KENNEDY!!!

The fans are livid, hurling abuse at Kennedy, as the referee yells in his face. Kennedy doesn’t care, cockily smirking, whilst Punk sees what is happening, a look of disbelief on his face. Disbelief quickly turns to fury, and Punk gets off JoMo and leaves the ring. Punk attacks Kennedy on the outside with haymakers, and Kennedy fights back, and the two continue to brawl all around the ring on the floor.

On the opposite side of the ring, both Michaels and Koslov get to their feet. Koslov doesn’t notice that Michaels is behind him… MICHAELS SHOVES KOSLOV FROM BEHIND… SENDING HIM CRASHING FACE FIRST INTO THE RINGPOST!!!

ring. As Michaels gets to his feet, Morrison battles up inside the ring as well… BUT MICHAELS IMMEDIATELY DROPS HIM WITH SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

Punk tries to slide into the ring to prevent a pinfall from happening… NO!!! KENNEDY PULLS HIM BACK OUT!!!

With Kennedy and Punk recommencing their brawl, nobody stops MICHAELS FROM PINNING MORRISON…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Shawn Michaels @ 21:04

There’s a lot going on but the fans still pop loudly, whilst Michaels looks relieved at the fact he’ll he receiving another title shot in his hometown. The San Antonio native lets the result sink in and then starts actively celebrating, whilst the brawl between Kennedy and Punk continues up the ramp. They end up disappearing to the back, and now all the focus is on Michaels, as he signals for the WWE Title to be around his waist…

Whilst Michaels’ moment continues, RANDY ORTON steps out onto the stage, clutching the title in his hands. Orton raises the title above his head, a look of defiance on his face, the tension building between champion and challenger when a man clears his throat. All eyes dart towards the titantron, where MIKE ADAMLE is shown sitting behind his desk.

Mike Adamle: I’ll keep this brief gentlemen so the fans can get home at an appropriate hour. I got off the phone with the Board, and they’ve handed down a decision. They’ve decided to even the odds at Armageddon.

Everybody’s interest is piqued, as the GM pauses for a few moments.

Mike Adamle: They’ve noticed a recent trend which they’d like to buck. You see, in recent times Randy, all of your title wins seem to have some help from one of his friends on the outside. The board have decided that Legacy will have no impact, there ability to help you retain is coming to an end on December thirteenth. Because the main event of Armageddon will be Randy Orton versus Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship inside of a Steel Cage!!!

Adamle smiles before the tron cuts out. That leaves Orton to seethe, pains popping from his neck, whilst Michaels smirks, a glint in his eye, sensing the odds may have just been evened. On that note, the show fades to black…

It’s a jam packed show tonight, so there’s no time for any nonsense, we’re kicking off with some wrasslin’ this week…

Match One
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match

CM Punk (c) defends against William Regal

Both these men are wrestlers at heart, so they start off with some grappling. Surprisingly, despite Regal’s experience advantage, Punk managed to control the earlier exchanges, using his beloved Side Headlock to keep Regal at bay. Getting frustrated, Regal battles back to his feet and starts throwing elbows to Punk’s gut. Once Punk relinquishes the Side Headlock, Regal transitions to landing elbows to Punk’s jaw.

The IC champ staggers backwards thanks to Regal’s stiff shots, and Regal looks for a long, straight left hand. The Brit overextends and Punk’s able to duck under and apply a Wrist Lock! After keeping Regal in pain this way, Punk transitions into a Hammer Lock, which he then uses the leverage of the hold to get a trip, sending Regal falling to the canvas.

Cleverly, Punk keeps the Hammer Lock applied, before transitioning into an Arm Bar! It’s an Arm Bar with Regal’s belly to the canvas, until somehow, Regal manages to reach with his other arm and rake the eyes of Punk. Temporarily blinded, Punk lets go of the Arm Bar and gets to his feet, rubbing at his eyes. Realising this is his chance, Regal is quick to follow to his feet, and grabs Punk by the neck, landing heavy knees to Punk’s body and face.

