AEW on FOX rumor thread

[Fightful Select] One source close to Fox had indicated to Fightful (...) that Fox would be interested in keeping wrestling as a part of their programming with the right deal. At least one source near Fox' side did claim that the two (AEW) sides had contact​

apparently the article mentions Tubi as a potential landing spot. Dark on Tubi would be fun.

edit: I don't have a sub but from what I read here and there it's still i nthe rumor/preliminary talk stages so we're still in the speculative stage here.

They liked wrestling but couldn't afford WWE. Doesn't seem as far fetched to me as some are acting, especially considering it could just be FS1 or Tubi. AEW is obviously cheaper but they also have cheaper ad rates than WWE per viewer so Fox could be the one channel that at least matches the rate and still come out spending less money, and that would probs force WBD to up rates to be more fair

I think misinterpreted FOX didn't want to renew with WWE as they wanted out of wrestling when it was leaked they were actually looking for ratings more in the 5 mil range - so they felt the price tag wasn't worth the return. was just a business decision at the end of the day

That's old news too in a way. 2024 WWE on Fox ratings are miles better than 2019 even if the numbers are lower.

But if they matched what USA paid, they still would be losing money with the ratings pulled yeah. It's kinda messy for them but basically it's as simple as they can afford AEW and not lose money, they couldn't afford WWE without losing money and then decided the brand wasn't worth it as a loss leader

Another slight misconception I'm pretty sure here too by the IWC. The censoring has gotten worse for whatever dumb reason but it's also just worse in general bc WWE is PG, USA does it too and they're only slightly less annoying (don't black out the screen for middle fingers)

Also bc this is America, it's only language and sex you gotta censor, you can get away with A LOT of violence on TV 14, just not All Out levels.

alot of it is just networks decding weird stuff too. for example wbd censors less than the canada feed on TSN
