Watching Evil Dead 3 - such a classic. The English skeletons are the best bit of the film

I have the reboot film and I might watch it later but has anyone watched the TV series? Might give that a go

The series is fun but a bit repetitive.

Thanks for the response - I'm curious so I'll probably give it a go then
If you like the movies and the Ash character it's definitely a must watch.

Im a big fan of the 80/90s horror films and he's brilliant - groovy

I even bought the retrorealm evil dead/Halloween crossover which is great

Tried the reboot though it was awful - I'm sure I'll get slagged off for this comment but it was filled with boring female drama and just didn't fit the franchise. I only made it about half way in and ditched

Will try the TV show though so thanks for the recommendation

And I have been in the mood for horror films of late so might watch the Terrifier films or Blair Witch later (makes me shit my pants every time I watch it)

I loved the 2013 remake for how brutal and dark it was. The one from 2023 was ok. But the GOAT will always be Evil Dead 2 for me. Got it on 4K last year and it looks great.

Anybody got a director or actor that's in your personal blacklist of things you refuse to watch?

Not really, I almost find a morbid curiosity in watching things from people I would feel those opinions about, I got weird art ideals tbh

I was gonna say there's at least two easy ones in my mind, and it's Roman Polanski and John Landis

I really like some Polanski films but I also mostly watched them before I knew about his fuckery so it would be dumb for me to act like my opinions wouldn't have been changed otherwise but it's hard to shake the initial ones. It's much easier to just not watch new things from people you don't want to support than change your mind on things you previously liked

Polanski for being a child rapist

And Landis for being a massive piece of negligent shit and getting three people (two children), killed in an exceedingly pointless film shoot.

Additionally I don't mean necessarily like changing your opinion on movies from people you hate, but choosing not to watch those movies anymore because of things you learn about people behind the scenes.

Oh yeah I can't even remember the last time I watched a Polanski film so I get that but it's more like if it gets brought up in conversation, I can't act like I didn't like the Pianist lol

I've had multiple opportunities to watch Chinatown and I know it's such a good film from all accounts but I just can't personally.
