Texas A&M's sitting very pretty with a 35-18 lead late in the 3rd quarter, and has the ball.

Apparently, I'm not wrong often enough because I feel compelled to predict the conference champions and who makes the playoffs. I'll explain my logic if asked.

AAC: Memphis over Tulane

ACC: Louisville over Georgia Tech

Big 12: Texas Tech over BYU

Big 10 Ohio St over Indiana

Conference USA Jacksonville St over Western Kentucky

MAC: Miami-Ohio over Ohio

Mountain West: Boise St over Hawai'i

SEC: Alabama over Georgia

Sun Belt: James Madison over Southern Miss

Playoffs
Byes: Alabama, Ohio St, Indiana, Texas Tech
Home teams: Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Louisville
Away teams: BYU, Memphis, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech

I believe I've made my opinion regarding midseason firings clear so I'll spare you that rant. I know just the guy to replace Brian Kelley: Deion Sanders. You may laugh, but I want to see what he can do with an LSU sized budget and a fan base pre-disappointed in him.

Brian Kelly had a great situation at Notre Dame. He shit on ND and left for LSU, only to get fired 4 years in. Meanwhile Marcus Freeman is awesome.

ND won that decision.

It's been a rough week for LSU. The coach is fired, the offensive coordinator is fired, and the athletics director is fired. The governor of Louisiana, apparently desperate for something to do after making it harder for third parties to get on the ballot and extending the amount of time politicians will campaign, has decided that he needs to be making the hiring for LSU.

Frankly, I trust the people at the top not named Jeff Landry to make the best decision, but I think LSU would be well served to look at its recent past. Brian Kelly was fired in his fourth year and the school had to pay over $50 million to get rid of him. Ed Orgeron won the national championship his fourth year as the head coach. Two years later he was let go and his buyout ends this December (and has recently made it very clear that he wants to get back into coaching next season). Les Miles won the national championship in his third year and was back in the title game in his 8th year. He was let go during is 11th year. Nick Saban won the national championship in his fourth year. Gerry Dinardo was bordering on the top 10 at the end of his first three seasons then his team fell apart in the fourth year. Even going back to Paul Dietzel in the 1950s, he won the nattie in his fourth year. I'm seeing plenty of reasons not to make a contract for more than 4 years. Extensions, renewals, and incentives are common terms for coaching contracts for a reason.

I would love to say "rant over" at this point, but I cannot promise that.

Sounds like a good time to switch games. Duke and Clemson are exchanging blows. The Blue Devils lead 14-7 and are slowly moving down the field, just across the 50.

After Texas scored another touchdown, being up 24-3 I think it's best to change the channel lol

The Commander-in-Chief's Trophy looks more and more likely to be up for grabs in December*. Army leads Air Force 17-10 with 7 minutes remaining in regulation.

*If Air Force beats Army, the trophy remains at Navy (the previous winner) regardless of the outcome of the Army-Navy Game. If Army wins this game, the winner of the Army-Navy Game gets the trophy.

Army beats Air Force with a walk off field goal.

Houston's 3 turnovers have helped West Virginia to a 45-28 lead, but the Cougars aren't going down yet with 6:30 remaining in the 4th.