Once Regal lets go of Punk, the champ stumbles backwards, on his haunches, as Regal charges forward… KNEE TREMBLER!!!

NO!!! PUNK SIDESTEPS REGAL!!!

Regal puts on the brakes and spins around to face Punk, turning STRAIGHT INTO A CALF KICK!!!

The shot stuns Regal, who falls to the mat and quickly rolls to the outside, looking to halt Punk’s momentum. As Regal argues with some fans who politely questions his methods, Punk bounces off the ropes to build some momentum… TOPE SUICIDA!!!

NO!!! REGAL MANAGED TO GET ONTO THE APRON AND HE LANDS A KNEE THROUGH THE ROPES TO PUNK’S CHEST!!!

Punk drops to his knees, remaining inside the ring, and now Regal hooks him up for a Vertical Suplex… REGAL SUPLEXES PUNK OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

NO!!! PUNK MANAGES TO LAND ON HIS FEET ON THE APRON!!!

They get into a forearm war, both men swinging for the fences, until Punk gets the advantage. The champion lands a few shots in a row… PUNK THEN SHOVES REGAL BACK FIRST INTO THE RINGPOST!!!

With Regal leaning against the post, remaining on the apron but grimacing in pain, Punk charges at him… PUNK LANDS A MODIFIED VERSION OF HIS CORNER HIGH KNEE ON THE APRON!!!

Regal collapses onto the canvas face first, as Punk adheres to the referee’s demands and gets back inside the ring. The champion watches Regal carefully, and Regal eventually rolls off the apron, landing, albeit wobbly, on his feet at ringside… AND THIS TIME PUNK IS ABLE TO TAKE HIM OUT WITH THE TOPE SUICIDA!!!

A big pop comes from the crowd, as Punk gets up, in complete control, and the show cuts to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

As we came back from the break, Punk remained in control, landing some right hands to Regal, before whipping him into the corner. The champ charges in after Regal… CORNER KNEE!!!

NO!!! REGAL USES BOTH HIS FOREARMS TO BLOCK THE KNEE!!!

Regal then grabs hold of Punk, keeping him tied up and close, takes a few steps out of the corner… REGAL HITS AN EXPLODER SUPLEX…

SENDING PUNK CRASHING INTO THE CORNER!!!

Regal quickly drags Punk’s body from the corner… REGAL GETS THE LATERAL PRESS WHILST DRIVING HIS FOREARM INTO PUNK’S FACE…1…2…NO!!! PUNK GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

That move was huge though and changed everything, allowing Regal to dictate the pace now. He works over the head and neck of the IC Champ, using a lot of torturous holds, and of course, he repeatedly uses the referee’s five count to his advantage as well. Despite Regal’s heat period of domination, he’s unable to put Punk away. Eventually, Regal gets frustrated, letting out a roar and sprinting towards Punk… PUNK CATCHES REGAL WITH A SNAP POWERSLAM!!!

Both men remain down after this, the referee beginning his ten count, as the crowd urge Punk on. They slowly get up, meeting in the centre of the ring at the same time, but Punk keeps Regal off balance, peppering away with body kicks. Punk puts a bit more strength into a hard body kick, but Regal catches the leg, and pulls Punk towards him… EXPLODER SUPLEX AGAIN!!!

NO!!! PUNK ESCAPES AND SHOVES REGAL HARD INTO THE CORNER!!!

Punk hurriedly takes a few steps backs before running at Regal… CORNER KNEE!!!

NO!!! REGAL CATCHES THE KNEE AGAIN…

AND HOISTS PUNK OVER THE TOP ROPE…

PUNK LANDS ON HIS FEET ON THE APRON…

PUNK LANDS A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE BACK OF REGAL’S HEAD!!!

Regal is dazed after that one, stumbling out of the corner, and as he staggers around in a circle… PUNK NAILS A SPRINGBOARD FLYING CLOTHESLINE!!!

