Yeah I mean there's a good chance I'm reading into it too much, but my perception at that time was that he was legitimately struggling to accept the failure of the Jeep thing, and I guess I kind of extrapolated that maybe he had a bigger mental breakdown off screen than what that scene depicted. Which, like with all of this stuff, who the fuck knows There's still plenty of gaps in the timeline and presumably much that is yet to be revealed that will be essential to piecing this all together
I do kinda like the theory you said that in some way or another, this whole conspiracy is just him coping with having to go back to this job. Kind of like a midlife crisis situation. With more layers I'd assume.
Nah I just read the plot summary of that episode again and her using the same line is def important bc it looks like she said it in present day first and then it showed the flashback context with more meaning
