I don't think the Framer role works like that. From my understanding of the description you can only frame an actual Townmate to be shown as scum, not the other way around.

"A Tree Stump is a player who has lost all of their abilities as a player except that of being able to post. In essence, they are a dead player who can still post in the game thread. Any Night Actions that player may have had before becoming "stumped" are removed. As Tree Stumps cannot vote, they are not counted as living players for any purpose."

Let me explain the order of events that happened.

NIGHT 2
Jean kills Poyser
Jean uses his gifted commute on me (This is why there was spec that I was scum, as I could not have performed the scum kill that Night)
Scum team attempts to kill Jean - hits his vest. (There is nothing else in the game that could hit his vest)

NIGHT 3
Jean kills Brett
Scum team kills Jean

The only explanation I could think of D3 for the no-kill was that I was targeted but that kill was interfered with by the commute. This, I now know, is not true. The real reason was that scum hit Jean's vest.

There is now no mechanical reason to read me scum, and I would say it doesn't make sense on play either

Well, Looch/Troop is the PoE in this case, and barring any shenanigans we could easily get one then the other. Neither has covere himself in glory. Troop's play at end of day 3 was, as I say, horrid, but I think he's more likely to be thinking on his own as he's consistently suspected me. Meanwhile Looch was fine to work with me D3 and then turned right on me because he knows me dying is the only way he wins

They could reasonably have guessed that Smark was going to be investigated N2 given that he was on the outer reaches of suspicion