PUNK HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…NO!!! REGAL GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

Exhausted, Punk runs a hand through his hair, mulling over what’s next before dragging Regal to his feet. The Brit is still wobbly… SO PUNK TEES OFF WITH THE PUNKER COMBO!!!

PUNK IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWS UP WITH A SPINNING BACKFIST!!!

NO!!! REGAL DUCKS…

AND CATCHES PUNK WITH A RELEASE REGAL PLEX!!!

REGAL ROLLS PUNK ONTO HIS BACK AND GETS THE PIN…1…2…NO!!! PUNK JUST GETS A SHOULDER UP!!!

The fans cheer the resilience from Punk, but it quickly turns to boos as an interested MR. KENNEDY walks down to ringside to get a closer look. The appearance of Punk’s rival seems to distract Regal though, and because he takes his time picking Punk up, Punk is able to recover enough to shrug him off… PUNK HITS THE SPINNING BACKFIST!!!

Regal is still standing, just, so Punk pops him up onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

NO!!! REGAL RAKES THE EYES TO BE ABLE TO SLIDE OFF OF PUNK!!!

With Punk blinded… REGAL DRILLS HIM WITH A BUTTERFLY SUPLEX!!!

Instead of going for the pin, Regal rolls Punk over, so his belly is on the canvas… BEFORE APPLYING THE REGAL STRETCH!!!

NO!!! PUNK MONKEY ROLLS FORWARD TO ESCAPE REGAL!!!

As Punk bounces back to his feet, Regal runs at him… PUNK LANDS A ROUNDHOUSE KICK TO THE HEAD!!!

Regal doesn’t collapse to the canvas, but instead stumbles back into the corner. Sensing Punk is about to take over… KENNEDY GETS ON THE APRON FOR THE DISTRACTION!!!

PUNK RUNS OVER AND KNOCKS KENNEDY OFF THE APRON WITH A RIGHT HAND!!!

The fans mark out as Kennedy falls to the floor, whilst Punk now sprints at Regal… CORNER KNEE FINALLY CONNECTS!!!

Instead of following up with the Bulldog, Punk separates himself from Regal, allowing the veteran to stumble out of the corner himself. Punk is waiting in the middle of the ring, and he heaves Regal onto his shoulders… GO TO SLEEP!!!

PUNK WITH THE PIN…1…2…3!!!

Winner: CM Punk @ 16:47

After the match, the bell rings and the fans cheer, but Punk has no time to celebrate, AS HE’S IMMEDIATELY ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY MR. KENNEDY!!!

Kennedy gets the upper hand immediately, laying in some right hands, but Punk fights back, and the two brawl around the ring. The hatred seeps out of both men as the brawl continues… UNTIL PUNK TACKLES KENNEDY… SENDING BOTH MEN TUMBLING THROUGH THE ROPES AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

Both men get back to their feet and the slugfest continues, the two exchanging right hands at ringside. It’s pandemonium inside the ring, the fans loving the two long time rivals going at, until a bus load of referees run down to separate the two. It takes time, but much to the dismay of the fans and the wrestlers, the refs manage to surround Punk, whilst also being able to drag Kennedy away.

With the two men now broken up, a furious Punk find a mic at ringside.

CM Punk: I’ve had just about enough of you; you bleached blonde bitch! I challenge you to stop sneaking around. No more games, be a man, and fight for what you want. Face me in the ring next week on Raw for my Intercontinental title.

BIG pop from the fans, whilst a furious Kennedy continues to get dragged up the ramp. Off mic, the loudmouth yells with enough volume that everybody can hear…

“YOU’RE ON”!!!

