I still think they should do what TNA does and do a live monthly special, the next day in the same town just tape a months worth of fusion. It can’t really cost you that much more money to do two tapings in the same city, but if he refuses to do that, I will just take the fusion at this point.

That's what they were doing when I first got into them right after COVID, it was my favorite time watching the company

I'm checking the show out now. Shotzi vs. PK wasn't the best opener in terms of the action, but a good job establishing the division and I think that both are good, big personalities to have around for a TV company.

The press conference vignette was interesting. I like the angle they're going with the open contract hook. The cameo by Danny McBride and Steve Little was unexpected, kinda cool but also pretty pointless. Worth it for the sponsorship money though, easily.

Some of their core pieces (or maybe most of them tbh) are gonna take some rehabbing of their perception to really get them firing on all cylinders. Apparently Corbin is leaving back to WWE soon, last I heard? So that's one less guy they gotta make me care about :lol But when it comes to Aries, The Good Brothers, Riddle, and then to lesser extents the likes of Dijak, Kross and Trevor Lee... They're all potentially really decent acts for MLW to have, but there's varying levels of uncertainty I have about all of them being as good as they once were or are expected to be.

Lee vs. Aries was a good main event to cap off the first hour. Nothing to write home about necessarily. Aries is no doubt showing his age some and Trevor Lee has no discernible character to really tap into, but they still had a well above average match there. Seems like Aries taking the Openweight Championship is a no-brainer atp.

I'm not seeing blue chip prospect with Diego Hill, as it seems they're trying to portray him. We'll see if they develop him into a star but he's not a guy I'd be placing too much stock in.

Credit to them for really highlighting the featherweight division with three women's matches throughout these two shows

Don't know what to make of Zamaya. Felt like she was being booked like a brutish badass but she isn't much larger than her opponent. Idk, doesn't really present a dangerous aura to me honestly.

Plenty to critique from this show but all things considered, I think they still have the chops to run a weekly TV show with some pretty decent stories and workers. In some ways, I feel the company just needs time to evolve and become the fully realized version of itself and hopefully having more consistent programming can achieve that. If it was me, I'd probably lean pretty heavily into that NXT Black and Gold kind of vibe, especially considering their roster currently has a lot of guys that harken back to that era, and they could probably snag a few more before long too if they wanted to, with WWE releasing folks and what not.

Hammerstone and Dyer main event was actually pretty solid as well, I should say. I'll prolly check out the coming weeks of shows.

That's been his MLW theme for years, an instrumental one usually, I don't think I've ever heard lyrics but it's identical

I think their best bet (and I haven't watched so take with a grain of salt) is what was working 2021ish, just go pseudo sport with the alliances and random people they can bring in and hype being a worldwide company bc they can certainly appear that way. They at least used to be so good at managing loaned out wrestlers with their standard roster