Despite the anger and the brawl, and both men being stopped from fighting the other, they also both get a slight smirk on their face. Clearly, they are both happy with the fact that they’ll be facing off next week as long as the match is approved by Mike Adamle…

Whilst Kennedy and Punk still get cleared from ringside, we head to the commentary station where MICHAEL COLE and JERRY ‘THE KING’ LAWLER are ready to talk about some of the action in store for tonight’s show. They mention that Raw General Manager Mike Adamle has promised a big match announcement for Armageddon. On top of that, we have a main event of Chris Jericho, Mr Kennedy and the WWE Champion Randy Orton versus D Generation X and Rey Mysterio to look forward to. Cole and Lawler then send us to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, we get a video package…

A little later on in the night, MIKE ADAMLE is in his office, finishing up a phone call, when he suddenly puts the phone down in a hurry. The Raw GM looks surprised as ECW’s MIKE KNOX has entered the office. Before Adamle can even ask what Knox is doing here, Knox puts both hands on the desk, leaning over, intimidating the GM.

Mike Knox: I have been destroying the entire ECW roster all year long. I’m here to demand that my open challenge be given room on Raw tonight!

Adamle screws up his face, looking likely to reject the idea, when Knox slams his hands down on the desk, almost snarling. The Raw GM’s expression changes to one of panic.

Mike Adamle: Uh okay, I’ll figure it out.

Without another word, Knox turns and leaves, having gotten what he wanted. Meanwhile, once the door is closed and Knox is on the other side, Adamle breathes a sigh of relief…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

After the break, we head backstage, in a random hallway, where RANDY ORTON is in deep discussions with his partners for tonight’s main event, CHRIS JERICHO and MR. KENNEDY.

Randy Orton: Chris, Ken, tonight the goal is simple. The goal tonight is to take out Shawn Michaels before he can ever get to his hometown.

Both men nod in agreement, and before we can hear anymore of the conversation, the cameras cut away…

After defeating ECW’s D’Lo Brown in less than three minutes, VLADIMIR KOSLOV stood tall, celebrating. As Koslov reminded everybody what he can do after last week’s main event loss (he was not pinned or submitted), our cameras cut backstage, showing a VERY interested JOHN CENA watching on from a monitor in the back…

Later on in the night, a video package plays for a special night which was announced on last week’s Smackdown…

After the video package, we see that MIKE ADAMLE is on the move, walking through a hallway. He looks to be more relaxed than ever when he comes face to face with CHRIS JERICHO. As opposed to letting his boss walk by Jericho remains in his path, a pleasant look on his face, but also something to get off his chest.

Chris Jericho: Hey Mike, you look to be in a rush, but I’ve got some advice for you. I’ve heard rumours of the big announcement regarding Armageddon and I’m impressed. I think you’ve done a great job as Raw General Manager so far, but I did see what happened earlier. You should stand up for yourself around here; you are the boss. No matter how big somebody is.

Whilst nobody is mentioned by name, it’s clear Jericho is referring to Adamle’s confrontation with Mike Knox earlier tonight. Jericho now steps to the side, allowing Adamle, with plenty on his mind, to continue heading in the direction he was prior to meeting Jericho…

We now cut to ringside, later on in the night…

***WANNA BE LOVED***

The Raw theme hits which signals the arrival of MIKE ADAMLE. His rather no nonsense approach is on full display here, walking down the ramp without any theatrics, smiling at the fans as he does so. The ovation is polite but not exactly passionate and Adamle is okay with that, getting himself a mic.

Mike Adamle: I won’t take up too much of your time, folks, but after being referenced throughout the night, it’s time I deliver on my promise. It’s time for my big announcement.

The GM pauses for dramatic effort, the audience beginning to buzz in anticipation.

Mike Adamle: As you all know, the 2010 Royal Rumble is fast approaching on January 31st in Atlanta, Georgia. This is the start of the road to WrestleMania and is one of the most prestigious matches in the WWE. With that being said, it’s about time people start qualifying, and the qualification process will begin at Armageddon.

A smattering of cheers from the audience, they are interested.

Mike Adamle: At Armageddon, there will be a special Six Pack Challenge match where the winner of the fall goes into the Rumble at number thirty. There will also be repercussions for the loser, because the loser of the fall will come in at number one.

Adamle smirks, the fans have gotten louder. They love the stipulation.

Mike Adamle: The Six Pack Challenge match at Armageddon will see the undefeated on Raw Vladimir Koslov versus John Cena versus Triple H versus Rey Mysterio versus Chris Jericho versus John Morrison!!!

Now that gets an epic pop, the fans are happy with the match. Our Raw GM clearly enjoys the response, and plans to leave the ring when…

***I WALK ALONE***
Adamle looks surprised by the interruption, as the fans ERUPT with a raucous ovation, as a suited up BATISTA steps through the curtain. After setting off his pyro, Batista emerges through the smoke, shades on, but his facial expression says that he’s pissed off. Big Dave gets into the ring, gets a mic and shoots Adamle an incredulous look before speaking.

Batista: Mike, come on, man, are you kidding me right now? I deserve to be in that match over some queen with bedazzled abs or a Canadian midget. I accepted being looked over for last week’s number one contender match, but I demand to be in this one.

The veins are protruding from ‘Tista’s temple, he’s dead serious. Adamle looks a little uncomfortable, taking a step back.

Mike Adamle: Look, Dave, it’s nothing personal. I was the one who mentioned you for consideration. Your name was brought up in the meeting with the Board, but they wanted to go in another direction. They said you haven’t done anything impressive since returning prior to Survivor Series. As a matter of fact, your performance at Survivor Series and you being the first man gone from your team at Survivor Series was mentioned also.

The GM doesn’t look happy saying, whilst a furious Batista takes off his shades, stepping closer. He looks as intimidating as ever right now.

Mike Adamle: Uh, Dave, please, you need to understand this doesn’t remove you from the WWE Title picture completely. You will most likely still be in the Rumble, but you just need to put your best foot forward. You need to do something to open people’s eyes.

Batista looks less upset after these words, his expression going into thinking mode.

Batista: Okay… I need to open people’s eyes. Got it.

Rather abruptly, Batista drops the mic, shooting Adamle one last glare, before walking off. ‘Tista nods his head as he storms up the ramp, constantly repeating the phrase, “DO SOMETHING IMPRESSIVE” to himself.

Before Batista can reach the curtain…

***DEATH GRIP***

There’s a small reaction initially, but it picks up quickly, the fans gasping as MIKE KNOX walks out from the back. Knox and Batista meet on the ramp, both men staring the other down, until Knox continued down the ramp, and Batista disappeared to the back. Inside the ring, Adamle doesn’t look comfortable with the appearance of Knox. The ECW wrestler doesn’t care though, pacing around the ring like a caged animal, receiving a microphone of his own from the ringside crew.

Mike Knox: I haven’t received word since our chat earlier tonight, so I’ve decided. My open challenge is now!

Once again, Adamle is put in a difficult position, screwing up his face and taking a step back. His back is now against the ropes.

Mike Adamle: Uh, uh, uh, look, M-Mike, you’re not a Raw superstar. I-I-I won’t be pushed around and there will be no open challenge on my roster.

Adamle shows some backbone, but Knox simply laughs in his face.

Mike Knox: Yes, it will be happening.

The Raw GM puts some bass in his voice.

Mike Adamle: I said no! I’ve had enough. I will not be pushed around by anybody anymore, let alone a man who isn’t even a member of the Raw lock-…

KNOX LARIATS ADAMLE’S HEAD OFF!!!

Whoa! The fans can’t believe it, giving a big mixed reaction, as Knox just took out the Raw GM. Adamle is down and out, in a world of trouble, as medics and officials immediately run down to assess him. With the ring filling up with staff, Knox simply stands over Adamle, looking down at the carnage he’s caused, as the show cuts to a break…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

The show returns with some footage captioned as ‘DURING THE BREAK’. MIKE ADAMLE is shown wearing a neck brace, being stretchered out of the arena to a respectful round of applause from the crowd…

Back to live action and
MIKE KNOX is still inside the ring, receiving heaps of heat. He picks up his microphone off the canvas, having more to say.

Mike Knox: Now that little hurdle is out of the way, this is still an open challenge to anyone on Raw. I need new competition since I’ve killed everyone on ECW!

The fans buzz, wondering who will accept the challenge when…

***GOODBYE HORSES***

Most of the fans don’t recognise the theme so it’s a minor to no reaction at best, as Raw’s newest signee, JIMMY JACOBS heads towards the ring (Bookers Note: Jacobs won’t be a big part of this thread at all, might not even get another mention. Just felt like throwing him in here for fun). Knox smirks cockily, seeing who his opponent will be, with Jacobs eagerly stepping into the ring, and now we have a referee sliding into the ring as well…

After defeating Jacobs in less than two minutes,
MIKE KNOX isn’t finished causing havoc. Instead of celebrating, he picks up Jacobs… KNOX LIFTS JACOBS ABOVE HIS HEAD AND MILITARY PRESSES HIM OVER THE TOP ROPE AND TO THE OUTSIDE!!!

The audience groans at the hellacious bump from Jacobs on the concrete floor. Meanwhile, satisfied with his work, Knox yet again grabs a mic.

Mike Knox: I’m disappointed. Is this the best Raw has?

Before Knox can say anything else…

***THIS FIRE BURNS***

The pop is huge as everybody is shocked that the man seemingly coming to defend Raw is CM PUNK. Having already been involved in a gruelling title defence and a brawl afterwards, Punk looks a little dishevelled but is still ready to go. Knox smirks at the appearance of Punk, who drops his IC Title onto the floor and slides into the ring. Without a moment of hesitation, Punk storms up to Knox, going face to chest with the big man.

The referee of the open challenge attempts to get in the middle of them, wanting to stop something from starting… WHEN KNOX SNAPS AND LARIATS THE REFEREES HEAD OFF!!!

Sensing the chance, Punk now lands a few right hands, and Knox retaliates with some of his own. The two go at it until Punk starts landing rapid fire body kicks. Knox takes one step back… AND THEN SWINGS A LARIAT!!!

NO!!! PUNK DUCKS AND THE BRAWL CONTINUES!!!

Neither man is willing to stop as a gaggle of referees run down to break up the heated fight. As the two men do finally get pulled apart, PUNK GETS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND…

BY MR. KENNEDY!!!

Punk retaliates with some punches of his own and now we’ve got Punk and Kennedy going at it. The chaos continues with these two… WHEN KNOX BREAKS FREE AND NAILS PUNK WITH A BICYCLE KICK TO THE SIDE OF THE HEAD!!!

The IC Champion falls down to the mat, a sense of finality about the collapse. With Punk barely moving, the arrogant Kennedy smirks, standing over Punk and signalling that the IC Title will be around his waist after next week…

WHEN KNOX DECIMATES KENNEDY WITH A LARIAT!!!

This actually gets a pop from the fans as Knox isn’t discriminating against anybody. There are referees and security everywhere trying to maintain order, Punk is down, Kennedy is down, whilst ECW’s Knox stands tall amongst the chaos, having made a gigantic impact tonight…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

After the commercials, we get replays of everything that just happened involving Adamle, Knox, Punk and Kennedy. Our commentary team of Cole and Lawler then promote the two big takeouts from the segment, Punk and Kennedy for the WWE Intercontinental Championship has now been confirmed for next week’s Raw. That was the last match that Raw General Manager Mike Adamle made before being taken out by Knox. Speaking on this topic, they wonder what the response will be from the powers that be with this not being the first General Manager taken out this year…

As the heel trio make their entrance for the main event, Kennedy is not with them. It’s announced that after Kennedy getting nailed with the Lariat, he has been replaced by TED DIBIASE…

Match Six
Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase vs. D Generation X and Rey Mysterio

This one is a sprint with everybody immediately going at it and not taking a backwards step. The faces have success in the early stages, managing to clear both DiBiase and Orton from the ring. As the dastardly duo scramble on the outside, helping each other to their feet… MICHAELS COMES OVER THE TOP WITH A BIG PLANCHA TAKING OUT BOTH MEN!!!

Meanwhile, inside of the ring, Triple H stalks Jericho, and when he gets back to his feet… H NAILS A CLOTHESLINE!!!

NO!!! JERICHO DUCKS…

AND HUNTER ACCIDENTALLY NAILS MYSTERIO INSTEAD!!!

The fans groan at the mix up and Trips doesn’t look happy about it. Before he can react, Jericho comes from behind and throws Triple H through the middle ropes and to the outside. ‘The Game’ manages to hold onto the ropes though, keeping himself on the apron, and as he pulls himself back to his feet… JERICHO KNOCKS HIM OFF THE APRON WITH THE SPRINGBOARD TRIANGLE DROPKICK!!!

With Hunter out of it now, Jericho drags Rey towards the heel corner of the ring and things settle down. The heels manage to isolate Mysterio, working over the masked fan favourite at a methodical pace. They have no qualms cheating, doing so at nauseum, and the WWE Champion really tortures Rey when he gets in… AND APPLIES THE ORTONLOCK!!!

DX had to intervene to break the hold other Rey may have faded into oblivion. The domination from the heels continued, until DiBiase whips Rey into a neutral corner. Ted builds up a head of steam, running after Rey… DRIVING HIS SHOULDER INTO REY’S GUT!!!

NO!!! REY MOVES AND DIBIASE CRASHED SHOULDER FIRST INTO THE RINGPOST!!!

A big pop is heard for the quickness of Rey, who immediately monkey rolls over to his corner and tags in Triple H! Only a second later, Orton gets the tag in from DiBiase, but H comes in and dominates the champion with punches and Clotheslines. Both Jericho and a sore DiBiase look to get involved, but Trips cleans house on both of them as well. After H drops DiBiase yet again, Orton grabs him and whips him into the ropes. Orton ducks his head FOR A BACK BODY DROP!!!

NO!!! TRIPS TELEGRAPHS IT AND GETS THE KNEE FACEBUSTER!!!

The impact causes Orton to shoot up, standing straight, chin in the air, so Trips runs through him with a Clothesline! Before H can capitalise any further… JERICHO HITS A MISSILE DROPKICK OFF THE TOP ROPE OUT OF NOWHERE!!!

The blow sends H stumbling backwards, and he falls on his ass in the corner. Thankfully for him it’s his own teams corner and Michaels slaps H on the back to tag himself in. Shawn gets in and Jericho runs at him to try and catch him off guard… MICHAELS HITS A DOUBLE AXE HANDLE!!!

Coming from Shawn’s blindside, DiBiase clobbers him with a right hand… BUT THEN AN ALREADY RECOVERED TRIPLE H RUNS THROUGH DIBIASE WITH A HARLEY RACE HIGH KNEE!!!

Surprisingly quickly, most likely on instinct alone, DiBiase bounces back to his feet… MYSTERIO MEETS HIM WITH A SPRINGBOARD SEATED SENTON!!!

Getting right back to his feet, Mysterio notices Jericho sitting up on the other side of the ring. Rey bounces off the ropes to build momentum… BASEMENT DROPKICK TAKES OUT JERICHO!!!

After tossing DiBiase over the top rope and to the outside, Triple H heads out after him to keep on the attack. Meanwhile, inside of the ring, Mysterio is back to his feet, but Orton catches him… INVERTED SIDE HEADLOCK BACKBREAKER!!!

Feeling at his back, Mysterio rolls out after the severe jarring from the move. Orton gets back to his feet, ready to focus on Michaels… BUT TURNS STRAIGHT INTO SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!!

SHAWN HOOKS ORTON’S LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: D Generation X and Rey Mysterio @ 6:39

The result gets a LOUD response from the audience, who’re delighted to see the WWE Champion get pinned. That’s right, folks, SHAWN MICHAELS JUST PINNED THE WWE CHAMPION!!! Michaels celebrates around the ring, feeling on top of the world, as a beat up Orton rolls to the outside. On commentary, they talk about how the Sweet Chin Music could be the difference maker, because within the close proximity of the steel cage, Michaels can hit the move at any time.

A stressed Orton backs up the ramp, clutching the WWE Title close to his chest. He looks concerned, as Michaels is full of confidence and the show fades to black…

WWE would like to send our deepest condolences to the family of Umaga, also known as Edward Fatu, who tragically passed away today (December 4th, 2009). Fatu was an integral part of the Smackdown roster and WWE family, and participated in many important moments over his tenure with the WWE. Fatu will be severely missed.

WWE have also announced that this week’s episode of Smackdown was pre-taped and is already good to go. The following edition of Smackdown which will be on the 11th of December will be a tribute show dedicated to Umaga/Edward Fatu.

It’s a cold opening for this week’s edition of Smackdown. A solemn, uncharismatic looking SHANE MCMAHON sits in a studio chair, behind a veiled black curtain. Shane O Mac’s eyes are bloodshot, he’s clearly very emotional as he begins to speak.

Shane McMahon: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a saying in the WWE that the show must go on, and it will. But before this week’s episode of Smackdown begins, it’s with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the death of Umaga. Edward Fatu was a beloved member of the WWE family, but I want to call out that we will now acknowledge the passing of Fatu in this episode as this was taped prior to the tragedy.

Shane O pauses, taking a deep breath, trembling ever so slightly.

Shane McMahon: The Fatu family has been involved with the professional wrestling business, the WWE and my family for generations. The WWE family send our deepest thoughts to Umaga’s family. To pay our respects to Umaga’s contributions to the WWE and how he touched our lives, next week on Smackdown, we will forego our usual programming, and a special tribute show will air in his honour. Thank you for your time.

A sombre start to the show this week, but a necessary one, as the camera cuts away from the distraught McMahon, and transitions to the usual Smackdown opening…

WWE Smackdown
December 4th, 2009

Hampton, Virginia

Obviously Smackdown isn’t usually our jam in this BTB, but there’s one segment from this show that needs to be highlighted. During the evening, the cameras cut to the office of SHANE MCMAHON. McMahon sits behind his desk, smirking at the positive reception he gets from the fans inside the arena. After taking one last look at some papers on his desk, the man who runs the blue brand begins.

Shane McMahon: As I announced last week, December eighteenth will hold the three hour Smackdown Spectacular!

Shane smiles to himself as the fans inside the arena give a polite pop for the show reference.

Shane McMahon: It’s easy to just go and announce a special three hour episode of Smackdown, but we’ve got to make it special. We already know that Jeff Hardy will challenge for the WWE Championship, but that alone won’t take up three hours. I have another major match to announce for that night.

McMahon pauses, for dramatic effect more than anything else.

Shane McMahon: We’re going to bring in the Smackdown Spectacular in style, because we’re going to do something that has never been done before. For the first time in WWE history, we will have representation from Raw, ECW, and of course Smackdown in the one match. There will be a tri branded, three versus three versus three tag team match!!!

He lets out a smile, as the fans pop big inside the arena. That’s an exciting announcement.

Shane McMahon: That’s all from me, thank you for your time. I hope you all enjoy our main even coming up next where our World Heavyweight Champion John Bradshaw Layfield will team with Montel Vontavious Porter to take on Jeff Hardy, and arguably the hottest star on Smackdown, Chris Hero.

I’m shamelessly including Chris Hero in here because there’s zero consequences because it’s Smackdown. And I also really want to write a particular match which will become clearer in the coming shows.

Anyway, the segment comes to an end and the show cuts to commercials…
